I have combination skin and most silicone based primer cause my skin to break out. And the silicone-free primers I have tried ( Laura Mercier) have been useless. This is a light primer that does nothing to minimize my pores. After using if for a week it caused my skin to break out. It contains salicylic acid and lactic acid in a glycerin base.

So I purchased this primer because it is silicone free and good for acne/oil skin. I love the way it felt going on and no scent. And was easy to apply. I really wanted to love this product but 2 hours later and my skin was super oily again. I tried putting my mineral powder on after and same thing extremely oily. For 31$ I expect to not be oily for a least 4-5 hours. Will continue for my quest to find something to keep my oil at bay while holding my make up in. I will be returning in the morning

This is a new primer from Pur Minerals. I got into Pur Minerals cosmetics especially the 4 in 1 mineral powder foundation so I bought this product to help prime my skin. I figured that wearing a dry powder foundation a primer might be a good idea to set up the skin. It’s advertised as a mattifier and for oily/combination skin. Unlike other Pur primers it is a clear mauve tinted gel in the tube and goes on clear. I have extremely oily skin and usually need to wash my face twice a day. Makeup tends to end up an oily mess on my face within a few hours. I can really recommend this primer for anyone with oily skin. It’s super drying and wearing it I have no oily breakthough all day. I don’t use a moisturizer and I’m not sure how this primer would behave over one. This primer doesn’t seem to have any allergic or sensitive skin issues and I don’t notice any noticeable perfume. I use only a tiny amount and spread it quickly over a damp face after I wash it. You don’t need to use much at all. I’m pleased that the primer also evens out my skin tone and seems to smooth my skin as well. It comes in a flat tube that is easy to slip into your pocket or purse. Like most Pur products its on he pricey side. This costs around $30. a tube but the tube lasts a long time and I think the price is worth it.
