I love this lipstick, I love the flowery powdery smell, it reminds me of violets. I don’t get a chemical taste. I wish this were more matte or more creamy, it does settle into lines a little bit, but the color is to die for, – beautiful orangey pink, looks very Joan Holloway!

Glad that Revlon still makes this shade. I recently discovered that Marilyn Monroe also liked it. “Other shades she was rumored to wear were Revlon Certainly Red, Revlon Hot Coral, Revlon Kiss Me Coral (that lovely orange red in Something’s Got to Give), and Revlon Blase Apricot–all of which you can still find today.”

Wow, I was fully expecting to come here and write an original-ish warning for this lipstick’s taste and smell (like used plastic bedpans left out in the heat). But clearly everyone’s got a problem with it. (As they should, it is BAD.) Aside from that, this is a beautiful shade with a long-lasting and comfortable, opaque formula. This is more drying to my lips than the regular Revlon cremes, which is weird because the Moondrops are supposed to be more moisturizing. Also, it emphasizes dry spots and flakes a bit.
Ugh, the worst past is when you inhale through your mouth – it feels like you’re hoovering deadly chemicals. Clearly a lot of people like these though, Revlon has kept them around for ages.

So before I begin, I think that overall, Revlon does a really great job with their lip products, and I certainly believe they’re the best you can find in the drugstore – their Super Lustrous line is my absolute favorite, and I reach for those even more often than my MAC lipsticks. So, I expected their Moon Drops lipstick to live up to my happily-fulfilled high standards. However…although the formula and pigmentation of this particular shade was an easy 10/10, the sickly sweet perfumed smell it has really disappointed me (and leaves a bitter taste on the tongue well after initial application), so that’s why I’m giving it a 3/5.
Like many others, I’m pretty sensitive to scented products and I avoid them as much as possible. These are wrapped up when you buy them so there’s no way to check, and I made the mistake of not reading reviews prior to purchasing. I’m currently leaving this out and opened to “descent” it, and hopefully it works so I don’t have to throw this lipstick away. I don’t think I would repurchase, because that’s just too much hassle for a lipstick that’s only $7-$9. It’s such a shame too, because Blase Apricot is such a gorgeous and classy retro coral shade.
Ultimately, if you don’t mind a sort of vintagey and quite powerful perfume fragrance to your lipstick, by all means, get one of these, they’re great. I hope Revlon reads these reviews because IMHO, if the scent was removed, these would be absolutely *outstanding* lipsticks in terms of ease to apply, uniqueness in shade range, and comfort during wear. I hope this helps anyone who was considering!

Oh, Blase Apricot…I just wish I had never discovered this lipstick in the first place. If I had to list my most disappointing products this would easily take the number 1 spot. How such a stunning color comes with a taste and smell so unbearably vile is beyond me. There’s no way I can think to describe it except HOLY bitter baby powder! Seriously, if the product was just stinky then I could deal, but the repulsive taste lingers forever! It’s so strong that it can’t be masked with a balm or gloss. This is disappointing because the shade is one of my all time favorites; it’s a unique coral with a smooth, opaque formula. It is simultaneously neon and pastel, bright and soft, and bold but classic. If I even out my complexion, put on Milani’s Luminoso blush, sweep on mascara, and finish with Blase Apricot, I’m left with the most fresh, lively look that is perfect for spring and summer. I’m basically a slave to the shade so I suck it up and wear it, but I am dying for a less pungent dupe!

I wish I could give this lipstick 5 stars because, for me, it’s the perfect coral color I’ve been searching for! However, like other reviewers, I just couldn’t because of that smell. A few reviewers actually liked the smell because it’s reminiscent of old school makeup, but to me it just smells like old lady and chemical and…bleh. It’s almost enough to deter me from wearing it because the smell lingers for some time after application. But I do love the formula other than some clinging to dry patches and settling into lines, it’s nice and pigmented and like I said the color is gorgeous, so for me the smell is forgiveable, but it might be too much for some. Also this is pretty expensive for a drugstore lipstick ($9.99), which made it lose another star in my book. I’d say definitely wait for this one to go on sale! I got it when Walgreen’s had a 40% off sale on Revlon and I had a $2 off coupon.

Great color, awful awful smell and taste. This was my first Moon Drops lipstick and it will probably be my last, because while the color is a gorgeous bright coral and I will use it, the smell and taste are so off-putting. The Colorburst and Super Lustrous lipsticks thankfully don’t share this issue so I never expected to have a problem with the Moon Drops, but YIKES. The formula leaves a bit to be desired as well – for some reason it clings like glue to every tiny dry patch on my lips. Not a great look.

I got this for one dollar at the dollar store. It is a coral that definitely leans toward orange! Atleast on me I see no pinky tone. I think this lipstick I can do without but it’s nice to have it and I will be bringing it out for the summer! I will do an update but as for now its not the best on me but its such a beautifulcolor

This is a bright neon pink coral–a very 1950s color, that could look like a grandmother color on some. It didn’t look good with my light-warm coloring, but might look great on someone cooler, fairer or much darker. The Moon Drops formula is very creamy, much more than Super Lustrous, so it settles into the lines of my dry lips. A good lippie, just not for me.

I just got this color after seeing some swatches online and falling in love with the color. I already have Revlon Coralberry and really liked it and read that this was a more intense color and brighter. I believe that it is slightly brighter, but the colors are pretty much the same for me. Another thing that I read about was the smell. The smell of this lipstick is SOOO STRONG! I can’t think of any other lippie that I own that smells this strongly. It has a powder foundation taste/smell to it that lingers and won’t go away. I can already tell that I’m going to have to force myself to use this lippie, since I already have Coralberry and the color is so similar and it doesn’t have this horrid smell. I’m very disappointed with this purchase, but I will deal. I know Revlon makes great lipsticks, so it’s not a complete waste.
