I was searching for a delicate cream for my sensitised, dry patched skin. Unfortunately this product did not live up to my expectations at all. While it’s branded suitable even for hypersensitive skins, a cream that “reconstructs the skin in depth”, what actually did was “burned” my skin even further and wildly broke me out at the same time. I also found its perfume overpowering, not bad though, but a rather bad choice IMHO for an emolient targeting intolerable skins.

I recently went overboard with my retinol. After 12 years you think I would know better !!!
It left me with peeling flakey skin which is usual – but also patches of ultra dry almost abraded skin. Nothing in my arsenal helped. Nothing. No creams or oils and I have a ton .
The girl in the drug store suggested four or five different creams , and luckily I picked the right one. This stuff worked in a 24 hour period. Peeling gone. Patches almost healed. I’m still in awe to be honest.
I’m not a La Roche Posay user , but I will be now.
If you use retin A or 1 percent retinol , this stuff is seriously HG status worthy at helping get moisture back. !!!!!

Sadly, this broke me out. I have very combination skin with hormonal acne, very oily t-zone, mostly normal cheeks, quite dehydrated all over, especially in the winter. I generally try to treat it more like dry/dehydrated skin with acne, it responds much better to that than it does to drying products for oily/acne-prone skin. I use a regime with a lot of LRP products and find that it works well, for the most part – MAC Cleanse Off Oil, LRP Effaclar cleansing cream, Serozinc toner, their soothing toner, Effaclar Duo+ alternating with Redermic R, Effaclar H moisturiser and one or another of the Hydreane/Toleriane moisturisers. I like all of them, but none of the moisturisers are quite cutting it at the moment, I need more and end up using way too much of them.
Hence the Nutritic, which is much heavier and richer than any of the other LRP moisturisers I’ve tried. I really do need the extra moisture, but I developed a lot of new spots after only a few days, both typical cosmetic reaction spots and a heavier breakout of my regular acne pattern, so I stopped using it. Too bad, I’m having a hard time finding a moisturiser that is rich enough right now, but this one just didn’t agree with my skin type. I think Nutritic Intense Riche might be a good moisturiser for truly dry skin types, perhaps, rather than dehydrated and combo skin. It did moisturise very well.
Also, the fragrance is a lot. I don’t mind the lighter fragrance present in several other LRP products I use all the time, but this one is both a heavier scent, much stronger and hangs around on the skin for quite a while after application. That feels unnecessary.

On my 4th bottle.. I have very dry skin and it helps with that.. It haven’t caused acne to me, so I think it is different from every person. And I have very sensitive skin 🙂

I have sensitive, dry skin prone to redness and some adult hormonal acne. I love the LRP Toleriane line and wanted to try this cream to help with some patches of extreme dryness on my cheeks. Sadly it burned my whole face. After the first application my face started stinging and I got very red. The morning after my face was red and blotchy and I had even gotten some excema below my eyes. Without washing I applied some Toleriane Riche which never aggravates my skin but the burning immediately came back. I washed my face so as to remove all creams and reapplied the Toleriane and no stinging!
Since then I’ve used the Nutritive Intense Riche on my horribly dry hands and it has helped immensely when nothing else has so I think it’s a great cream, just not for those with very sensitive facial skin. I don’t like the packaging though, it feels unhygienic to put my fingers in to the jar.
Update: since my review I’ve tried the cream a few more times without it burning but instead it’s broken me out badly, especially around my eyes!! I’ve never broken out on my upper and lower eyelids before and it looks and feels horrible. This cream just does not work for me at all. I also feel the scent is too dominant for a face cream.

This face cream really surprise me. I usuaully prefer thick white cream for my combo face.(la mer cream is one of my fave but it is too pricy ,so i have been looking for alternative all the time),i was very satisfied with how i feel wih this cream on my face, creamy and i feel it even my skin tone ,reduce a bit of redness .non greasy look at all ,so i can use it as day time lotion.I am very happy to find this great product!

I’ve used the LRP Nutritic line for many years. This product is wonderful! At first I was surprised LRP went with jar packaging on this since they seemed to be the leader in closed systems but I get it. First, the product is too thick for tube and second, jar package isn’t as scary as people think. The product isn’t so volatile that it will lose it’s beneficial properties if used in a reasonable amount of time and air doesn’t get trapped as it does when a tube is compressed.

I LOVE THIS CREAM! It smells nice, not too strong at all, soothes my skin and hydrates it. My skin stays soft all day long and is no longer dry. The formula looks thick but its actually thin and a little goes a looooonnnnggg way! I used this day and night for 3 months and just finished my first jar. The thick glass jar is a quality packaging with a nice lid and it doesnt leak so it is travel friendly if you cushion the jar. The price could be like 5$ lower (its 35$ canadian before taxes) but, it is La roche-posay and it is an AMAZING cream so im definitely repurchasing it!

Dislike packaging. Product is wonderful! Expensive but worth it. Layers of skin were peeling off my face and this took care of most of the damage in one use!

This is THE BEST THING that has ever happened to my skin!! I suffer from incredibly dry skin during every season except summer and this is the only product that keeps my face from flaking like crazy. I cannot recommend it enough, it leaves my face covered in a sort of film, but not in a heavy, greasy, sticky etc unpleasant way, but rather a protective one that’s the perfect base to for the followup regimen. Makeup looks great over it, and so does any SPF lotion I have tried. Ah yes, best use one as this has no UV filters included.
BTW, there are even days in which I can cheat and skip moisturizing altogether and my skin doesn’t revolt… this hasn’t happened in years!!!
I could go on and on but bottom line is that skin-wise, this is the best product I have found to really make a difference to EXTREMELY dry sensitive skin.
