I bought this palette because the colors looked great for every day neutral and I had always had great experience with MAC makeup including their eye shadows.
The colors are lovely but there is NO pigmentation at all. Even if I swatch with my finger which normally produces an artificially intense color, there is NO color.
I will try to make it work because it was so expensive but I wish I had read reviews before spending the money. I have some cheap palettes like Colourpop which deliver normal pigmentation.

I coveted this palette for AGES, and received it as a gift for Christmas. I love the colors. I just wish that I could say the same for the quality of the eye shadows. These are NOT MAC quality shadows. Most have ZERO pigment. Even packed on. I’ve done layers and still look like I have nothing on. The darker shades are better, but the light and mid-toned shades are a waste of time. I’m so disappointed!!!
Edit: Ok, I have found a way to make these work. If you use a primer, like Urban Decay’s eyeshadow primer, the colour payoff is much better. They’re still not super pigmented, but at least they are workable. I’d still recommend going another direction though, if given the choice.

I have both the Neutral Warm x15 & The Neutral Cool x15, I love both even if I am NC20. Seems kind of counterintuitive that both would work but both of them are neutral over all. I was looking for an easy way to increase my MAC e/s collection, for $65 on Macys.com seemed like a no brainer. I now have approx 45-50 MAC e/s (not including brownluxe/copper luxe too & a couple other palettes). I should count. And only like 2 repeats! I thought that was pretty amazing I would go for 2 x15 palettes yet not have any of them as singles except I think Naked Lunch & Saddle in other palettes (not in this palette). These 2 palettes are more e/s than I’ll ever need or use up. Very nice palette u should get both! ESP if ur very neutral toned. I’ve never met a MAC e/s I did not like! & the black is good for lining. Cozy Grey is really pretty prob my 2 faves in the palette.

I bought this last year when it cost me $80+. It is now on sale for $65 or so. I recently had a chance to play with this palette and ITS TERRIBLE. Maybe I got a faulty palette but it sucks. This palette isn’t pigmented AT ALL. It’s so sheer like the shade of clear lipgloss. Not just one shade BUT ALL THE SHADES. What a waste of $80. If you want a cool neutral taupe/purple shade palette get the Laura Mercier artist palette. Much more pigmented than this $80 palette. My wet n wild palettes have WAY more pigment for 1/16 of the cost!

In a sea of neutral palettes (many of which I own), it can be hard to find one that stands out, especially with the vast majority of them consisting of very warm toned shades. Then I came across MAC’s Cool Neutral 15 pan palette. How refreshing! Admittedly, there are a couple warm-ish shades in there (Deception and After Dusk strike me as quite warm) but that’s ok by me! There are more than enough cool shades to balance things out 🙂
Let’s look at my experience with Neutral palettes before we get into the nitty gritty shall we? I own all of the Naked Palettes, including both the Basics, Stila’s “In The Light” palette, Too Faced’s Natural Eye palette (the Re vamped one that comes in the tin packaging), SmashBox Brown Eye kit, Kat Von D’s “Innerstellar” and a couple handfuls of MAC singles, mostly of the warm variety. So basically, I have used a ton of what the eyeshadow palette world has to offer! This has made me a somewhat hard to please consumer. I live in Canada, so get to experience all 4 seasons and something I have found with most of these palettes is that they cater most to the bronzy, warm and sultry tones that are best suited to Summer and Fall seasons and more tanned skin. What I love about this MAC palette is that there is something in there for ALL seasons to suit my changing complexion as well. You’ve got your “icier”, paler shades for winter (in particular, Flounce, Pick Me Up, Silver Fog and French clay), for Spring time, Flounce, Sweet Allure and Sun Tweaked are gorg, For Summer and Fall, Crushed Clove, Deception, After Dusk and Blackberry are wonderful. These are just some suggestions of good colours to match for the seasons if you’re so inclined, but obviously since these are neutral anything can go!
Because of the variety of finishes, you can get a look that is appropriate for any occasion, from conservative to fun! Matte or satin beiges or taupes can pair with the satin Brun or matte Blackberry for a very subdued eye, while beautiful, sparkly Black Tied can be added to ANY colour combos to bring your looks up to night out on the town standards! And let’s not forget about that stunning and complex Pearled Earth shade!
All in all, this palette comes as close to a perfect palette for me as any others have so far, with Kat Von D’s “Innerstellar” coming in close second (will do a review on that at some point as well!). There is no scent to the shadows/palette either like I found to be the case with Urban Decay and Kat von D especially. The scent of those doesn’t bother me, but it is there. I find there to be MUCH less fall out with these shades than there is with many other brands. As for sensitivity, I don’t seem to have any so everything is good there! Texture and such will vary due to the variety of finishes. Pigmentation may not seem to be as good as with Urban decay for example, but something I like about that is that is easier to control your application, which is excellent for when you’re half asleep putting makeup on, haha
As for the packaging….I like the sturdiness of it and how the lid is clear. I like how when it’s shut, it stays shut, yet it’s not difficult to open. I like that it’s thin. It’s not compact but I wouldn’t expect it to be considering the fact that it houses 15 full sized shadows. The downside of it however is that it is not reusable (not without a lot of effort). It is not like the empty palettes you can buy and add refills to. Which will become highly unfortunate when I eventually run out of a shade (thinking Cozy Gray might be first as its the main transition shade in palette). Granted, it will take along time before I get to the point so I won’t worry about it too much, but it does suck.
I hope you enjoyed this review and that it has helped you in making a decision on which neutral palette to buy 🙂

This is a great palette. Fantastic colors. Everyone of them is good- not a dud in the bunch. Nice mix of shimmer and matte.

This beautiful palette includes: Flounce, Sweet Allure, Sun Tweaked, Blackberry (permanent), After Dusk, Pick Me Up, Crushed Clove, Cozy Grey, Deception, Brun (permanent), Silver Fog, French Clay, Cumulus (repromote), Pearled Earth, and Black Tied (permanent). While the cost is about double the usual Naked or LORAC Pro palette, considering it would cost you $160 to create your own 15 pan MAC palette and the usual MAC quality, it is a good deal. I JUST received this in the mail today, as I am writing this, and will update once I test out all the shadows for wear time and such. I just wanted to get this review up because there wasn’t any yet, and no product in the database, so this way people can find it! Especially since so many MUAers aren’t allowed to add new products to the database anymore.
