Final Update: 12/2019 This serum was $60 when I first started using it (years ago). Now, it’s $116. I finished my last bottle a couple months ago, and I just can not justify paying so much (even with 20% coupon) for a serum who’s manufacturer’s won’t disclose the amount of Vitamin C in their product. (“It’s proprietary”) Also, the manufacturer decided to increase its profit margin by no longer sealing or boxing its product.. so when it’s received it has sometimes spilled (do not spill the liquid gold!!) and there’s nothing to guarantee it hasn’t been tampered with along the way (even when it doesn’t open and cheat you of it’s expensive contents, the lid will be loose). It served me well over the years, but it’s time to part ways. I have a hard time finding products I can use due to all my allergies.. but Garden of Wisdom will custom make a fabulous Vitamin C serum for a very reasonable price.. and you’ll know exactly how much Vitamin C you’re getting. Also, Paula’s choice Resist Antioxidant Serum has a very impressive list of ingredients (it hasn’t added my allergens yet!) and the price is 1/4 of this Citrix serum— and the PC serum has the SAME multiple forms of Vitamin C, right at the top of its ingredient list! (The consistency and wear is complete different, but I’m happy to save the $70 difference.
I’m not changing my rating from a 5, and I’m not going to change to “will not buy again” because, truth be told, if it was still $60-$70, I’d still buy it if I couple find a solid promo coupon. It’s a good product. The price point is no longer reflective of the product’s worth.
Update: Am on my 4th bottle of this.. this is HG for me. This is a very thin serum that spreads easily, a little goes a LONG way on your skin, dries down quickly, makeup applies well over it, no stinging (I’m very sensitive & allergy laden), and I had visible results the very next day after my first use. It’s expensive (for me), I purchase with a 20% Off promo code–and wait until it’s on sale. It’s worth every penny.
This serum contains no coconut derivatives, no nut/seed derivatives–includes none of my numerous allergens.
There is a barely-discernible orange scent, which dissipates in a few seconds.. (Orange/citrus & Vit C usually burns my skin & gives me hives.. not this product!) I like the ingredient list! Am especially happy it contains Superoxidedismutase as well as other beneficial ingredients. All my FAV/trusted skincare products have been reformulated with coconut derivatives (caprylic- ), and/or nut/seed oils. It’s a GodSend to find anything I can use! Am extremely limited.
My skin is 56 years old (well preserved, but have some fine lines and 11’s between my brows). Am dry/flaky in some places and extremely oily everywhere else. Oil control products don’t work for my Uber-oily areas. This serum improves my dry patches, gives a great canvas for makeup, doesn’t sting when used around my eye area, and actually reduces my oil production. My makeup looks fantastic over this! My skin is very-noticeably brighter! My pores are tighter and less visible. My face is regaining much of the radiance it lost over the winter (and due to the loss of my reformulated products). Because so little goes a long way, I’m using this on the backs of my hands and on my sun-aged forearms. The light sun-freckling is much-faded, my skin looks younger and my coworkers have made positive comments About what I ‘must be doing.’ Now that I’ve found something that works amazingly well, I’m afraid it’ll be reformulated so I can’t use it (like everything else). Am going to buy back ups as I’m able to budget for them.
