Holographic Flare is a spring/summer 2018 addition to Barry M’s Molten Metals collection – I can’t find info for if this is a permanent addition to the collection, or not. The polish has a muted green base, that is filled with linear holographic shimmer. The intense holo makes the slightly dusty base appear silvery in some lights.
The formula is the perfect balance between thick and thin and is pigmented enough to be opaque in one coat with a heavier application, though I do prefer [and recommend] to apply at least two lighter coats of any polish for better wear. The formula is buttery smooth, self-levelling, fast drying, hard wearing, and using my usual topcoat doesn’t dull the holo shimmer [I’m currently using a A England one]. I was never a big Barry M fan, but this polish got me to go online and check the brand’s site for the rest of the Molten Metals collection – mainstream holos for £3.99?! I need them all…

Holographic Flare is one of 4 polishes added to the Molten Metals line. It’s a mint-to-sage green polish with holo particles. The holo effect is not as striking as what you can get in Indi polishes, but impressive enough for a drug store brand. I like how innovative Barry M are with their polish ranges – it is my favourite drug store brand.
I used 2 coats for full opacity. It does dry a little dull (slightly matte), so will need a shiny top coat. It looks better in bright light, when the light is catching holo particles.
This might not be my favourite holo, but I like it very much and for £3.99 it’s a steal. Can’t wait to try the others from this collection.
