I love the formula of this product! It is very creamy and actually lasts on my lips. Check out my full review of a different shade of this product and many more at jsmakeupreview.com or follow this link:

I’m on the fence about this product. I love he colour but I’m not a fan of the formula. I got the small version in a 500 rewards points set from Sephora.
This is a colour I never would’ve chosen for myself, because I thought it looked a little too purple for my very very warm undertone medium skin. Most pinks or purples tend to clash with my skin, and I was so surprised to find this didn’t! It’s a lovely colour, just different enough from a regular nude MLBB that it looks like you’ve put in effort in your makeup look, but not so out there that it still looks casual and everyday.
However, I’m not a fan of the formula. It more often that not applies rather patchy, or even if it does go on smooth, becomes patchy eventually. It definitely doesn’t look natural as it fades, it clings to certain parts of the lips (grooves, outer edges or dry parts). It’s longevity also isn’t great. It’s creamy, but not moisturizing enough to wear without lip balm underneath, which I find shortens the longevity even more because it makes the lipstick more slippy.
For now, I’m enjoying this mini size and it’s beautiful colour, but I won’t be repurchasing. There are better lipsticks out there in my opinion, especially at this price point.
Note: I got this in December 2017, so this review is for the older formula! I swiped on the new formula in the store today and thought it applied and faded far less patchy, but still clung on to the flaky areas and grooves. Might be enough of a difference for me to repurchase though!

Got lucky. Found this at Tjmaxx for 7.99. I love it. I wouldn’t pay $20 for it though. It’s a gorgeous color. It’s also a color you can find in Nyx, Elf and other brands. It is thick, and the color is a brick red with more crimson in it. It is still a unique color in that sense.

I love the new formula of the Studded Kiss lipsticks. It’s so much creamier and more comfortable to wear, but I find it still lasts and lasts!
I purchased Cathedral and Lovecraft and they are both now my two top lipsticks. I may also grab Gold Blooded to have a red from the range.
Cathedral is a gorgeous rusty brown shade. On me, it tends to pull ever so slightly toward red without escaping brown territory. It’s warm, earthy, and looks great with a sort of 90’s grunge style. Even my husband adores this shade on me, citing it as his favorite above any lipstick he’s seen me in. It doesn’t dull me out like a lot of brown shades do; in fact, it seems to make my complexion look warm and bright!
The price has dropped with this new formulation, but the tube yields .4g more product, so good on KVD for making these more affordable while improving the quality!
The packaging is still adorable. Now, instead of a chrome tube, it’s all black, which fits my aesthetic quite well. I love to keep the closed case on my desk at work because it’s so chic, and I love looking at it.
I will definitely be picking up more from this range. As I said, Gold Blooded is on my list, but Nahz Fur Atoo might have to make its way into my collection, since I loved that shade in the liquid lipstick range (and my lips are SO over liquid mattes).

This is a review for the new creme version of Cathedral.
BRING BACK THE MATTES! The creme version of Cathedral is just not the same. It’s more brown than mauve or pink. Although creamy, the formula itself is a pretty heavy. It accentuates dry lips. The formula doesn’t dry down and wear the same way the OG Cathedral does. Sadly, I’ll be returning this.

This is definitely the best lipstick I’ve ever tried. It matches my skin tone so well I’m an NC44 at Mac and it’s really flattering. It’s a mauve brown for medium to darker complexion that I definitely recommend. Does not dry my lips as other lipsticks do and it has a great staying power. It’s the perfect pink brown mauve which does not wash me out like other brownish colours. Great balance of undertones. Would buy it again for sure

I rarely fall in love with a lipstick, but this is one of the few times I did. I received a free sample of Cathedral and almost immediately bought the full side, because at the rate I was using the sample it would not last me long! The full size is $21 at Sephora. The staying power is pretty good, although you will have to reapply after a few hours and after eating. The color itself is fantastic, as it seems to go with many different looks, day or night! This is one of my favorite lipsticks in one of my absolute favorite lines and I could not recommend it more!

Cathedral is described on the Sephora website as “matte cocoa rose”. I guess that description is pretty accurate. Cathedral is one of those shades that you can apply easily on days when you don’t want to put too much thought into what lipstick you want to wear, it goes with many looks and I think would be suitable for many skin tones. Comfortable to wear, easy to apply, does not get gummy nor gunky nor turn funny colors. I do find it only lasts on me a couple of hours before needing to re-apply. Does not last at all through a meal, not a trace. It is not drying for me at all. It does settle into my (aging 46 year old) lip lines, so it is not a ‘perfect’ lipstick, but still very nice. This shade seems very similar to to me to Lolita; so I would say if you have Lolita, you probably don’t need Cathedral, unless you just really like both of them or maybe they look different on you. Cathedral is just a touch more orange on me, whereas Lolita is more rosy/brown. Cathedral is also one of those lipsticks imo that can make teeth look yellow, so there is that.
This is a nice enough lipstick, but imho, very dupable, with dupes that perform better for me. On me, Cathedral looks exactly like Maybelline’s Touch of Spice; and while this KVD lipstick is nice, I dare say, I think the Maybelline Touch of Spice gives Cathedral a run for it’s money, shade-wise and performance-wise. FWIW, Touch of Spice does not settle into my lip lines, making me look like I have ‘old lady lips,’ whereas Cathedral does. So, Cathedral is a nice enough lipstick but imho many similar shades out there that perform just as well or even better, and many for a fraction of the cost. This also does not contain a lot of product in comparison to some tube lipsticks.

I resisted trying Kat Von D Beauty for a long time…not exactly sure why, but I’m glad I got over it as this is a great lipstick. Great nude, pinkish brown in a sturdy tube with a great name. I smell a lovely vanilla, but the lipstick has no taste. I want to get more colors from this line!

I really love this lipstick. Packaging is a nice, high quality tube that clicks easily into place without having to line it up or anything (so can be open and closed with one hand). I do not get smell or taste from the tube. The color is absolutely gorgeous. I was going to by Lovecraft (which I also got) and this is a deeper version of that L/S. It is a warm, mauvy brown that I think works really well on pigmented lips. I reach for it often. I use a burt’s bees balm under and it goes on smoothly, no tugging and has wonderful staying power and no bleeding. The finish is a velvet matte, which makes it so comfortable (but it does transfer like a regular lipstick). This does not dry out my lips, but like i mentioned, I like to use a balm underneath. I love this l/s and I use it all the time. I have this one, Lovecraft, and Lolita. I love them and would buy more, but I do not really want of the other colors. I wish they would come out with more colors so I can buy more of them. Great Lipstick.
