My version of the Lorac Pro Metal Eye Shadow Palette came in a rose color cardboard from Kohls, but the colors in the palette look exactly the same.
These are all soft, smooth, and easy to blend – even the white and the black. They’re never patchy. And the color you see in the palette is the color you actually get.
The shadows are all pigmented and will leave strong swatches on your hand, but they don’t all behave the same on the eye. I tend to use just one of these Lorac Metal colors along with eyeshadows from other companies because the ones in this palette are tricky.
Cobalt is a vibrant blue. But like so many shiny blues, when the sheen fades or gets rubbed off, the blue color goes with it and you end up with a smokier, less blue color. This Lorac version stays true to color MUCH longer than most. And applying wet seems to help keep the vibrant blue metallic color stronger longer, but it will smear if rubbed.
Clover (olive) and Gilded (gold) have disappointed me. They’re just not as vibrant as the others, and other eyeshadows seem to overtake them. Its almost as if they get dissolved.
Graphite (pewter) is the opposite. It quickly overtakes any other eyeshadow it comes in contact with no matter how sparingly its applied.
Quartz (white) is a beautiful highlight color on the lid. Its not chalky at all. Its a neutral
white but it looks a tiny bit silvery on me because I have yellow undertones. The problem is – it migrates and blends on its own. It climbs right over other eyeshadows and ends up everywhere in less than 4 hours. Its not as bad as Graphite, but it travels left and right, up and down, everywhere in a nice even layer – no creases.
Onyx (black) is easy to blend. Its strong and a little goes a long long way.
My complaint is that NONE of the colors in this palette stays put. They travel right over other eyeshadows. They continually blend themselves and thin out within 4 hours – thats WITH primer – and I’ve tried a few. I have average eyelids – not oily, not dry – so I don’t really understand whats going on. I just don’t want my eyes to end up with one slightly muddy color everywhere.
Maybe the Pro Metal palette needs to be used with some kind of fixative?
The colors themselves are beautiful. I really want to like this palette so much more than I actually do.

This palette is limited edition so get it while you can. This slipped under the radar when everyone was raving about the new jock on the block (Urban Decay Smoky Palette) which I bought and returned. But lately, so many new and exciting shadow palettes are coming out now and this new Lorac one really is outstanding! All shadows are extremely smooth and blend nicely. Also, the pigmentation is insane. The colors aren’t necessarily unique but they are colors I tend to gravitate to. There are eight shades in this palette housed in a pretty metallic package for only $28. Here is the breakdown:
Top Row: Quartz (light shimmery eggshell), Rose Gold (true to the name w/ with shimmer), Graphite (Warm grey with shimmer/slightly leaning taupe) & Onyx (Jet black with micro shimmer).
Bottom Row: Gilded (24k Gold shimmer), Amber (Copper with shimmer), Clover (Warm sage green with shimmer) & Cobalt (true to the name with shimmer).
As you can see, there are no matte shades in this palette. I love every single color in this palette. However, I like using matte shades in my crease and I do need to pull out other palettes to do a complete look. But, other than that, I love this palette. My favorite shades are Clover, Amber and Cobalt.
