I would recommend the liquid lips over the lipstick bullets. The shades are beautiful and the colour is great, but I find the packaging a little lacking compared to his other products and the formula is a little dry. I dont think I got a bad one because it’s the same consistency as the lip liners, but for the lip liners it works. As a lipstick I just find that the formula could be more creamy and hydrating. Has lasting power though.

I have three lip ammo shades, all great. Long-lasting, moisturizing, smell amazing… They go on great and look amazing for hours and hours. Beauty Pageant is a glitter shade that is so flattering and never feels gritty. I also have Celebrity Skin (absolutely gorgeous dark nude) and Baby Spice (crazy pink). LOVE.

I’ve tried a handful of these shades. Jeffree Star is vegan and cruelty free but because it’s a small, young company, it seems like the quality is not exactly the same from one shade to another. Therefore I would not give each color the same rating.
I bought dark rusty red Unicorn Blood and the color is beautiful, but the pigment collects in the natural grooves of my lower lip and looks weird. I don’t have wrinkles — I’m just talking about the natural surface of a normal lip. Unicorn Blood is the only shade I have that does this. Some Lip Ammo colors stain the lips but this one doesn’t stain so it wears off in the middle and then I’m left with a dark ring. I wish it stained the lips more. Unicorn Blood is 3/5. Celebrity Skin was much more grey than I expected from pictures I saw. In swatches it looked nice but in person it was an ugly color. I sent it back. Birkin Suede was concealer lips. I sent it back, too. I’d rate Celebrity Skin and Birkin Suede 2/5.
Then someone recommended Baby Spice so I tried that. Baby Spice’s color lasts longer than Unicorn Blood and I don’t have the groove problem with it. It’s not greasy but it’s not drying. So I’d give Baby Spice 5/5 except that I can’t wear pink every day, so 4/5. My favorite color is Unicorn Blood but in all other ways I wanted it to be like Baby Spice which has a perfect formula. If Jeffree Star is going to charge $18 they should all be high quality.

Ok so first off I like the lipstick. Its good. I bought ‘birthday suit’ and its my first ever JS lip ammo and while its a good lipstick there are a couple problems with it…but Ill start with the good things.
The good stuff
1. Smells good, just like a creamsicle!
2. very opaque color
3. long lasting color, fades evenly (due to the slight staining of the lips)
4. beautiful chrome packaging shaped like a bullet (so unique!)
The bad stuff
1. The color (birthday suit) doesnt look like the picture. In real life its a much brighter pink while online it looks like a nudey rose pink. Im extremely porcelain in skin color so maybe my pale af lips has something to do with this? But my husband agrees thats its VERY pink and doesnt look like the picture at all.
2. The consistency/texture is quite hard and not very creamy, its actually a bit difficult to apply to the lips because its not very smooth and because of this it feels a bit drying on the lips as well
3. Rather pricey considering you have to buy online (s & h) (for comparison mac lipsticks are the same amount and a dollar less in cost) and most of the time the colors I want are always out of stock.
I wrote that I would buy again, but only if they have a color that I really want that I think is very unique. Im considering purchasing unicorn blood in the fall buuuut idk. We’ll see! Its more of a ‘maybe’ for me.

The Summer Chrome Collection launched on June 25, 2017. The online swatches hooked me right away. Lip Ammunition (nicknamed Lip Ammo) is not to be confused with Jeffree Star’s Velour Liquid Lipsticks – the Lip Ammunition lipsticks are traditional satin finish bullets. I purchased three of the safer shades of Lip Ammo:
1) Birthday Suit is a rosebud nude, a variation on the same theme as Lipstick Queen’s Pinky Nude. It’s slightly darker than Jeffree’s Velour Liquid Lipstick Chrysanthemum (a pale cool beigey pink from the Christmas collection). Birthday Suit is not a dupe of Charlotte Tilbury’s Liv It Up or Besame’s Portrait Pink, but they are all light neutral pinks that could pass for cousins.
2) Star Witness is a dusty orange, a muted tangerine. It’s flattering on me but not my favorite color. However, it makes a great base for the two coral Velour Liquids I bought. (I like to layer them.)
3) Thick as Thieves is a mahogany nude, a medium brownish lipstick with a pink undertone. Sort of like MAC Whirl but with a little more brown. Of the three, I think Thick as Thieves is most likely to be flattering on a range of skin tones from light to dark. This one is earthy enough to take you into autumn.
Opaque coverage. Richly pigmented, saturated shades. They have a satin matte finish – not glossy or shiny but not flat matte. These lipsticks smell like cake. They call it a “creamsicle ice cream” scent. There’s no flavor but when you swivel them up to apply, they smell delicious.
I believe the formula improved with the Chrome Collection. (I read reviews from customers who felt that the very first batch of Lip Ammunition in the shade Celebrity Skin was a bit gritty. My tube of Baby Spice is perfect – creamy and long-lasting.) Lip Ammunition feels lightweight and has a satin finish on the lips. The texture reminds me of some of the Make Up For Ever lipsticks. The ones I have are smooth with uniform, rich color.
In the original packaging, I have the shade Baby Spice, a medium cool pink that’s bright yet slightly dusty and very wearable. Baby Spice leaves a healthy stain behind and the stain matches the lipstick. (I once had a Clinique lipstick I didn’t like because the stain was much more fuchsia than the lipstick itself.) Plenty of color remains on the lips after eating and drinking. For that reason Baby Spice is my favorite shade to wear to dinner.
They last longer than average. With Lip Ammunitions there is mild transfer to cups and glasses when drinking. However, if you go over a Lip Ammo with a Velour Liquid Lipstick, you’ll have less transfer once it’s fully dried down. Birthday Suit and Star Witness layer well with Candyass as a top coat.
Packaging improved with the release of the Chrome Collection. The case is a gleaming pink chrome bullet befitting the Lip Ammunition name. I’ve always loved the packaging of Jeffree Star’s Velour Liquid Lipsticks but the original Lip Ammo shell casings weren’t quite as posh. They looked suspiciously like pink plastic slugs for Barbie’s sawed-off shotgun (not to say that doll doesn’t have enemies; I’m sure she needs protection). The Chrome Collection bullets have a sleek, mod aesthetic, like chic little space rockets. By the way, if you have an older Lip Ammo, the new casing is not as stiff; it swivels up and down fluidly, and the cap clicks securely shut.
(The brand is cruelty free and vegan, verified by PETA.)
Price:
$18 per tube, which is comparable to the cost of MAC lipsticks.
The Verdict:
I love Lip Ammo. I’m eyeing more shades.
A Sidebar about the Velour Liquid Lipsticks:
I bought two Velour Liquids from the Summer Chrome Collection. Candyass is a coral rose gold metallic that smells like strawberries and applies like a fluffy mousse. Kat Von D’s formula immediately turns my lips into shriveled prunes but Jeffree Star’s metallics look plush and gorgeous. They feel comfortable for hours. Flamboyant is a bold, hot pink coral with a whisper of micro-glitter, far less sparkly than Candyass but with the same fruity scent and transfer-resistance. Candyass is dazzling and I’ve been putting it on top of other lipsticks. It reminds me of sipping strawberry daiquiris on the beach at sunset. Great summer color.

I received 3 lipsticks as a gift for Christmas this year. I wasn’t disappointed.
The first shade Unicorn Blood was amazing. The color is lovely and rich. It’s full coverage in a few swipes.
The second one is Grandaddy Purp and its to die for. Its a blue purple color that i never thought I’d be able to wear. Its creamy and has a lustre to it when on the lips.
The last one was Ice Cream Blvd…not a fan. I would like to blame it on hating the color (frosty baby pink) but unfortunately i found the product to be gritty and and patchy.
That one was a dud.
Overall I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with Jeffree Star makeup so far.
The price is high but worth the splurge in my opinion.

I got this as a gift because my cousin ordered it a while ago and wasn’t pleased with it, the shade is called Unicorn Blood.
Where to begin! (This review will not ponder on the subject of JS’ scandals, past, or personal life because it is irrelevant to his actual cosmetic products and formulas).
Unicorn Blood is a GORGEOUS dark red with a brown undertone. It is bold and very flattering when worn with the right type of makeup look. It stains the lips as it wears off which for me is a good thing because it is really long lasting. And that’s about all the positives I can think of for this review.
As for the negatives: With time, the lipstick bullet itself starts to clump and dry up in the top part which is kind of bizarre and it requires many swipes to get the full solid color to show.
The smell is hard to describe, it is sweet but it reminds me of children’s plastic toys smell. As for the packaging itself, it looks better in the pictures to be honest.
It’s a pink plastic bullet with a chrome accent on top, the JS logo and the tiny stars printed on it are stamped on the surface instead of lasered, so they rub off and disappear easily with time. The whole thing is really lightweight and feels super cheap. It has a pink sticker on the bottom with the shade name and the cap doesn’t snap securely in place either. It just looks and feels and smells like kid’s makeup to be honest.
For $18 a piece……. I don’t even know what else to say……. It’s a ripoff. And I have a theory Jeffree Star makeup is done by Markwins, which is a really cheap manufacturer (that does the makeup for Wet n’ Wild too) but I won’t get into the whole “conspiracy”.
Save your money get some good quality lipsticks.

I got Baby Spice and when i tried it on the color was really pretty and moisturizing, when i left it on for about 5 minutes i wiped it off with a makeup wipe and it stained my lips!! I dont really like it when products stain because its really irritating to see that you cant even remove the stain out. Thats the only con in this product but overall everything else is great and very pigmented! 🙂

i have this in unicorn blood which is a great deep red. imo comparing swatches, the lip ammo version is slightly lighter than the liquid lip version (which darkens as it dries down).
good the pigmentation. it takes two swipes for it to be fully opaque on me.
i rated this 3/5 because of two things:
1. packaging wise, it looks cheap, like something i probably picked up at the 100¥ store.
2. THE SMELL. its sickeningly sweet. jeffree said its supposed to have a “creamsicle” smell? i have no idea what that is. usually a smell barely bothes me much because it wears off after a while but this one stays. my nose barely got used to it & i keep smelling that cloyingly sweet smell. i wish this was unscented like the liquid lip.
UPDATE
i not sure if the lip ammos are reformulated or not for the chrome collection but this review is for the lip ammos before the collection. anyway, i want to update that the top of my lipstick became crusty and chunky after only 3 uses. its like i ran it through sandpaper. would not repurchase! what kind of lipstick does that? not cute!

I wanted to buy, like, all of these! I narrowed my selection down to Beauty Pageant becoz I wanted to buy 2 other velour liquid lipsticks. This is 100% vegan & cruelty free. It smells like cremesicle ice cream! I settled on Beauty Pageant becoz it is his only glitter finish lip ammo. It’s a MLBB loaded w gritty glitter in the tube (but you don’t feel it on the lips), but i love it. My mom even remarked on it when I asked her if I should keep it she said yes! This is a MLBB shade but the glitter keeps it from looking anything but boring. This is keeping in the prices of like MAC or UD. It says on the directions apply to bare lips. I will definitely be adding more of these to my colllex. Shipping is $5 & fast. I’m still waiting for my Beautylish order! I should’ve just ordered my liquid lipsticks from JSC. This is a marvelous lipstick. #winning
