Amazing stuff,my ex used to do special fx makeup and he would always use this back in the early 2000s and I remembered it being really good. Sone when my brother got me a gift certificate to Sephora I decided to buy it.Its an amazing setting powder and I’ve used many.I use this over my HG Wet n Wild mega cushion foundation and my skin looks flawless.Love it.

such an underrated setting powder! love this stuff! I have used setting powders from both high end and low end and this stuff sets like a dream! my foundation stays put on my oily skin for hoooouuurrsss. matte and perfect all day. is this too good to be true?! I certainly hope not!

Awesome powder, especially you are oily/shiny. Usually my skin gets oily in under an hour. This keeps me matte for hours, which I’ve never had before! The price point isn’t terrible, if you consider the price of other loose powders sold at sephora. Like other loose powders it can be messy, but I don’t find it terrible at all. I personally wouldn’t recommend for anyone with dry skin. It will emphasize your dry patches. I apply this before my concealer (I don’t wear foundation) and after the rest of my makeup is applied, then spray some Evian water and voila! My only problem with this product is that it is scented. That being said, it thankfully doesn’t break me out. But in the summer I know the scent will attract mosquitos to my face…boo. overall I will repurchase. If you have super oily, shiny skin, try this!

I have a devil of a time finding powders. I’m combo to oily but talc makes me itch. I use a lot of silica powders, but they can be white casty (even on my translucent skin) and look a bit dry and easily inhaled when applied. I got this in soft light. It’s basically colorless, but the slight color to it makes it not have a white cast. It doesn’t look dry and it works great with my combo skin. I’ve used elf HD powder for years, but I think this gives a more skin like finish. I had been mentally preparing myself to get the NARS crystal translucent setting powder as it’s a great silica powder with a bit of a sheen to make it look more natural. I like this a lot better and it’s significantly cheaper. Win!
Edit 10/18/17 I’m knocking this down a few lippies. It does not control oil well enough. I find myself shiny within an hour and having to reapply. It’s an ok powder. I can use it to protect my face makeup from eyeshadow fallout. But it’s just not doing enough for me oil wise.

I have this in no color and soft custard. I love that they’re vegan and have no talc. The powders are very fine and fragrance free. However, they don’t really keep me shine free that well. The soft custard isn’t yellow like Ben Nye Banana powder, which I was hoping for as the Ben Nye has talc in it. The no color is truely colorless just like RCMA colorless powder(which I also prefer). I will no be repurchasing, although I do LOVE their cream foundations!

Very finely milled. Colourless as claimed. I prefer this to the Ben Nye neutral set, as the finish is a touch more matte, less detectable, and if applied properly [rolled onto the skin with a velour puff (then dusted off)], particle for particle it also lasts longer. The container is a bit more handy as well. There is a sifter included allowing for dipping and tapping off for just the right amount.
Both powders list talc as their first ingredient. However, Ben Nye has aluminum hydroxide second, while Cinema Secrets lists rice starch. As far as these (antiperspirants) go, aluminum hydroxide is quite low on the hazard scale, provided you aren’t applying it like crazy in sweltering hot climates, giving it a chance to react. As for the latter rice starch, it just straight up helps you fight acne, naturally. The only “may contain” disclaimer Cinema Secrets lists are titanium dioxide and iron oxides. Have no fear, the dreaded combo of flashback hell is in too low of concentrate, so you’ll photograph well, candid to HD.

I use this setting powder with the foundation. They have different kinds from colorless to ones with a slight tint. I use Soft Custard for my fair/medium skin and it helps set the foundation nicely.
The package is simple and pretty cheap looking but the product itself is great! It helps me stay non-oily and keeps my skin feeling matte all day.

Cinema Secrets offers a very good, standard setting powder that is very fine (“triple-milled”) and very matte. It’s talc-based, and it has kaolin as an antiperspirant. It comes in colorless, but it also comes in several sheer shades. Currently it’s one of my preferred matte powders. The no-frills plastic tub gives you a massive amount of product but no puff. It’s good for times when I want my face to look super matte–other times I’m fine with the satiny finish of Lunasol, Suqqu or Koh Gen Do. I’d repurchase.
