Because I STILL cannot force myself to fork out the cash for St. Tropez: I tried Body Drench self tanning mousse from Sally’s for $12. Simple, mousse-pump bottle.
I have a good, long lasting tanning mousse that I have used in the past. Looks good on very pale folks like myself. It just fades unevenly sometimes and stinks of DHA for a day after applying. I can live with that for the price.
BUT:
My husband is a sweetheart and so accepting. (Never mentions my questionable and sometimes hilarious cosmetic mishaps and choices.) And, this summer, he requested I discontinue using that tanner. Because of the smell. So I purchased something new out of love.
It sucks. It’s orange, it’s uneven, it rubs off stains everything and washes off completely in the shower. BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE THE DHA SCENT. It smells like flowers.
The bottle clearly states that it should last a week with one application. I followed every and all directions, and I looked like a sweet potato dusted in brown sugar. The marshmallow topping came the next day, when it randomly completely wore off in irregular patches. Save your money and go get the St. Tropez. Or spend a little less and get the L’Oreal tanning mousse.
