I got this on a discount at TJ Maxx, so decided to try it. For whatever reason-THIS STUFF DOES NOT DRY! I have to blowdry For over twice as long as I normally do. Once I get it to dry my hair looks very full and non-crunchy and great. So that’s good. But that lasts For about 3 hours until it collapses again and looks Greasy limp.
Clearly it doesn’t work For my very fine hair.
Will not be using up the bottle – I’m going back to my HG john frieda root lifter!

I used this stuff years ago and thought I loved it back then. However now it leaves a crunchy stiff feeling to the roots where I have applied….making it difficult to comb through.

I wasn’t impressed with this product. I have very thick medium length hair that tends to get limp and heavy and the roots. I tried this product a couple of ways. The first application was strictly followed per the instructions. I applied to the roots on damp hair and blow dried my hair (even blow dried it upside down for optimal volume). I got nothing! Once my hair was dried, I needed a strong hold hairspray and teased the crown of my hair and at this point, I got some volume. The second application was on dry unwashed hair. I still got no volume and still needed the help of hairspray for volume. This was yet another expensive root lifter that doesn’t work. What I liked about this product is that is smells nice, doesn’t crisp up the hair and it isn’t sticky.

I was expecting much more from this product based on the reviews were but not only I don’t get any volume on my long curly hair but I really dislike the pump system used.

This review is entitled: Ode to the Perfect Curly Afro.
Yes… I didn’t know what I was looking for in a product, until I found it. Strangely enough, I went to Marshalls looking for discount Rusk products, and ended up with 2, 2pack containers of Biofoam root lifter, 1 tube of Rusk Priming Cream, and 1 dropper bottle of Rusk Sensories Wellness Bedeau. (FYI)– FREE bottles of the Rusk Sensories Wellness oils if you order through the RUSK website. $6.95 shipping and handling…
OK back to my epiphiny. I did everything you shouldn’t do as a curly gurl today. I was studying for finals. Barely slept. Wore the same clothes I slept in for my final. Didn’t have time to shower. Yes, and didn’t have time to really wet down my hair. What I did do, is spray some stuff to get it wetish, and then laid on the biofoam, the Wellness oil (to make it soft), and then the Priming Cream. And then pinned some of my afro up and back with some bobbi pins, to have a lifted front and slightly punk look, and styled with some additional Lets Jam Hair Gel. I washed my face, put on some makeup, and a jacket and ran for the hills.
Firstly, got the first compliment of my new “au natural” curl look. Rocked my finals. Also noticed, despite the rain that my hair… moved! Strange when we are putting leave in, gels, and pomades, to actually find a controlled style that isn’t frizzy and can….move… Really different.
OK, back to the goodness. Its now almost 3am, still haven’t slept, but amazed at how great my hair looks and feels. Its exactly the afro that I envisioned. Its really a curly fro! Amazing! Its soft, touchable, and controlled. Curly, not frizzy, and really, well… beautiful!
So, try this stuff out, and go to Marshalls or TJ Maxx and try to get the kits. I paid 12.99 for one kit ant 9.99 for another kit. (that means around $5-$6 per product)! Great for miss student on a budget.
Oh, yeah, my hair is kind of a 3c, and 4a. I have about 4 different textures going on, and its been really hard to find a product that doesn’t cost a zillion dollars and actually delivers.
Simplify your life and routine… try these products, add more or less gel, more or less oil, and rock on!
I’m a newbie to this natural hair thing, so yous more sophisticated ladies probably already know how to mix the oils into the fixatives… However, there are cones in the product… but my hair feels amazing. I am totally overlooking some of the no cone talk.
Prepare to be amazed… Coming from an ethic sister… Cheers!

I like this product because of the hold factor. It’s a spray on gel that comes out like mouse foam. I don’t really need any volume in my hair but this works well for my curly hair.

A real disappointment! I have medium length, straight hair, and I was hoping this product would give me the lift that I need. This product does absolutely nothing for my hair. I am using it on the roots, after I have washed my hair, so my hair is damp, as suggested. It is like I am not using anything at all. I even blow dry my hair upside down, and still, no lift. The search continues for the product that will help me to get the lift I need.

I have quite long, wavy (almost curly) hair. I don’t blow dry it because then I’d look like the bride of Frankenstein. So I know this is supposedly a product for blow drying, but though I don’t do that I can tell a *huge* difference in the way my hair looks when I use it vs. when I don’t. It gives SO much texture, separation, and body. Even my husband comments on the difference when I use this. I don’t use it every day, because I’m a SAHW who is a few weeks away from being a SAHM and I don’t ‘do’ my hair every day — heck, I don’t even leave the house every single day. But when I do use it, wow, I am always impressed with the way my hair looks. It’s easily the best styling foam (or any kind of styling product, outside of hairspray) I’ve ever used. I was able to find this on Ebay for much cheaper than it sells for in stores. You can buy several bottles at once on Ebay for quite a discount. I recommend highly.

Wow, this stuff is amazing! Gives me an incredible amount of volume yet keeps my hair soft, not crispy! Will def. buy this over and over.

if you want volume without the crunch this product is the one! i have been using blofoam for years now and i cannot go a day without it. it adds the right amount of texture to my naturally soft hair that will not style without this.
