Possibly THE WORST impulse buy ever. Luckily I got this at a loreal brand friends and family sale for only USD 25.
Packaging is incredibly beautiful, luxe black and gold finish, but that’s where the merits stop.
It’s a compact cream foundation that dries to a powder-finish. Although it’s marketed as being matte, it has micro shimmers (which honestly looks beautiful upon application of a swipe).
However, once it goes on, it accentuates ALL wrinkles, dry patches, etc.
the weird texture just doesn’t work, even after I moisturized with heavy duty moisturizer, it looks dry and cakey.
Oddly enough, it doesn’t really cover acne scars, despit it’s claim to be medium-buildable coverage.
Worse of all, it leaves my combination skin a darkened oil slick after just TWO hours! What the hell! I have tried all ways to make it work, but it simply doesn’t behave after an hour or so.
Don’t waste your time and money on this product. YSL should be ashamed to put out such a rubbish foundation out there under it’s brand and sell it for the price it does (retails for $88 I believe).
Now what to do with the case? I want to believe the cushion foundation with the sponge will be better (maybe they are interchangeable), but this product has just ruined my impression of the brand.
