Pointless to get if you already have a silicone-rich moisturizer for your skin type. Most (if not all) primers out there are rich in silicones, it’s the silicones that help the skin make-up products sit better. Based on how my skin reacts I suspect silicones dry out the skin in the longterm. So I avoid using moisturizers like that daily but only use them on the days when I’m going to wear skin make-up.
I understand some primers offer more than just the silicones’ effect. Like some are a bit tinted or have some shineness. In that case it makes sense to get a primer in addition to a (silicone-rich) moisturizer of course. But this primer is not that. It’s just a silicone-rich moisturizer. I have Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur which is also rich in silicones. It’s not titled as “primer” but it works like one. Definitely better than this Bobbi Brown product I would say and is cheaper. I go fragrance-free on face products and I didn’t like this has some scent.
As for the “pore perfector” claim, I didn’t see any difference on the look of my pores.

Somehow this product made me incredibly greasy and oily where I applied it on my t-zone. Tried with multiple foundations, same result sadly. I usually love Bobbi Brown, but will sadly give this one a miss.

This is the absolute must have product in my make-up bag. I smooth this on after moisturiser and let it sink in a bit before doing anything else to my face. It goes on easily, smells good and somehow it blurs imperfections so I don’t necessarily need foundation. I bought this to blur out my very visible pores and the fine lines under my eyes. After a year of using this daily, my skin looks better than it did before I started using it (quite a feat at 38!). I use it under my Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation and under-eye brightener for a natural, polished look. People who comment don’t think I’m wearing any make-up, they just think I have good skin. As a base, this is really effective. If I blend everything carefully with a brush and set it with the Bobbi Brown loose powder, this really helps my make-up last a full work day without touch ups. The little tube lasts me 6 months of daily usage and I don’t just replace it when it runs out, I keep extras stashed away in case of emergency.

The product feels good on your skin to the point of temptation wherein you just want to keep on lathering it. The lavender scent it has on though is pretty strong (hence the relaxing scent can sometimes even make me sleepy). It does help keep my makeup in place but with regards to what it says it’s supposed to do – smoothen skin and minimize pores, it does have satisfactory effect in terms of skin smoothening but it has fair to minimal effect on the pores. I think I’d still choose other primers over this.

Here we again. Lavender Oil. Strong, heady, overwhelming and just plain unnecessary.
This “pore perfector” has no ingredients proven to reduce the size of pores whatsoever. Let’s go back to basic dermatology. Pores aren’t windows, they don’t open and close. The only thing that can keep pores regulated and small is the use of a well formulated chemical exfoliant (salicylic acid) and a gentle cleanser. Make sure you aren’t using anything to heavy in your skin care/makeup routine and experiment. Pore size is determined by your genetics and also how much sun damage you have accumulated over the years. THAT effects the size of your pores. AKA Collagen and Elastin that can no longer go back to its small pore shape.
Texture wise this is a matte drying, smooth finish of silicones combined with Lavender Oil and a small pinch of skin care ingredients. For the price your paying, this isn’t worth it. It is just another layer, and I’d hate to see the irritation this could possible give to those sensitive to fragrance or fragrance constituents.
P.S I have tried this under under the BB skin foundation stick and it didn’t mesh seamlessly and just looked caked over the top no matter how much I blended. Not good.

YUMMMMM
If I could give this product 1 million lippies, I WOULD.
First, a little history about my skin:
My skin seems to ALWAYS have acne. I was on prescription topical acne medication which cleared up most of it, but I was never truly acne free. It’s something I’m just living with now. And because of this acne, my skin kind of has a texture and scaring to it that is slowly going away with the right cleansers and the AMAZING Clarisonic.
My skin is VERY oily. I’m talking so oil even my oil free, mattifying foundations would just melt off my face.
Yep! I hit the jackpot when it comes to skin! Hahah
Now about this product:
My oily skin ADORES this primer. I’ve tried every primer from high-end expensive ish that would just show my pores even more to the cheapest rimmel primers. NOTHING WORKED.
I was just about to give up and accept my skin for all of its horrible glory until I stumbled upon this tube of MAGIC.
Once I tried this on my hand, I got a sample made for me at Sephora. It smells like deliciously CLEAN lotion and applies as such. It’s white creamy lotion-y consistency and just automatically makes my complexion feel beautiful and healthy. I used it under 3 different foundations (Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, Estee Lauder Double Wear, and Kat Von D Lock-it Tattoo Foundation) and EACH glided on like a dream and made my skin SMOOTH and FLAWLESS looking. I felt like CRYING.
I adore this product so much that after three days of trying the sample, I bought the (somewhat expensive) tube from Sephora.
If you have skin you just want to give up on, PLEASE give this a try. I haven’t broken out from it at all and I wore it under my foundations for at least 10-11 hours per day.
