A golden champagne shade somewhat similar to Living Luminizer but feels a little stiffer in texture and definitely has a mica shimmer to it. Very pretty, especially on medium or darker skin tones. Might be too much for light or fair complexions. I only use this in the summer when I have a tan and sometimes tap it over my bronzer when I want to amp up the glow. This is quite beautiful dabbed over lipstick to add some dimension and glow to the lips. Nothing fancy required, just use your fingertip to apply and blend. It’s simple and very pretty. I have this in my Naturally Perfect Palette (Mod) so will not likely purchase the full size as I prefer the Living Luminizer product but this is a beautiful product so would recommend you give it a try if you like a natural, organic, cruelty-free highlight option.

I like the original concept of the Master Mixer, but I bought it cause it has a pretty color and can be worn alone. You really have to warm it up to get some product, and since I like to keep my makeup and skincare away from the heat, this can become quite hard to work with. It’s a perfect highlighter, very natural-looking. Sometimes I’ll use a bit on my lips, too. However, on my eyelids, completely different story: it creases as soon as you apply it, no matter what you put under, or on top of it. It’s too bad cause I really wanted it to work on there, but I guess the Eye Polish is the way to go.

I’m quite confused about this product from RMS. I got it with Living Luminizer which I love but this one is quite different.
When I bought it, a shop assistant at the Amsterdam beauty shop Skins.nl confirmed my suggestion about using it on my eyelids – it is a pretty golden peach colour, I have warm tones in my skin and hazel eyes, it should work like a charm. Unfortunately, it is waaaaay to greasy to be used like that, creases within seconds and does not really deposit much colour = it pretty much not visible on my eyelids apart from a bit of shine. That one I have on my eyelids naturally so I not need to pay 38 euros to obtain the very same effect hahaha!
The title of ‘melangeur de beaute’ is somewhat confusing. The only way I found I made it work is to mix it with Living Luminizer 1:2 ratio (1 being MM) which can be on some days a tad bit too icy toned for my liking. Although a texture of this one is different, it does not melt so easily (would that be the cocoa seed butter in it?) into the skin, instead it seems to be sitting on top of it. I do not like the idea of patting it onto the lips either – the 1990s effect it gives applied this way is a bit too much for me.
This is the only product from RMS that I would not repurchase.

I was so excited when I first read about this. Upon application, it’s beautiful and subtle and glowy and I love that it’s natural. However, this stuff lasts for like less than hour. If you’re looking for any kind of staying power, I’d stick with urban decay highlighters which deliver a huge amount of payoff and also stay at least half a day.

I love this highlighter – I just wish it wasn’t so darn expensive. It’s a beautiful peachy golden color that looks glowy but not at all unnatural. I also have rms’s living luminizer and I have been using them both daily. I use the Master Mixer on the apples of my cheeks, and living luminizer under my eyebrows. I love them both but the price is too much, especially as there are now comparable green beauty products – specifically W3ll people’s Bio Brightener stick and Modern Minerals’s Moonlight highlighter – both around $30. Though I would seriously consider repurchasing this again, I’m probably going to try Modern Minerals next – it’s cheaper and you get more product, and it’s gotten some great reviews.

I really like the Master Mixer. I am NC20 and I have the Living Luminizer and love it. If you’re around my skin tone and you’re afraid it might be too light, don’t be. It’s light indeed, but because it’s translucent, it translates into a slightly gold, brightening gorgeous Illuminator. Back to the Master Mixer. Since I love the LL so much, I thought to give the MM a chance. I do like it, but it has some differences from the LL. 1) it’s more opaque, doesn’t have that translucency the LL has. Because of that, it gives a different, more muted glow. With the LL, the skin looks almost surreal, like an elf from Lord of the rings. The MM gives more of a candlelight type of glow. Both natural and gorgeous. 2) though in daylight I am not able to see any shimmer particles in neither of them (and i have good eyesight), under bright indoor lighting, I can see some micro shimmer in the MM that I don’t see in the LL. 3) color: I think the champagne color (it’s not rose gold, more like peach gold) of the MM will be great in the summer, but as of now, it blends so much into my skin, that it doesn’t ‘lift’ my cheekbones in the same way the LL does that’s lighter. I’m happy to have both, but if I had to pick only one, it would be the LL. If you’re NC30 or higher, you might prefer the MM.

This is what I wanted from the living luminizer. I have brown, skin, and the luminizer would show up frosty on me, unless it was warmed with my fingers and sheered out quite a bit. I could get it to work for me, but it did leave me a bit unsatisfied. Enter the master mixer-it is warmer, pinky gold that highlights and melts into my skin, no effort required. Fingers, no brushes or sponges-works great. It use it on my browbone, cheekbones, Cupid’s bow-it doesn’t disrupt my look, just improves the overall picture. Looks great on my brown skin!
