This is lovely. I adore the feminine floral scent, and it makes my hair super soft. I bought a small travel size at a warehouse sale, so it didn’t cost too much and it lasts forever. I just apply a tiny amount, less than a pea size, to my ends, on either wet or dry hair. A little goes a long way.

I received a couple of these in a deluxe sample size after I was on a taping of a show. They also included the shampoo by Shu Umera. I’m not sure what this really does. I can’t say I was wowed enough to consider spending $69 CAD on a full size bottle of this stuff. I think I prefer Biosilk, although my hair is always naturally shiny and frizz free, so perhaps these products aren’t meant for my hair?

I have fine, blonde hair that I dye every five to six weeks, and I credit this oil (as well as random deep conditioning treatments) with keeping my hair silky smooth, healthy and glossy. This oil is great for fine hair as it doesn’t weigh it down – every other oil I’ve used has made my hair look greasy. Also, it smells absolutely divine; I can’t get enough of the scent.
That being said, the packaging is awful – the dispenser really does nothing to prevent leaking, so you cannot travel with this oil in the original packaging. Leave it in a safe place, on your vanity or sink where it can’t get easily knocked over. (I had a roommate knock it over once while it was totally closed and some of it leaked out, which was tragic because of how expensive it is.) Due to the price, I try to use this product very sparingly and only once a day.

I have been using this oil for a few years and I have repurchased twice. It does not weigh down fine hair, smells amazing, and really helps the texture of hair. I did stop using this for a few months and noticed a difference in my hair’s health.
I will purchase this as long as they keep making it.

One of my favorite products. The best I’ve found to tame the frizz. Smells good too! Only complaint is it’s ridiculously Expensive

I’ve just discovered this product and love it.
I have fine, straight, shoulder-length hair which has recently become thin, weak, dry and frizzy. I apply four to six pumps of this oil a few hours before I intend to wash my hair. I sit on the bed, pump the oil into the palms of my hands, rub my palms together, turn my head upside down and spread the oil through my dry hair, roots and ends. I don’t comb it through in case I cause breakage; I just use my hands. The oil smells fantastic, and massaging it through my hair feels very relaxing.
A few hours later I shampoo and condition as usual, towel dry slightly making sure not to rub, comb it gently, and let it air dry. I avoid blow drying because my hair is so fragile. I haven’t left the oil in overnight yet, but that would be one way to apply it: massage it in just before bed, then shampoo in the morning.
After using the oil and washing, my hair definitely looks thicker, feels softer, and in general looks much healthier. It moves differently. It looks more the way my hair did several years ago. Even my husband said it looked thicker, and he rarely notices that kind of thing.
Another way to use it is to apply one pump to dry ends, not before washing but as a styling aid. I didn’t notice this make any difference in terms of thickness, softness or appearance. I’ve noticed others say they work one pump through wet hair after shampooing and conditioning, so I’m going to try that too.
Two criticisms: the price, obviously, is an issue. The second issue is that the pump sometimes doesn’t work. For this price, I expect the pump to work always.
But overall it’s a wonderful product that I highly recommend.

I keep buying expensive Shu Uemura hair products at the recommendation of the stylists at Suki’s in Vancouver. I want to love this product but every time I try it I am reminded that I don’t. I apply it only to my roots. It feels nice in my hands and I feel like it will make my hair smooth and soft but my hair becomes stringy. i guess i could live with this. Is it the new fashion to have a little oily looking? The oil travels up the shaft from what I can tell. It is just not my bag to pay so much for a product. The bottle pump broke about the first month of purchase. This happened with another shu uemura pump bottle of mine. Amazing that a company that charges so much can’t even ensure a working dispenser. I buy this hoping to treat myself. I will stop myself next time.

Very expensive for a product that provides no results. I have very dry bleached blonde hair and did not see any benefits to using this product. It smells nice though.

Gorgeous product!!!
I have fine & flimsy Scandinavian hair and wearing bangs/fringe involves lots of products and procedures to make it somewhat straight. My goal is to have shiny and straight bangs so I’ve gone through most products and several hair stylist advice to achieve this. Results has varied, mostly it’s been too much heat, oil and hairspray. Not anymore.
This hair product works wonders!! I am 1 week into using it daily and so far my bangs could compete with the weight and shiny look of Katie Holmes bangs. I am so happy I listened to the good reviews and spent the extra money on this product. My bangs has never looked better! And it works just as great on my lengths too.
The only downside is the packaging. The plastic bottle and the quality of the pump doesn’t feel in proportion to the price paid. Feels as flimsy as my bangs (before this product). But that won’t stop me from using it and buying it again.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE!
I got a sample of this hair oil at my salon and used up the little bottle after two hair washings. I was impressed enough to think about buying it but when I looked up the price online I was staggered. $69 for a bottle! I couldn’t do it at first.
But my hair was out of control since I made the decision not to color it but to let it go gray. As any of you ladies know who decide to go this route, the texture of your hair also changes, and for me the transition was increasingly unhappy. I’ve always loved my hair, considering it one of my best features (it is smooth thick Asian hair with a bit of wave to it) but for the first time in my life I hated it. I even considered getting a keratin treatment to get it under control but the time, expense, and chemicals involved in doing this put me off. I remembered how my hair had actually behaved well when I used this oil and decided what the heck. I could always return the bottle.
That was over a year ago. I bought the bottle in JULY and I just finished it a few days ago. It lasted me over a year, and during that time my hair has become manageable again! Furthermore I get compliments all the time on my gray streaks (latest one from a new stylist, who told me she loved my hair and I should definitely NOT color it)! I wash my hair twice a week and use two pumps each time. I prep my wet hair first with two pumps of label m smoothing cream, work it into my hair, then two pumps of this oil. Blow dry and it’s sleek, gorgeous, tamed!
The oil is light and smells marvelous–as other reviewers have said, it feels luxurious. It doesn’t sit heavily on my hair, but I use it most on my ends, although I work it throughout my head. I also find it works best AFTER my smoothing cream, as the last thing I put in my hair before blow drying. I experimented with using it before my smoothing cream and it didn’t work nearly as well.
Yes, it’s expensive initially, but the bottle lasted me for over a year, a year in which I didn’t end up paying over $300 for a keratin treatment every six months or for that matter going back to coloring my hair (easily over $150 every six weeks)!
As we’ve learned thanks to MUA (love this community!) you don’t have to spend a lot on makeup unless you want to. You can get amazing mascara, eyeshadow, lipstick, powder, even brushes that perform as well as the high-end brands. Save your money on all that stuff and spend on what’s really worth it–for me, that’s cc cream, brushes and this oil! If I could give it ten lippies I would!!!
