I dont think that this alone is sufficient for an eye look, because there are no matte shades, but the shades in and of themselves are beautiful! I have the naked palette, not the sunset one (pictured here) and the shades are so nice. They are soft, not powdery at all, RIDICULOUSLY pigmented, and are a great lid color for any neutral or glam eye look. The third shade is my favorite, it is a stunning rose gold shade. It is $10, which I think is a couple bucks more than its worth, but its still very affordable, id say.

I bought this with hopes for shade 2 – a yellow-gold. It was sort of underwhelming then (so I have been avoiding it) and the formula doesn’t like a wet brush (gets hard and doesn’t perform much better).
Overall, I just didn’t like it – too many copper/bronze shades (the last 3) for me, which make my eyes look sort of dull. The third shade is pretty – a sort of Rose gold, the first shade is just sheer glitter, the last shade is a weirdly muddy dark bronze due to some black oddly incorporated.
I made sure to use all the colors in different combinations. Fallout and sort of dry/fly-away but apply ok with fingers. The last three shades had good pigmentation applied with fingers – and I don’t like those colors :/.
There is also at least one shade in this palette (or maybe just the fallout in general) that irritates my sensitive eye. I feel like something is in it and it waters intermittently.
Wear time isn’t all day. Over ELF’s primer this dissolves around the crease a earlier and a bit more than most shadows do on me (oily lids).
Packaging was good – solid, black compact case with a mirror and crappy double-sided foam applicator.
Anyway, I have lots of sheer glitter bombs and better yellow-golds. I am not keeping coppers-bronzes since I don’t like them on me, and I won’t keep this palette for one shade that I probably have dupes for. I’m giving this to my 9-yo to play with – she has been begging me for some eyeshadow.

The pigments of the natural shade palette showed well on my medium skin tone, shimmer was a slightly too much to my liking so I mix it up with other matte eye-shadow. I thought this was a wonderful buy!

These are definitely the better quality eye shadows that ELF has released. Although it didn’t really excite me, it is appropriate for everyday wear to work since it’s not ultra metallic/glittery but instead, a nice shimmer. Most of the colors look similar on my eyes. It’s not a bad palette but nothing wow that I feel is a must need in my collection.

If you like the colors of these shadows and appreciate shimmer, go for it. These have a metallic finish so they might not be too kind on older eyelids. I personally have 2, the pinks and the neutrals/golds. They are SUPER pigmented. I just wish I liked the colors more. The pinks/purples one is a little bit too clownish whereas the neutrals/golds is a little bit too brown toned and warm. But – I knew this before purchasing, so it’s nothing against ELF.

I bought this in Sunset. I might be rating this a bit harshly; I think it is a solid 3.5 out of 5 lippies, but I’m rounding down because this is one of the “pricier” E.L.F. products ($10!!) so I was kind of expecting an upgrade from the typical drugstore eyeshadow sextet.
Anyways, this is by no means the worst eyeshadow set I’ve used, and I will most likely not be returning it, but it’s not really excellent either. I will say this- these swatched well in the store, whereas the other one I was looking at (the baked eyeshadow set) literally didn’t even swatch! Zero color payoff. So, all things considered, this might be the best eyeshadow option E.L.F. has to offer. Unfortunately, it’s not up to the standards of their brushes, or contour and blush palettes.
The shadows are pigmented, but all pale-to-medium-toned; I’d love to see a darker shade thrown in for good measure. This is clearly a shimmer palette so the absence of mattes is forgivable, but the shimmer here is of a middling quality, kind of dry, crumbly and not as finely-milled as anything you’d see from Tarte, Too Faced or any higher-end brand. Wet n’Wild eyeshadows are actually much better overall. I also noticed the staying power wasn’t anything noteworthy.
These do have a fair amount of pigment and blend well, and if you’re well-versed in brush usage, layering and making eyeshadows work for you, these could be used to make some lovely combinations. This is definitely not bad and the color selection is eye-catching and attractive, but I have a slew of eyeshadows from the drugstore alone, not to mention any number of palettes from Sephora, that kind of blow this out of the water, so it will be a toss-up whether I decide to hold onto this or not. I think these eyeshadows might be the kind that benefit from being moistened before applying them, so I will try that next time.

I bought the sunset palette because I thought the hues were gorgeous and the finger swatches were full of pigment in all but the lightest shade.
I only use shiny shadows on my lid, and these are shiny and have glitter all through them. Swatches can be deceiving and I had a hard time getting these to show up when applying. I finally used a wet brush with the e.l.f. glitter primer which was better but, nowhere near the pigmentation I first saw. Then they just faded after a few hours into sheer glitter.
Some of the colors in the d/c $1.00 quads were better than this.

This review is for Smoked. I have a hate/love for this thing. At first, I hated it. It swatched nothing like the metallic swatches I had been seeing. I don’t know if my palette was old or what, but after swatching it thousands of times, I eventually hit metallic loveliness. It was like a layer needed to be scraped off the top. Unfortunately it didn’t last and the quality shifted back to sheer patchiness. It required me to use a makeup setting spray to get it to the quality I desired.
Also, wear-time wise, it doesn’t just fade away but rather it melts and ends up on other areas of my face.
Plus after looking at other reviews that mentioned irritation, I realized this palette was giving me problems. It’s just one of the colors (not the white or purple one, and I rather not retest this just to see which shade it is) that causes my eye to have such a gritty/something is in my eye feeling that last hours after removing all product from my eyes.
