Colourpop tends to give their products names that are totally unrelated to the actual color. When I hear “Heavy Glam” I expect glitter and high color pay-out. For this particular eyeshadow “Mighty Cute” would have been a better name. Also: this is NOT a warm-toned eyeshadow, although it looks like it in the picture.
I’m about NC20 right now, yellow olive. This eyeshadow has a sheer coral base and bright pink pearl. It actually looks very different from the picture on the site, where it looks more like a red-and-gold color, and for some reason, the shimmer looks more chunky than it is. Actually, there isn’t any gold in this shadow, and it’s pearlescent, not shimmery – it’s almost as if the picture is of a different shadow. It’s a SHEER color, and the shimmer is very fine. It’s very pretty, as it comes off as a bright pink that shifts between warm and cool. I don’t really like pink that much, but this is very cute. Difficult to apply because it’s sheer, but once it’s on, it’s on. I won’t give his a 5 though, as it is HARD to build up/work with. Just like other Colourpop eyeshadows: this is long-wearing.
I think this eyeshadow is one that a lot of people would like: it’s easy to use this as a sheer wash of color, but it can also be built up to a higher coverage. I don’t think I’ve seen other eyeshadows with this color before, so it’s quite unique. I think this could suit a variety of different skin tones and shades. If you’re already picking up something from Colourpop and a duocrome light, bright pink sounds interesting, I’d say: go for it. If you’d rather have something pink and gold, I’d recommend Come And Get It – much better texture too.
Above, I have Colourpop Bel Air in the crease, Heavy Glam all over the lid, while the inner corner highlight and liner (brown) is from the Element of Surprise palette
