Oh my GOODNESS! This is it for me — the BEST lipstick!! I had turned in frustration over to using lipliner as lipstick. But no more. This STAYS, colors are GREAT, affordable, and nothing weird in it. LOVE! I threw out all my other ones and kept these. I have about 6 shades, and looking to add more. 😉 Non-drying yet matte. PRAISE GOD.

Eh. Not bad but also not great. I got the shade matte craze. It’s a gorgeous color but it’s just so stiff and patchy and makes the lines on your lips show up that it’s not all that worth it. Also, the plastic top part of the tube keeps coming off. Eh.

I bought this in Pretty because I wanted to try out more dark pink MLBB shades after trying Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink in Lover and finding that the tone was flattering despite being nothing like my usual shade picks.
Well, Pretty is not a dark pink MLBB. It is more like a peachy pink muted neon flushed shade. I wouldn’t call it particularly bold or bright, more of a flushed warm yellow-based peachy pink look. I’m NC20 and my natural lip color is corpse-purple-pink-beige for reference.
This lipstick has a sharp citrus/fruity scent that I like but I’m sure those sensitive to scents would not. It has no taste. It does apply more on the dry side, even with exfoliated and moisturized lips, but once on it has a light and slightly moisturizing feel. The finish is matte but not the dry and crinkly matte, more of a no-shine natural-lip-texture matte. I actually don’t mind the packaging at all–it’s lightweight, compact, and securely clicks shut. Product does smear onto the inside of the cap occasionally, but maybe I’m messier than most lipstick wearers.
For me, I won’t repurchase and probably won’t even finish this tube because of the lasting power. My lips eat up anything, and this is definitely not transfer-proof and can’t last through talking or drinking water. This doesn’t claim to be long-lasting or a stain, but for me there’s no reason to wear this instead of a tinted lip balm that applies smoothly and is more hydrating without any more shine.

I own this in the color Frappuccino. It’s the perfect chocolate color for my skin (I have asian skin, fair, more on the yellowish side). Such a beautiful color, I haven’t been able to find the similar color from another brand.
The price is super affordable, color payoff is great, lasting power is okay.
I don’t really like the packaging as it feels kinda cheap, but then again the price is cheap because they don’t package it in fancy packaging.
I gave 2 lippies because this lipstick just sucks the moisture out of my lips. I don’t know if this happens to anyone else, but when I’m wearing it, it feels like something is pinching and scrunching my lips after awhile. It does help a bit if I put on lip balm on top of it. Putting lip balm before application really doesn’t help much as it will still give me that weird pinched/scrunched feeling after awhile.
I’m not sure if I’m gonna repurchase this. The price is awesome, the color is super beautiful, I just can’t stand that feeling of my lips being scrunched/pinched.
I guess would not repurchase this if I can find similar color with better quality, however as long as there is no dupe, I would repurchase if I ran out as I love the color so much.

I bought this in Bare when I was still trying to find a nude-MLBB that would look good on me. (None do – learned I’m a Bright Winter, no wonder it was so hard!)
Anyway, while the color isn’t for me – it’s a warm brown with rosy tones – the product itself is very worth buying!
The formula was a smooth, creamy semi-matte. It has a big slanted bullet (think WnW MegaLast – which gives me cystic acne) but it is contained entirely in the tube and doesn’t stick out. Yay! Cheap plastic tube colored similarly to lipstick shade, clear plastic lid.
I won’t rebuy this shade but I WILL be buying some of their brighter new shades like Dahlia! Looking forward to it!

I’ve had mixed experiences with Jordana colors in the past, so I was a little hesitant about this, but wanted to try a brown lip and figured this brand would let me experiment without breaking the bank. I bought Modern Matte in Matte Frappuccino and was pleasantly surprised. It has the usual Jordana lipstick scent, which some people don’t like, but I’m okay with.
I like the buildability of this color, and the formula was creamy but solid enough that I had control about where and how much I was applying. Sometimes Jordana lipsticks are too solid/waxy to apply easily, but this one had just enough glide to it. It doesn’t last through food and drink, but it fades evenly and doesn’t dry out my lips like other matte brands. The color was pretty flattering, though it’s warmer than I would have preferred. I think a cool-toned brown would be a nice addition to the line. The packaging looks a little dated for 2017, but is actually pretty modern for Jordana.
Overall, it’s a nice little brown lip that’s good for beginners to the brown lipstick trend.

Actual score is 3.5, but I am rounding up rather than down due to the affordability. I love Jordana’s 99 cent range lipsticks, but I wasn’t all that impressed with their Modern Matte line. First of all, compared to the regular Jordana lipsticks, the color selection kinda sucks. It is mainly pinks, nudes, and a few more bold colors. The formula is pretty nice, and it wears well, but it isn’t nearly as matte as Jordana’s matte lipstick formula. I do not like the flat, wide bullet as it gives less control which is especially annoying for colors that are darker or more dramatic. The packaging is cute, but the wide bullet and the clear acrylic cap means that lipstick will get all over the inside of the cap and make it look super dirty. I don’t think I’d buy this again unless they come out with more colors, but it also isn’t the worst drug store matte lipstick I’ve tried either. I’d rec this after NYX, Wet n Wild MegaLast, Jordana matte, and Milani matte in that order.

I got this in Matte Bare, a natural medium deep pink with nude/very slight orange undertones. The color is a good MLBB shade for me.This isn’t completely matte (it does have a very slight moist look but it is not glossy in the least) . Still, being a matte, it is drier feeling than your average lipstick. On the positive side, it’s longer wearing than my usual tinted / pigmented balms and glosses (full disclosure: this is the first “real lipstick” I have bought in years). I usually use it over clear balm. I will also add clear balm over the lipstick and then blot as well, for a even more muted look. It has a sweet vanilla scent, not bothersome to me.
I gave this an extra star for the color, as it’s hard for me to find subdued colors like this in the drugstore. Most look okay in the tube but go on looking garish on my pale olive skin. There are a few others subdued colors in the line I haven’t tried yet, like matte Blush, (a probably-too-light-for-me pink), Matte Classy (Medium/light pink mauve), and Matte Pretty (medium/light pink with brighter undertones).
Thought this was great for the price, $3 at select Walgreens in my area (Walgreens does not seem to stock this online).
Postscript: I liked the Matte Bare shade so much that I went and bought Matte Pretty. It’s a rose pink color, somewhat subdued like Bare, but lighter and brighter with less nude undertones. Same comments as far as texture apply. It does have a dry feel that takes some getting used to and I prefer to wear over and/or under balm.
Postscript2: I liked these so much that I went out and bought two other shades.
-Matte Classy is a pinky brown shade similar to Bare, but with plum undertones. It’s a bit too purplish for me so I either use it mixed with Bare (very nice natural stain) or in conjunction with the Blush shade as an eye shadow (see below).
-Matte Blush is a beige pink color which is too light for my lips but I bought it to use as an eye color. I was having trouble finding a cream eyeshadow that is long lasting and not too greasy and this fits the bill. So far I have had no issues using this as an eye color, but proceed at your own discretion…

Bought this on a whim and omg HOLY GRAIL. I use it EVERY day now. It is super pigmented, goes on creamy and has good staying power. I have modern matte and at first I thought it was too pink but I am obsessed with the color now and don’t feel like my face is “done” until it’s on my lips. I will re repurchase as long as they make it (and will buy a few to stash away in case they stop!)

These finally came to my Canadian Dollar store in Toronto, however, they cost $8.45. Even w/ the supposed exchange rate, they totally jacked up the price. That being said, I only bought one for now. I purchased “Popular”. It’s creamy and pigmented. I’m an NC 40-45 so it’s kind of a statement color, but not over the top. I look awful in blue based pinks, but this one is more purple-ish, so suits my complexion well. I don’t think I’d wear it to work, but I wear it constantly all the rest of the time ever-since I purchased it 2 wks back. It applies smoothly, does not leave streaks and lasts for hours w/ a stain thereafter. I do need to put 2 coats on to get the full effect, but that’s b/c my natural lips are so dark. I’m disappointed that the price is almost $10 (for what it is in the U.S.A.), but I will probably re-purchase more colors.
