I don’t usually leave reviews for products but I feel like this is my HG toner and i found out the hard way. I have been using Caudalie’s instant foaming cleanser and this toner together for 2 years (switched to caudalie because i was pregnant and wanted natural products). Last week i ran out of both products and decided to use up whatever i have laying around (previously I used to change products everytime it’s done). I realised my face was not as radiant and my whiteheads was obvious. Just bought the two products today and I am so happy I have found my HGs

It leaves the skin feeling oily. And it smells. Like Johnson & Johnson’s baby oil. The smell was so strong I couldn’t bear it after half an hour I had to wash my face off with Cetaphil. Unfortunately this is not a good product for me.

This is my 1st high end range of toner that i bought, so far i haven’t been let down!
A bit of background info: I have oily, sensitive and blemish prone skin. I live in hot and humid conditions, about 91ºF on an average day.
I have been on the hunt for a toner which can remove excess oil, traces of makeup after cleansing (if i wear them) and most importantly my skin needs to feel clean and balanced. I’ve tried drugstore brands like Bourjois toner but it didn’t do much, and I’ve tried Bioderma toner which is average but i didn’t see much of a difference. I’ve never purchased a skincare item from Sephora itself so to me, I wanted something that could work and not cause me to break out.
I first purchased a travel sized version of the toner about USD13. It comes without a pump, so you apply the toner with a cotton pad. In all honesty I only purchased the smaller version as I was really on the fence.
For me, based on my skin type, i find that the trick is to not use too much of it excessively, as I find that my skin will start to tingle. Its not a bad kind of burning sensation, but it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. To me this stuff a little goes a long way. If you find that its too little on your cotton pad, then you can slowly add more.
I tried using it for the first few days and I have no idea if other people with the same or similar skin type as me had this issue: but the first few days my skin will tingle a bit after using this toner. As I mentioned, its not bad, but it’ll be a bit uncomfortable for the first 45 secs and the tingling sensation will go away.
I got freaked out a bit as I never had this issue before, but i looked at my face and it wasn’t red or anything. It was only the sensation. Afterwards my skin got used to it and now I don’t experience that sensation anymore. I think my skin was trying to get used to the product.
However, once that sensation goes away, the results are PHENOMENAL. My skin does extremely feel soft, refreshed and balanced. Most importantly when i touch my face, it feels clean. I’m blown away by the results because so far none of the toners that i’ve tried have never gave me these kind of results.
I like the scent too. Its not overpowering, and it feels fresh and earthy. I quite like it, and I enjoy putting it on my face everytime I finish cleansing.
Extra plus point: My skin NEVER broke out after using this product. In fact some of my blemishes have started to slowly disappear. Of course, i’m not entirely sure if its just the toner – as i apply my own acne medication given by my dermatologist, but it definitely helped in speeding up the process.
Will I repurchase? Yes, i have since purchased the full version of the toner. It comes with a pump, and i haven’t gone around to using the full version since I have not finished using the travel sized one, but personally i haven’t have had much luck with toners that come with a pump (they squirt everywhere and sometimes you just have no control!)
All in all, i’m not able to tell you if you’ll like this product, especially if you have problematic skin like me. I can look past the tingling sensation as it is not serious and my skin actually looked better after using it overtime. What I’d suggest is to possibly either ask for a sample, or purchase a travel sized version to try it out before deciding if you’d want the full version.
Overall 8.5/10! Minus points since it is quite costly, but so far my virgin experience with this brand is up there. Hope this helps! 🙂

I’m a bit undecided on this toner. While it feels nice on the skin, isn’t sticky and smells great I haven’t seen any effect since I started using it twice a day. Maybe I didn’t need additional moisture in the first place? Probably won’t repurchase.
Edit: Added a lippie because when put in a spray bottle it’s a great replacement for MAC’s Fix+ and safe to use on the eyes too. I’ll probably repurchase for this reason.

I love this stuff. Ouse it day and night after my cleanser. It helps to remove little traces of make up my cleanser didn’t pick up and it feels great and doesn’t try me out. I can’t see myself switching this anytime soon. It’s refreshing too. My only complaint is it seems to go really fast.

My skin was extremely dry a few months back when the seasons changed and that’s when I knew I needed to switch up my skincare. I bought the Shu Uemura Depsea toner (also really nice but very $$) as well as this one. This is my first Caudalie product but I’ve heard good things about the brand, the price for this toner is not ridiculous and I love that its supposed to be more natural, gentle and most importantly, moisturizing. There weren’t many reviews online so I took a chance and I’m glad I did.
This toner is doing a great job at keeping my skin hydrated in this year’s extra cold Canadian winter. You can use it on a cotton pad, but my favorite way to apply it is to pat it directly onto my skin after cleansing. That way the product is absorbed entirely by my skin and not the cotton pad. It feels slightly tacky when you first apply it, but keep patting/smoothing it in until it is fully absorbed and then move on to moisturizer. The tackiness disappears once it has dried/absorbed. The texture is thin, almost like water. The fragrance is the one thing I’m not a big fan of. Its not horrible, but its not great (the Shu Uemura Depsea one smells phenomenal). It smells sort of herbally and natural. It did not clog my pores or cause any breakouts (for reference, I have acne-prone combination skin).
The bottle comes with a pump dispenser which makes it really handy to use. It costs 28$ CAD for 200ml. It is a mid-end product so the price is pretty standard. It is cheaper than the Shu Uemura (46$ CAD) which performed similarly. The only difference was that the Shu Uemura bottle is sexier and it smells better. It is a gentle product and it definitely moisturizes and preps the skin for moisturizer.

Overall, I like this toner and repurchased twice. It leaves skin feeling refreshed and balanced. It has a slight tackiness but it disappears when you add your moisturizer and other skin care on top of it.
It has an earthy, fresh scent and I love that it comes in a pump. It’s alcohol-free, great for those with sensitive skin and free of parabens & other chemicals.
