Cheap junk that caused me to experience bad effects to both my hair and health. I have been moved on from this brand, because I happen to value the health of my hair and body very much, and would never recommend Ecoco products to anyone. Ecostyler gels only grew in popularity because of how cheap they are. However, Eco Styler gel never has been and never will be the best gels out there on the market period. They are definitely not flake free, their gels are super drying to the hair, which is why, a lot if oriole on YouTube that use them always have to pair an oil and or moisturizing leave in underneath it, I order to keep thrir hair from being rock. Because because without adding stuff in combination with this stuff to ones hair, it would leave their hair ROCK hard. I have only used Eco Styler gels for slicked back buns, and all this stuff did was make my hair super dry, super hard, very crunchy, and cause my hair to become brittle. I have also experienced breakage from Eco Styler gel too. Plus, I have never experienced styling gels cause quite a number of side effects to my health like Eco-Styler gels have done. I decided that it was best that I stay far away from Ecoco’s products, I stopped supporting Ecoco period, out of severe lack of trust towards thus company, and have completely moved on from them, and would never recommend their products to anyone period.
I only wish that I could rate this product a -1000, because that’s exactly what Ecoco and their products truly deserve to be rated.

I really wanted to love this. At first it was great. It had a great scent and was very affordable and I could throw it in when I needed to quickly fix my curls and it made my first day curls look great with no gel caste and a medium hold. However by the 3rd day I would have to reapply it. The worst part was that it began to make my hair fall out. It wasn’t my normal amount of shedding as I was finding loose hairs on me constantly. I later found out that these gel have a lot of protein in them. I’m not sure if my hair is able to handle protein or not as my leave in also has some protein in it but this gel just has way too much. I still have two small tubs of it I need to throw or give away. Will never repurchase. 🙁

This product gives my fine 2b/c hair some moisture and a little hold, but doesn’t work on it’s own for my hair. It weighs my hair down and has to be used under a harder hold gel. I can’t get more than 2nd day hair with this gel because my hair ends up looking greasy. How i use this product: I apply a leave-in conditioner to soaking wet hair, then squish in this gel. I’ve started to apply a gel on top. I like this gel under the Eco Styler Krystal for beautiful waves/curls.
Pros:
*You can’t tell that I’m wearing gel when I use this on soaking wet hair.
*My hair is super soft!
*Very moisturizing
*Inexpensive
Cons
*No volume
*Hair gets greasy looking quickly
*No lasting hold
*Very sticky
This product isn’t terrible, it just doesn’t work for my 2b/c wavy hair. I’ll finish this huge tub, but once I’ve used it up, I’ll likely not repurchase.

I absolutely love this gel! My hair is natural but this gel makes my hair do whatever I want it too. If I want more defined curls, it makes my hair curl and if I’m looking for sleek edges, this gel allows me to achieve that look as well. It’s extremely affordable at about $3 at your local dollar store you can’t beat that. This brand also comes infused with olive oil or Moroccan oil. You can get it black or clear and it doesn’t flake! Love this stuff.

When I discovered the massive tubs of Eco Styler at my local beauty supply for about 5 dollars, I nearly gasped aloud, “Hallelujah!”
Eco Styler has been my go-to styling product for the past few months. Not longer after I wiped out a huge tub of the clear Eco Styler Crystal variety I came to settle on the Moroccan Argan Oil version. One thing that I genuinely love about this gel is the fact that it is easily available and the price is better than reasonable for the huge vat of gel you get. Other people out there with dense, long, curly hair will understand: we go through a TON of product- namely conditioner and gels/stylers. I am no different. For this reason, I really appreciate how Eco Styler is fairly priced and offered in a larger container versus a bunch of smaller ones.
The consistency of both types of Eco Styler I’ve tried are rather on the heavier side and definitely feel much thicker than other gels I’ve used in the past. While this does help give my hair a little more hang initially, it can make distributing the product through out my wet hair a little more difficult. It’s also worth noting that the Eco Styler Moroccan Argan Oil has a max hold of 10 on the company’s scale of hold. Perhaps the other Eco Styler versions with less hold are thinner?
I’m not going to lie either, my first day curls with Eco Styler are always HARD. I mean, extremely crunchy. I usually duck away from errant hands reaching out to touch my curls on day one. Whenever I attempt to use less of the gel, I don’t get a great of definition and my hair frizzes much sooner than it might have otherwise. Despite the initial solid hold, Eco Styler gels don’t give me the longest lasting curls of any gel I’ve ever used.
If anything, I kind of feel like my hair has become drier as I’ve used Eco Styler. I believe that a lot of this is attributed to the darn Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein that makes it’s appearance early on in the ingredients list. Before I switched to Eco Styler gels, my hair was much easier to keep hydrated and lasted longer without the frizzing. It also felt much softer and not quite as indescribably “tough”, which is what leads me to believe that Eco Styler has a little too much protein in it for my extremely low porosity hair. If it wasn’t for that, Eco Styler would probably be my HG styler.
Will I repurchase? Probably not. There aren’t really any better values out there for those of us in search of high holding silicone-free gels but I’m willing to spend a little more money on something more moisture and less protein based. If your hair isn’t that sensitive to protein, I’d still say give it a try- just maybe get the smaller jar first.

I saw this on sale at Sally’s and couldn’t believe how cheap it is for this HUGE tub. I know have read a lot about Eco Styler crystal gel on various websites/curly hair communities, so I figured I couldn’t go wrong. the first few times I used it I had a really hard time with application because it is SO THICK and at the time my hair was about halfway down my back. I recently cut off more then a foot of hair and was struggling on how to style it with this new cut, which motivated me to experiment with some of the much neglected products in my stash. (I am a huge product junkie, as many curlies can relate to – always on the look out for that prefect product) and I found myself really loving it, though there is a learning curve to it.
To get this to work, my hair must be really wet still, and It need to be sectioned out and really worked through the hair or I will end up with sections w/o product, and you can totally tell because those patched looks frizzy and dull. Because it is so thick, working it though the hair can tend to straighten pieces, so once I have it distributed I reshape those sections with by wrapping them around my fingers and then scrunching with my ‘curls like us’ towel to bring back the volume. I ‘plop’ my hair while I do my makeup, then either let it air dry or use a diffuser if I dont have time (my hair takes literally hours to dry, even when it’s this short!) When used correctly, I get amazing results. It gives my hair a lot of hold w/o being too crunchy (any crunch is easily scrunched out) and I’ve never had issues with flaking or white residue. It give my hair insane shine (I think that may be because of the oils, but Im not sure as I have never used the other eco styler gels to compare) it makes my hair look so healthy and the volume I can get with this is great! I love how it give me big hair AND defined curls; I dont have to settle for one or the other. The hold is great! It lasts all day; provided that I done mess with it too much.
Even though it has some oil in it, it is not enough for my dry hair, so I always use this with a leave in for the best results.
I took away one lippie because it is sort of hard to apply and takes a lot of working with it, but the results make it totally worth it for me!
