This is a very light and non-greasy primer which works perfectly with the Lock It foundation. Compared to some of the primers I’ve used this one is refreshingly thin and not loaded with heavy and unpleasant-feeling silicones or strong perfumes.
I have not tried it with any other foundations yet, but it feels nice and works exactly as it should with the Lock It and I assume it would give a similar result with most full-coverage liquid foundations.

This product is a must when using Kat Von D lock it foundation.
When i first purchased the foundation i was using NYX photo perfect primer and i found that the foundation was separating because it was all far to much silicon. However, as soon as i chose to use the Lock it Hydrating Primer the foundation stayed in place much better.
The Primer is quite water and yes just like its name very hydrating!!
perfect for someone with combination to oily skin as it doesn’t add to the oiliness of your natural skin.

This primer came out almost the same time as Kat’s Lock-It Foundation. The name “hydrating” is very appropriate here, mainly because this is a truly watery, lightweight formula, which goes on so well underneath foundation.
It has no scent to it and blends perfectly. I think it is perfect for someone, whose skin is on a drier side. It can also act as a mixing medium for the Lock-It foundation (more about it on my blog: and Erik, the brand’s key make-up artist, often uses this primer together with Kat’s liquid lipsticks to create liquid blush. It is that good. I will be repurchasing for sure.
