Propylene Glycol is the number one ingredient. Not great to be putting on your skin. Didn’t have my glasses with me when I bought this otherwise I would have left it on the shelf.

I like this serum. It has a light yellow color and I contacted Obagi customer service and they confirmed it is tottaly normal. When I applied first time I had that tingling feeling and I believe it means that serum does work. Not sure about brightening but I definitely noticed the glow it gives me. Smell is a bit weird but I m ok. As suggested in previous reviews I store it in my bedroom draw not in the bathroom.

I’ve used this serum for 3 weeks. For the first week it stung my skin, but my skin soon adjusted. It feels highly active. I love it! I have noticed brightening of my skin and an increased radiance, so far. I will update in another month. *i meant to give this product a 5 star review- I don’t know how to delete the previous review*

The best thing I ever put on my face. And I’ve splurged and saved and tried out a lot of sh#*. But nothing quite compares to this little heavenly serum. And it seems to give results instantly. Does anyone see that also?

I used two bottles of the 15% and then tried the 20%. The 20% made me break out like crazy-I have flawless skin with not a pimple in years, the I started using this and then within a few weeks I had tons of painful pimples. I thfew out the bottle and went back to the 15%.
The 15% has only four or so ingredients jn it – a simple and effective formula. The 20% for some reason has bucket load of different ingredients in it and at least one of them is very comodogenic!!!! I don’t know why the ingredients lists are so different between the 15 amd 20%.

Let’s just get to the point. This has been very disappointing. I did loads of research before purchasing this serum. I have a couple of sun spots, one that I’ve been trying to fade for quite some time. It’s under my eye…an especially horrible location as it makes me look tired! I had high hopes for this serum because of the great reviews. I’ve been using it as directed. I use SPF and avoid the sun. I’ve been using this serum every day for at least 8 weeks and yes, my skin feels nice, but this hasn’t brightened my skin tone or faded any spots. I am not sure what it’s done? I will likely use this until the vial is empty. I have not had any issues with the packaging or with using the dropper. A little goes a very long way and I still have quite a bit of product left. However, as this didn’t actually do anything visibly to my face, I won’t be repurchasing. It didn’t work for me.

This is the most amazing skin product out there. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and my skiing is glowing, clearer, pores have diminished, and skink looks firmer. What else can you ask for in a skincare product?!! I just ordered my second bottle. It’s expensive but worth it. I have tried lot of vitamin C serums because I know they work but nothing has given me the results I got from Obagi C serum 20%, not even Skinceuticals, and I’ve tried various versions from Skinceuticals. I hope I continue to see good results from Obagi C serum because I’m really loving how my skin looks right now. I use this once a day in the morning under my Eltma MD sunscreen. In the evenings I use prescription Retin A. I’ve been using Retin A for years but didn’t see the results that I’m seeing since adding Obagi C serum so I know it’s this product that has made the difference. My red acne marks are also fading since adding this to my skincare arsenal.

I purchased this about 3 months ago. Because of the cost I almost returned it. But Thank Goodness I didn’t!!! This stuff is amazing. I would definitely recommend this !!!

I cannot stress enough how great this product is. I swear to God I have tried anything and everything imaginable to treat my acne and red spots. I have oily skin, with acne breakouts (around chin area), and red spots. I have tried everything in the market and honestly I was getting to a point of just giving up. I am 28 years old and skin care at this age is when it becomes crucial to help with the aging process.
A few months ago I started out using the Obagi Nuderm system. It was pricey, I needed a retina prescription, and the products were not very easy to find. I spent over $600 on 2 months worth of products. I diligently used it for 2 months and I saw some minor changes in my skin tone and noticed some firmness, but that was it. For $600 bucks I better see major changes. I wasted a lot of money, time and effort for really not much of a result.
I decided to switch over and try the C-serum, per some recommendations. I was hisitant, but desperate at the same time. I gave in and ordered the product. Let me tell you, it was basically magic! I noticed a HUGE difference within the first week. My complexion has become SO much brighter, firmer and just overall even toned. I have been getting compliments left and right.
What works best for me is; I start out with the Obagi foaming gel, followed by the Obagi toner, then I use about 5-7 drops of the C-serum (I let it soak), then followed by either a moisturizer at night and anything with SPF for the morning.
This has been my skin care for less than a month and I swear my skin has never looked better. Stop spending your money on all those expensive products and purchase this serum, it ain’t cheap, but a bottle lasts you forever and it really benefits your skin!
Those of you who are struggling whether they should start with the Nuderm system, don’t bother!! C-serum is what will help you in the long run!

TL;DR If you’ve been using another a Vitamin C serum with lackluster results, which aren’t related to your improper usage and/or storage of said Vitamin C, I highly recommend Obagi 20%.

Have been using Vitamin C 1 – 2x daily for more than a year now, although started using Obagi 20% 6 months ago and never looked back. The benefits I’ve seen are similar to what others here have already said: drastic reduction in post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, overall brightening of skin, consistent evening of skin tone and texture.
In my experience, Obagi 20% delivers results faster and provides superior antioxidant protection from the sun than competitive products in its category (that I’ve tried). These include SkinActives Vitamin C Serum, NuFountain C20 + Ferulic Acid, Timeless 20% Vitamin C + E + Ferulic, Cosmetic Skin Solutions Vitamin C Serum, Sano Naturals Vitamin C with Hyaluronic Acid.
If you’re new to L-ascorbic acid, do your research as its a notoriously finicky active. When you’re not using the product, I strongly suggest you put the bottle back in its box and stash it somewhere cool and dark. In the past I’ve been admittedly lax about this, and of course paid the price when my last bottle promptly turned a deep orange-y yellow within 15 days of opening it. Had to chuck it. Learn from my costly mistake and avoid bathroom, medicine and kitchen cabinets as storage options. Some people put their Vitamin C in the fridge; I haven’t personally tried this.
You can buy it online at SkinStore.com, DermStore.com, or LovelySkin.com. They’re all authorized sellers of the brand, and always have random discounts that makes this product retail for $90(ish). The in-office derm cost for this product ranges between $100 and $120, depending on mark-up.

Lastly, there often a lot of confusion about properly using Vitamin C for maximum results. Most common questions I see, with ELI5 responses based on extensive Google research and personal trial an error…
Q: “Where should C serum fit into my current routine?”
A: Cleanse > Vitamin C > BHA > AHA > Non-actives according to preference (i.e. Tone, Moisturize, etc.)
*** EDIT *** I’ve added BR P50 into my daily routine, which has changed up my product application order. I now do Cleanse > P50 > Vitamin C > 80 million other products. ***
Q: “How long should I wait after applying C Serum before I move to the next product and step?”
A: 20 minutes, ideally. I find that if I don’t wait the full 20 minutes in between C serum and the rest of my actives, my face feels tacky. If you can only wait 5 minutes, oh well, it’s better than nothing! Just don’t go back-to-back-to-back with chemical actives. Buffer by giving your actives adequate time to work their magic on your skin.
