This sunscreen is an amazing primer if you wear makeup. It is quite siliconey, so if you don’t like that feeling, you’ll hate it. I like it. Your makeup will just glide on and look beautiful. It does have a rather strange smell, almost rubbery. And it only comes in 30ml, which is a shame. It goes on really nicely, leaves your skin with a very natural and beautiful finish. I wouldn’t repurchase it because of the size. I could even get over the smell, but I finished it in just a week and it’s pretty pricey for its size.
It says it’s whitening, but I haven’t seen a brightening effect, to be honest.

I have combo/oily skin. This sunscreen is amazing for this skin type, I highly recommend. This stuff dries matte, and leaves no streaky residues. It also didn’t make me ghost white. It would make an excellent foundation base. I used ~1 teaspoon for my face. I even layered it on in 2 layers to see if it would play well with the 1st layer. It did, with no problems pilling.
I exercised today with this on, 2 hours of cardio and high intensity interval training. I was completely soaked in sweat. Except my face was dry! It looked a little glowy but it wasn’t sweaty at all. Also, no white streaky residue appeared (unlike my other sunscreen I used on my neck/arms/legs). There was also no break down around my nose. I was wearing sunglasses, so with my normal sunscreen I get areas where the nose pad sits – it’s white where it ends up clumping (not sure how else to explain this!) Anyway, with the Biore, when I took my sunglasses off, there was no whiteness from the nose pads on my nose.
To wash it off, I do suggest using an oil cleanser. When I tried with water only, the sunscreen remained on my face. The back of the package actually recommends using a makeup remover.
I’m not using this for any whitening effects, as I don’t expect my sunscreen to do this. But it’s 50+ so it should help prevent the damaging UV effects.
I haven’t tried any other Biore sunscreens to compare this to, but I am extremely impressed. I’ve tried high end sunscreen x5 more expensive which has not performed as well as this. I would definitely would recommend to other oily faced people.
Addit: I acquired and compared this to the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen SPF50+ PA+++. This product 1. definitely has less of an alcohol smell (vs Watery Essence where it is very noticeable) 2. has a matte finish (vs Watery Essence which in my opinion is semi matte) 3. has a thicker cream like texture (vs Watery Essence which feels like lotion).

I am reviewing the new whitening formula with PA++++. Yay to better UVA protection.
I found this whitening UV cream not bad. I have dry skin and could not use the normal Biore spf milks or essences due to the alcohol content. This one, even though it does have alcohol in it, it seems to be not as dry as the others. Maybe because it is a cream? Not sure.
I like the high UVA and UVB protection, it blended easily, dried matte and felt comfortable most of the day. I did not see any whitening properties though. By the end of the day, I did see some dry patches, especially in the mouth and chin areas so I’d have to put additional moisturizers. Overall, it’s quite good. I will think about repurchasing if I can see whitening properties later. My favorite is currently the Mentholatum Sunplay SPF50 though.

The heaviest sunscreen in the Aqua Rich range. The feel of this sunscreen on the face is similar to those milk type Japanese sunscreen but with a little more hydration. The finish once it has absorbed ranges from semi matte to glowy (depending on the amount u apply).
This sunscreen performs pretty well in hot humid south east asia. It didn’t make my oily skin any oilier and instead offered some oil control. Hydration would probably be adequate for someone with normal to oily skin. I have only used this for 2 weeks so I can’t comment on the whitening capabilities.
Although not indicated as water, sweat n sebum resistant this sunscreen performs decently in hot humid weather. It didn’t melt off when i sweated and lasted a whole day, However I do not think this sunscreen is suited for long hours outdoors.
A cleansing oil is definitely needed to remove this sunscreen completely.

I was always looking for a face sunscreen which is: high SPF (above 30) but non-greasy, because sunscreens with SPF50 & above are normally VERY oily for my oily/combi skin. I also prefer my face to be fair.
And I found this sunscreen – Biore UV Aqua Rich Whitening Cream SPF 50+ PA+++. So far, this is the best drugstore standard sunscreen for face that I’ve used.
I stay in a tropical & very humid country (Singapore) where the temperature is above 30 degrees during the days, and the humidity is crazy high all day. So imagine my joy when I finally found this Biore sunscreen which is NOT greasy at all despite having a SPF of 50! And the best part is, it has a whitening formula! So, not only it helps to protect my face against the merciless sun rays here in Singapore, it also whitens at the same time! 😀
I normally use this as a make-up base (after primer, before concealer/foundation/powder), and despite the white liquid coming out of the tube, it blends really well into my face and leaves no greasy residue. Any oil coming out of my face after 2 hours is due to the nature of my face, not this sunscreen. Hahaha.
Though the price is a little pricey for a drugstore item, I think this so far has fulfilled most, if not all, the essential requirements of a face sunscreen for me. 1) High SPF 2) Non-greasy 3) Whitening (can function as make-up base too).
Gonna buy this product again!
