   I really like most Essence lipsticks, but this one from their Matt Matt Matt line…isn’t a winning selection.

   This is a peachy/brown pale nude, it’s a nice shade (I’m pale yellow/olive and it’s not the best for me). Not so pale as to be mod-ish, muted, and maybe even sophisticated if this color works for you.

   It’s a bit stiff to apply, like the other lipsticks in the line, but goes on fairly opaque.

   The problem is the white base. If you’ve read other less than glowing reviews of lipsticks from me, you’ll know that white base and I are NOT friends.

   Whether you lip balm or not, this color will find your lip lines and camp out there if you have deeper ones (35+ anyone?). Tht base also makes it look patchy and streaky after a short time, since the thick white seems to want to move around.

   From a distance and in photos, it won’t be a biggy, but this sort of performance bothers me, even in affordable lipsticks.

   Most Essence colors are better – just saying.

   PS – this line does have the typical Essence fruity smell. They only have lipstick numbers on the bottom, though the shades DO have names. Annoying.
