Does exactly what it says on the description, minimises pore immediately after use. I leave this on for about 10 minutes and rinse off, my pore size is reduced (temporarily) and my skin feels matte. A comfortable mask to be used twice a week for oily, acne-prone skin.

I don’t like this face mask I feel it irritates my skin and leaves it very dry and red! I read good reviews on this and despite not having fragrance or alcohol it doesn’t work well with my skin. It doesn’t leave my skin poreles or smooth like many other masks I’ve tried. Too expensive for the results provided so I wouldn’t repurchase!

I love facial masks, and there are many to choose from, but so few that are fragrance free. Clinique Pore Refining Charcoal Mask has been perfect for the oily portions of my face (Tzone). I use it weekly, applying very thick on the troubled oily areas. It is a bit too intense for my drier cheeks, so I use it over the whole face only occasionally, or mix it half and half with Clinique Moisture Surge Intense for the dry areas only. The product is cooling with a slight tingle, a sensation I’ve come to expect with masks that have a very high clay content.
As with most clay masks, removal can be difficult if it is left to dry too long. Irritation can occur if rubbing vigorously to remove the dried clay. I usually wet a hand towel, microwave it for 30 sec, then grab two diagonal corners to make a triangular shape that I can wrap from chin to forehead, with a little spot for my nose. The warm, moist towel will loosen the mask, making it easier to remove. Plus, it feels good, as long as it isn’t too hot when applied.
Afterward, my pores are minimized, and skin feels fresh and clean without being over stripped. I have found the product to be non-irritating with weekly use. I can envision using it more frequently as a spot treatment, perhaps leaving the mask on for a shorter duration. Even with how thickly I apply, the tube has lasted almost 6 months, so it is a relatively good value.
Overall, the Clinique charcoal mask reminds me of much more expensive products I’ve used in the past, and is equally effective and less irritating than those super high-end products. I would definitely purchase again!

I have combination skin with a very oily t zone hence bought this (in my 30s)
Applied it aĺl over my face but it irritated my skin and made my cheeks very red. Okay for an oily t zone but other than that wouldnt use it.
Also the 100ml package is a complete waste.
Applied it to my father however and he loved it…it actually cleaned up some of his blackheads and he loved it. Will probably gift it to him.
As previous reviewers have pointed out its perfect for very very oily and tough skins. For a sensitive combination skin like mine would like to find something else.

Great for deep cleaning and I love that it’s fragrance free. Fragrance free is always best bc perfumes can cause collagen breakdown.

I have combination skin with slightly oily t-zone, normal cheeks, dry eye area. The pores on my t-zone are enlarged, not much, but still. I would definitely say this is not for very dry skin. I myself only use it on my oily T-zone.
Pros:
– It dries VERY quickly. On the box it says leave it for 5-10 minutes, I never needed to leave it on my face for 10 minutes, it was always 3-6 minutes.
– Very easy to clean with water.
– Although it leaves the skin a bit red after washing the mask off, it didn’t cause any irritation. The redness is probably more about me being too fair-skinned and the mask temporarily clogging the pores while it’s on.
– It also works as blackhead removal strips. I got the same effect with this product as the result I get when I use an effective nose strips.
– Because it does a decent job at cleaning blackheads, the enlarged pores appear smaller. I personally don’t believe any product can actually make pores get smaller, the best can only make its appearance smaller temporarily via cleaning the pores well.
Cons:
– It’s very expensive for what it does. Honestly, you could buy some dry cosmetic clay and make your own mask at home yourself and get the same cleaning result. To be fair, this product has some ingredients that are beneficial for skin like caffeine so I wouldn’t necessarily call it overpriced. But in the end it’s a mask, it only stays on your skin for couple of minutes. “Beneficial for skin” ingredients are for creams/lotions/serums for me, no need to get them from a mask too when it won’t even be THAT beneficial because again, you will wash it after couple of minutes anyway.
– The bottle is too big. 100ml to be exact. I don’t think cleaning mask should be used every day. I myself use it once a week or two weeks, and only on my T-zone. On the box the shelf life is given as 24 months after you open it. There is no way I can finish the tube in 24 months. So I’m definitely wasting some money here.
– About 10 minutes after washing it off, the oil was back on my nose. A bit weird, when I wash my face with a face wash for oily skin that never happens. I couldn’t figure out why it happened with this mask.
I won’t be buying it again because of the price and the tube’s big size. But it’s not a bad mask.

I have very dry skin, but the pores on my nose, inner cheek, and chin are clogged. I wash my face, then I apply a thick layer of mask and let it dry for 10 minutes. I rinsed with lukewarm water and gently wiped away the mask with a soft washcloth. I had to use it three times in a week to see a visible difference. Since the mask draws out oil/impurities, it made my skin feel dry, so I had to moisturize after using.

I bought this because of the good reviews I saw posted on other websites. This mask does absolutely nothing for my skin. My face looks the same before and after when using this product. It is like I am applying nothing at all. I am a total mask junkie and use all types, high end and low end and this is the most useless mask I have ever tried. I rarely return items, but this is going back. What do I like better? Dermalogica Charcoal Intense mask, Freeman charcoal mask in the white tube, Freeman Sparkling Pear mask, Paulas Choice skin balancing mask and Avon Black mineral mask. All of these listed masks improve the quality of my skin and help with clogged pores. Update: I also have recently used and really liked the Clinique City block purifying mask.

I found this to be nice and clarifying for my skin type. My skin is really sensitive, but this worked well and didn’t upset me. Ask for a sample first, if you need to see if you are sensitive or not. It’s not a miracle, but it helped temporarily minimize the look of my pores, and my skin felt really clean and matte after using it multiple times.

I was skeptical because I usually rely on makeup alley reviews for new products, but this is awesome. Came as a recommendation from an ulta employee and I have a big problem with clogged huge pores. This mask literally just sucks everything out and my pores, although still huge, are cleared, giving my Dr brandt pore primer a better canvas. I don’t have any skin issues so I bought it specifically for pore unclogging and for that it worked well.
