I love it. My skin is quite pale and even my eyes are deep brown, I love every colour in this palette. You’ll love it too if you like a light reddish brown grunge look.
The colours blend easily and you can use the brush that comes in the palette.

I love this palette. I have green eyes, naturally hooded. I need a lot of mattes in my collection, and these are perfect. I love the shades: cream, light pink, mauve, burgundy, a beautiful, hard to describe brown/purple, and my favorite, a peanut butter-y color. I love these colors for green eyes. They really make them pop.
The lightest matte highlight shade actually shows up on my fair skin. There are at least two wonderful transition shades and a couple great, deep shades for the crease and outer-v, or to line with.
The formula is on the dry side, but it definitely isn’t powdery or flaky. It’s more of a stiff formula than a soft one, but I haven’t had any hard-pan. I don’t get much kick-up in the pan and no fall-out. The pigmentation is just how I like it, not so crazy that it’s hard to work with, but shows up easily with little effort. In my opinion, these blend beautifully together. I find it very easy to create a nice transition or gradient using these. They do not muddy up on the skin.
For me, this is an idiot-proof palette. Very easy to work with and blend and all the shades go well together. I usually use this on its own and I love the looks I’ve come up with. Perfect for work or everyday, but you can go quite dramatic if you want.
Highly recommended.

I bought this on sale at Hautelook. It was a great price and the colors looked like what I was looking for. I’m astonished how much I love this palette. These have become my absolute favorite eyeshadows (and I am an eyeshadow junkie). They have great color payoff but they’re fairly buildable so you can make them as dark or light as you wish. Colors range from neutrals to wine. Great for green eyes. I have medium/light warm skin but I really do think that there is something for everyone in this pallette.

As I’m very warm toned (NC42,golden) I struggle to pull of mauve/plum/purple and especially taupe shades. But the colors in this palette surprisingly look good on me.
They are somewhat warmer berry/mauve tones which are fairly hard to find. The color scheme is neutral without being boring and the tones are nice and muted.
My favourite color in the entire palette is the third shade from the left called ‘Adore’-this is reminiscent of MAC Haux and looks great all over the lid.
The quality is great and consistent across the board- there is no ‘dud’ or underperforming color here and they blend like a dream.
As the eyeshadows are well pigmented but buildable, you’re not going to accidentally deposit too much color at once which I like.
It’s a cohesive palette because you can actually do a complete eye look with this palette alone.
My only slight criticism and the reason I’ve given it 4 stars is that the 2 lightest shades look too similar on my skin. I would’ve preferred one of the lightest shades to have been a light creamy yellow which would’ve been the perfect browbone color for me.

I love this palette! I wasn’t sure what to expect because of the mixed reviews, but it is awesome! It has even become my everyday palette.
It is perfect for people with hooded eyes since it is all matte and has three excellent crease or transitions shades. These are the shades that are most important to me. Most of the shades are pretty pigmented, and the dark shades work well as liner too. The two or three lightest shades aren’t quite as pigmented as the darker shades, but I don’t mind that for these lighter shades.
All the shadows blend really exceptionally well and don’t get muddy, and have good lasting power too.
You can get a really good rosy look with this palette, a neutral look, and a warm orangey brown look. I think this is an excellent and versatile matte palette. It’s a complete palette and definitely has everything you need for en entire eye look. It’s also perfect for pairing with a cool shimmery or bright single shadow as a lid shade when you’re feeling more creative.
The brush it comes with is also pretty awesome. It’s like a fluffy shader kinda brush. I can use it without any other brushes for my whole eye look when using just this palette.
If I could change anything about this palette, I would replace the deepest of the three light shades (which is almost a skin-tone shade) as I think it is redundant with the other two light shades and I wont get much use out of it.
Overall, I definitely recommend!

EDIT: I have oily heavily-hooded eyelids and my eye shadow is VERY prone to creasing. There are some eye shadow formulas that crease and fade on me even with eye primer, and this is unfortunately one of them. To give you an better idea of the issue, the ABH Modern Renaissance palette creases like mad on me with eye shadow primer, but Too Faced eye shadows do not. I’ve found that this is an issue for me when it often isn’t for others, even those who have oily and/or hooded eyelids. So if you are *especially* prone to creasing and fading, I would not recommend this palette. Otherwise, I still think it’s a good palette.

great colours, some are pretty hard to find, so I was very keen. Additionally, I have been looking for a matte palette for ages! The quality of the powder is extraordinary and it is the longest lasting I had.

I was intrigued about this palette since it was matte and its from a brand that’s not as hyped like MAC and Urban Decay. I was a bit disappointed that most shades are too dark for me. I will not purchase.

I really, really, REALLY wanted to love this palette. I am a big fan of matte shadows and wanted this palette specifically for the two middle shades – Better half (raspberry) and Alter ego (plum). The texture of these shadows is awful – they are very dry and flakey, hard to blend, very sheer and hard to build up. The colors in the pan do not translate well onto the lids – the plum color looks almost brown, the raspberry color also turns out very muddy. Overall, for $32, I am quite disappointed.

When i first saw this palette i got very excited. The matte neutrals made a very versatile combination for a soft dewy look or to pair with a more vibrant single shadow.
Where my excitement fell flat is when i swatched the shadows. The color payoff is not great for any of the shadows.
The size of the palette is quite good, not too big that it wouldnt fit into a purse, but not travel size either.
Because of what else is out there, i cannot recommend this palette

Reviews on this were mixed and I had actually seen and swatched the Tartlette pallette (which also leans toward Marsala tones) when I held my breath and ordered Soul Mattes without ever seeing it in person. Quite the risk since I also had no experience with Pur Minerals. I’m so very glad I did.
First, let me say I have been in the same position as the negative reviewers. That is, I have had awful or mediocre experiences with products others love fiercely. For example, I admire the colors in the latest Stila palettes but I find the texture and application of the shadows too dry. Without fail, if I express this to a makeup junkie they say, “Oh no! They’re so creamy/pigmented/outstanding!” Makeup is so subjective – what works for one person may not for another. Well, that’s how I feel about this palette. The shades look better than their photos and they have just the right amount of pigmentation without creating a dust storm. I tap my brush in, pick up the color I see and can apply it without being afraid I’m about to ruin my eye makeup with a strong blob of unfiltered color. I can build up intensity and blend harsh lines without causing a muddled mess. The quality is high.
Back to the colors though…they really are a brilliant combination of matte neutrals tied together via a winey/mauvey theme. Even the light shades works on my deep skin tone without looking chalky. I would never have chosen a couple of these colors individually but I can and do use every one of them. Bonus points to Pur Minerals for accomplishing this while including an honest to goodness great brush and without parabens.
My experience with this palette has been so positive I would take a chance and order sight unseen from the Pur Minerals brand again.
