Ugh this makes me look like a 10 year old girl barely venturing out into nail polish… The polish is pretty in the bottle but applies on the watery side & most likely needs a 2nd coat. It’s mostly shimmer than color. Overall, it’s a very neutral, very shimmery & sheen baby pink.

I was SO excited by this polish when I first saw it on my nail. Stupidly so. It’s the perfect color. It’s neutral from far away, but the polish really sparkles up close. I can wear this to work without raising eyebrows while not getting bored with the color.
However, with each nail I finished the product got thicker and thicker. I had to redo a couple nails before I finished and I had to call it good enough on multiple nails because I was trying to fight the polish. There were definitely spots where the polish was too thin, streaked, or blobbed, but they were hard to see unless you were inspecting my nails under direct light. Despite all the trouble I had getting it on, the polish lasted quite a while. I had almost three days chip free (that’s a lot for me), but the polish still held up pretty well for a while after.
Attempt two was worse. Technically I guess I painted my nails…technically. It was like trying to paint my nails with runny cottage cheese. Again I had to repaint a few nails before calling it good enough. Like before, the polish itself lasted a long time. As in “The last 10+ days were a hot mess but hey I showered, and oh look at the pretty color of my very slowly chipping nail polish, that’s something” type long.
I’m very disappointed. I would have hoarded this polish if the application had been even slightly better. It would have joined the now discontinued Rimmel English Rose polish in a place of NP honor. I’m going to hang on to the bottle, if only to look at it and pout; meanwhile, I’ll try and hunt down a dupe.
Edit: I was at the store, it was $2, and I really really want to be fully in love with this…so I did repurchase. It kind of makes me feel better since none of the dupes I’ve found have been quite right. I’m far too emotionally invested in this nailpolish.

Hush Money is a gorgeous shade of pale, cool toned rose gold with silver microshimmer throughout it. The colour is subtle enough to be considered a neutral shade, though the shimmer makes it pop. It would be suitable for work or other conservative environments however, as it isn’t overly flashy or sparkly. Despite the colour being very cool toned, it did look lovely against my warm toned, NC15 skin so I believe it would look good on everyone – cool, warm, light or dark! Rose golds tend to be flattering and this is no exception. The formula wasn’t my best friend however, it is a little thin and brush-strokey, however most of these brush-strokes level themselves out as the polish dries. It is a little runny so I recommend using three very thin coats for an opaque and even result. I also recommend using a light hand when applying. However, once you have gotten used to the formula, it is easy to manipulate and apply evenly, the self-levelling nature of the polish is a massive bonus in this incidence! This is a lovely polish, and I highly recommend trying it out. Practice makes perfect and the end result is stunning. A better formula would have made me rate it a perfect 5, but I would still recommend this shade to anyone.
