This cleansing balm works reasonably well as far as oil based balms go. I like to use balms as my only cleanse, including makeup and around my eyes, with a hot wet cloth. This works fine for that and the light frankincense smell is really different and pleasant. However, the jar I had was very gritty and took some work before it melted and became smooth, taking away a lot of the pampering massage factor I like with other balms.

I gave this a try – despite my dislike for skincare/cleansers/ etc. in jars. I bought the small jar as I wanted to try it before committing to a full size.
Oh dear, where to begin?
It didn’t cleanse well at all (which wouldn’t be a huge issue if you plan on using it part of a double cleanse, I guess) and my skin reacted very badly to it. It got really red and itchy and I struggled to clean it off with a towel dipped in warm water. This cleanser left a greasy film which was a real nightmare to get off completely. I woke up the next day with really red and swollen eyes.
I do have very sensitive skin which reacts to whatever it wants, whenever it wants so that is most definitely a factor. I realize I may very well be in the minority who react badly to this cleanser. So if you have very sensitive skin too, proceed with caution.
I gave it 4 lippies for price because I think it’s really good you can buy a smaller version for a lower price to try it out and the full size isn’t extortionate either. However, in my case, it just wasn’t worth it.

Total game changer. It gets rid of every bit of makeup, including waterproof mascara and matte red lipstick. Smells lovely (subtle peppery incense and citrus), and has actually changed the texture of my skin. Since adding this and the frankincense light facial oil to my routine, my skin is soft as velvet and my redness has gone down a lot. Where I used to look quite blotchy and pink, my skin is now a soft white with rosy cheeks. I love this product a lot and both use it for cleansing with a hot washcloth, as lip balm and as a dry spot treatment.

This is an excellent cleansing balm made with high quality ingredients. It really moisturizes well and leaves my face silky soft. My only qualm is that I need to use this as part of a double cleanse because it does not cleanse sufficiently the first time. I like to pre-cleanse with a different cleanser and then use this. This is very good as a moisturizing treatment after cleansing as well. I will continue to use this.

So I have eczema on my nose, dry cheeks and acne T zone. My acne was going crazy recently – think it was the Bourjois CC Cream (even though I love it) so I decided to go organic. I’ve been using a Konjac sponge for combination skin to cleanse in the morning followed by a spritz of Balm Balm Frankincense Hydrosol Facial Tonic and 3 drops of Balm Balm Rosehip Serum and in the evening Origins Clean Energy Cleansing Oil as a makeup remover and Balm Balm Frankincense Deep Cleansing Balm as a cleansing followed by the facial tonic and serum again. Well this routine has done wonders. It has balanced out my skin more and has calmed down my acne. I think Balm Balm does simple but effective products although a little pricey for the amount. I’d recommend this routine if you have similar skin problems as myself, but I am on the look out for a day spf that doesn’t break me out to complete the routine.
