I used to love this highlighter until I tried real highlighters. It’s flaky and it doesn’t stay in place. It tends to disappear during the day. It’s very subtle on my super pale cool toned skin so that doesn’t help either. I do like the color and I use it for very minimalistic day looks. It just seems like it’d be better for darker skin.

I like this highlighter a lot.
I’m not big into highlighting, but when I do I like to have fun with it. I’m not really someone who highlights my face on a daily basis, so I have one “regular” highlighter & one “fun” highlighter. This Hard Candy one is the latter.
I seriously love the packaging. The powder itself does appear to have a holographic effect on the skin. It contains fine glitter particles, so if you don’t want that then steer clear. The flecks of glitter are multi-colored and include teal, light purple, pink, & silver. On my cheeks I find that when the sun hits this highlighter, it pulls pretty pink overall.
I take off one lippie because the texture really could be better. In the pan parts of the powder are sort of… rough. But I don’t notice any weirdness in the texture translating onto my skin.
I love using this as an eyeshadow too. It’s super pretty. I would repurchase but I’ll probably never run out of this powder, & if I somehow ever do it’ll probably be discontinued by then.

The more drugstore I buy, the more I wish I wouldn’t bother. I think every makeup addict is always on the lookout for an affordable dupe. I thought this could be a dupe for a Becca highlighter.
The GOOD: I kind of like the packaging… simple, easy to store without extra bulk which is rare for many, especially Hard Candy, drugstore brands.
THE BAD & UGLY: Let me start by saying that I am not a fan of Hard Candy cosmetics in general. I have tried a few and have had similar problems where the ingredients don’t seem stick together and break down on application. This powder initially upon touching it feels quite soft and promising. Immediately you can feel the issue. The product doesn’t allow itself to be picked up by a finger, applicator or brush; although, with the brush there is a lot of fallout and the powder breaks apart. Even when pushing and dragging my finger or brush into the product, I cannot get an even amount across the brush/finger. When applying the product it balls up and appears quite scaly but never becomes opaque or an even wash.
BOTTOM LINE: I don’t even see this being used for costume. I wouldn’t even give this to a preteen to try out. Someone remind me to skip Hard Candy when looking for dupes! Save your money!
