Terrible. I have dry skin and this foundation was the worst and it oxidized to an ugly orange color. I returned it back to the Wander Beauty website.

It’s hydrating and easy to apply. Quite good coverage too.

This was advertised as being very moisturizing with a luminant finish. I have dry skin, but even after applying this after a very emollient moisturizer it looked dry on, settling into every pore and line, making me look 5 years older. The product is quite greasy but it dries to an almost dry, powdery finish. What a disappointment given the price for such a small size. I’ll stick with my Laura Mercier Candleglow Foundation.

This is another great hit from Wander Beauty. The name says it all, it is a very hydrating stick that blends out your complexion in a few swipes. Super easy to blend, and gives your skin a nice hydrated look! Its the “no makeup” look. Great for being on the go!

I ended up with this foundation in a roundabout way. I placed an order with Wander Beauty, and I received it along with someone else’s order. I notified them and shipped the other order back to them, and they sent me a sizable gift certificate, so I decided to try the foundation stick–one of the more pricey items they offer. I put it aside for a while, and finally decided to give it a spin. Wow. This is superior to any foundation stick I’ve ever tried, and to most liquids and creams as well. It’s housed in a gold component that closes securely, and the twist-up mechanism works well (this is not a cheapie container). I’m NC 20-25; I use Light, and it’s a near-perfect match–slight yellow undertones, but leaning more to neutral with no pink in sight. This stuff applies incredibly easily–I’ve never used a foundation quite so creamy (oily skins will NOT like this)–and blends effortlessly with a wedge sponge (for lighter coverage) or fingers (for more coverage). It melds beautifully with the skin, doesn’t slip throughout the day, and just looks like perfect, beautiful, naturally even-toned skin. The finish is satin-to dewy. I find it incredible that something that applies so easily gives such long-lasting, flawless coverage. There is essentially no scent (a real plus for me) and I’ve had no breakouts from it. The ingredient list (see below) is straightforward, but not trendy (no snail slime here). Although this is pricey at $40, especially from a little-known brand, little product is needed to get a flawless finish. I’m a fan of Wander Beauty and have been pleased with the quality of every product of theirs I’ve tried–they offer reliable yet innovative basics that are built for travel. If you have normal-to-dry skin and are looking for a medium-to-full coverage foundation, give this a try. You won’t regret it (although this brand is now available at Sephora, so if you dislike it, you can return). Highly recommended.
Update 6/20/17–120 degrees here today. This foundation wore beautifully for 8+ hours (and it was a busy day) with just the tiniest bit of slipping into my nose-to-mouth lines. I used nothing special underneath–just my usual heavy-duty sunscreen (Bioderma Photoderm Laser Creme SPF 50), and blotted my face with a paper towel before applying makeup as I always do because the sunscreen can be a little slippery under makeup, but I blot afyter it’s been on for some time). No setting spray, no touchups, nothing. Incredible. No sweating off, no sliding off my face, no patchiness. I set it with the lightest touch of LM translucent powder. This one is a keeper. I want to try the concealer/highlighter combo next.

Great hydrating foundation stick. This is one of my top two favorite stick foundations. Wander has added some more color choices to this which helps. This formula is great for normal to dry, dehydrated and or mature skin, like mine. I have repurchased…

This may be lengthy, but stay with me here if you would.
I own 20+ high end foundations. I even recently got the notoriously expensive La prairie skin caviar concealer foundation. And let me tell you, for a very dry skinned lady with chronic flakiness, this stuff is seriously the bomb. I won’t go into how I finally ended up purchasing this product, but it comes down to the fact that every year I spend hundreds of dollars in search of a truly hydrating foundation that doesn’t draw attention to the flakes around my mouth and nose. No matter what I’ve done in the past, no matter how I greased my face up with expensive moisturizers and primers, every single foundation I have tried does not hide my flakes, which are present 80% of the time. This stuff has zero drag. Hides 100% of flakes. When you swatch it, it is one, smooth gliding strip of glowing makeup. No hiccups going along even dry hand skin. When I apply it, I use half the moisturizing products I use with any other foundation, including the la prairie. I apply a few strokes along my cheeks, down my nose, my chin and a strip across my forehead, and I can easily spread it for totally even application with my fingers or a flat buffing brush. No issues whatsoever. I’m serious when I say that this stuff is freaking miraculous for me personally. I am so impressed. The coverage is light medium but buildable to conceal moderate acne scars and melasma. I’ve mostly worn it by itself with no setting powder but with setting spray, and it wears very well without breaking down. I was lucky enough to acquire their powder recently from a wonderful lady, and have since applied the powder on top to increase its wear time, and I can tell you, the powder is just as phenomenal. Still no flakes! This time of year I practically weep when I think I have to try to make my makeup look decent in the morning. No more! This stuff looks like fantastically hydrated skin the whole day long, no matter how dry or dull my skin is. Seriously, I’ve given a long review here, but deep down, I’m kinda speechless. It blows everything else I own clear out of the water. There is no competition. If you have very dry skin, are looking for a hydrating, portable glowy makeup that also happens to be cruelty free, give this a try. It’s truly wonderful stuff.
