It’s true that the faint shimmer in the bottle doesn’t translate to the nail, but I think this polish gets a bad rap. The color is a beautiful blackened violet. The formula is smooth, not too thin, and dries pretty quickly. Opaque in two coats. Finish is shiny, not matte. As for scent, it actually smells like violets in a very unobtrusive way. I’d have no problem wearing this to work in a FF environment. I wouldn’t pay full price, but it got this for $1.50 at Big Lots so I consider this a score.

Wild Violets is a scented polish from the Parfumerie line of polishes. I have seen these at retailers for full price while I picked this one up at Big Lots! for $1.50. This really does smell like violets although it’s a soapy chemical-ly scent. It still works even through top coat! This is a dark vampy shade and it looks lighter in the bottle than on the nail and it has a beautiful foil like shimmer in the bottle but sadly that does not translate to the nails at all. It simply looks like a crème. This looks so dark that is appears black and it’s a cold harsh color on my fair skin. I do wear black polish and look fine in it, but not so much in this one. It might be because my nails are quite long right now as I am in the middle of a 31 day nail art challenge and need the surface area for a larger canvas with which to work. I am going to give this one another try once I clip my nails back down to a shorter fingertip length and see if I like it better. I really want to like this one, but my nails look like claws with this super dark shade on that isn’t very flattering at all on me. On the plus side, it does not give me lobster hands. The little brush with the ball shaped cap is easy enough to work with but the brush is narrow and tiny and it takes several strokes to apply even a single layer. The polish goes on a bit thin and streaky on the first coat but the second goes on much better. I have worn this for three days and while it hasn’t chipped at all, it does have noticeable tip wear. The scent is still present but not as strong as it was and I have to actually put my hands to my face now to detect it. For $1.50 it’s okay, but not at full retail cost. It’s a fun novelty but I would not buy this again. It isn’t a terrible polish, but it simply doesn’t suit me.

Wild Violets is from Parfumerie collection. The scent is quite strong and can be detected days after application, unfortunately I don’t like this scent. It’s a dark violet, shimmery polish, which looks black on the nail.
I like the small, round cap as I found it easy to hold. I used 2 coats with gave me perfect coverage.
Unfortunately I will not be repurchasing this polish. I don’t like the scent and when I buy violet polish, I want to see violet, not black. Having said that I thought the quality was good, so if the points I mentioned do not put you off, give this polish a go.
