This is a beautiful gold highlighter. Somehow it works on my fair skin, doesn’t look like a stripe on my face. I’d definitely say it has a metallic finish, and even though it’s not super intense, you can build it up quite a bit. Not a fan of the packaging.

This is so pretty!! I apply it with my finger to my eyelids for a real golden *pop* of color. My eyes are blue.

This highlight would probably look beautiful on someone with a deeper skintone. But for me, it looks like just a strip of gold on my face, instead of a highlight. I’m also not really a fan of the texture of the product, and find it a bit too hard. But that’s my personal formula preference.

I think Laura Gellar’s highlighter formula is beyond compare. They’re so creamy and smooth, and they look fantastic on the skin. I am quite pale, but the beautiful metallic gold of Gilded Honey still had to be mine. I tend to mix this with a lighter highlight to make it work better on my skin, but I have also used it as an eyeshadow and of course it’s beautiful for that purpose too. The pans do seem kind of small, but honestly I can’t imagine I’d ever use up an entire highlighter anyway, so I don’t mind. The packaging is pretty simple in terms of looks, but it is sturdy plastic that protects the delicate product that’s inside.

Beautiful!

It’s almost that time of year I like to pop gilded honey into my makeup bag! It works like a dream on my summer tan skin. I tend to only wear liquid illuminaters these days because I love how I can just work them into my foundations & tinted moisturizers, but I find gilded honey is subtle and satiny smooth that it gives a very similar effect. Buy this if you’re looking to get that gorgeous, subtle, candlelit glow on those high points!

I think the hype on this product is way overrated. It’s a good highlight but I’ve seen better. It looks good when you layer it over a crewmen or liquid highlighter. But on its own it’s very hard to see.

I like this highlighter. I like that it can be very natural, but you can also layer it on for more drama. It’s not quite as dramatic as other highlighters I have, but I am okay with that. I find it smooth and easy to blend. It doesn’t accentuate my skin texture or pores either. I do wish the packaging was nicer to look at. It is quite ugly, but the performance is what matters and I am happy with that.

I have always eyed up this particular highlight and finally decided to buy it as a gift from me to me. The first thing I want to mention is that the packaging sucks! For a £21 product the plastic packaging looks so cheap and almost like a cheap brand single eyeshadow. Second, for the price you pay, I feel like you get a small amount of product.
Despite that, the product itself does not disappoint. I love the swirly design of the actual product. It adds a nice touch and makes it almost too pretty to use. This is by far one of the best highlighters I own. It is by no means glittery and is practically undetectable on the skin. This isn’t one of those super opaque, popping highlighters. It’s more subtle, in the sense that it gives a more ethereal, glowing from within sheen/glow to the skin. It’s really hard to describe but I do think that if you are more on the medium side or have a lot of warmth in your skin and you are looking for a subtle highlight then Gilded Honey is definitely one that you would enjoy and get a lot of use from. Would definitely recommend!

I’ve been wanting to try this highlighter for a very long time after seeing rave reviews from lots of beauty bloggers. I’m kind of like a Pokemon master when it comes to highlighters, I just gotta have them all. I had enough reward points from the retailer I regularly purchase my cosmetics from, so I was able to pick this up for next to nothing.
I’m glad I didn’t pay a lot for it, but sad I wasted my precious reward points on something so subpar.
I’m so sad! I LOVE all of Laura Geller’s products and was sure this was going to be right up there with my other faves. But it doesn’t work for me. The color is very pretty but not really what I wanted, it’s too dark for me to use as a highlighter even when I have a tan. I tried to make it work as a bronzer and it’s just not happening. It also seems to break apart and look patchy when I apply it to my cheekbones….I’ve never really had a product do that to me. I was expecting the formula to be very nice and buttery like Laura Geller’s baked skin frostings and bronzers, but it seems to be texturizing and rough. I’ve applied it with a small powder brush, a fan brush, and my fingers and all 3 ways I just don’t really like it.
I’m sad that I can’t re-purpose it. Honestly I wish I could try to use it as an eyeshadow (since the size is literally akin to what your average eyeshadow single looks like) but it’s not very pigmented. Maybe that’s why it breaks apart on my skin because I have to build it up so much to get the color pay off I want. 🙁
2 lippies because the color IS PRETTY when I can get it to show up, but still. You should skip this one. There are much better highlighters on the market in pigmentation and size. I have to imagine that the dollars per ounce on this one is a pretty bad ratio!
