This is a natural hyaluron serum I bought in hopes I could layer it under my other products and avoid having to massage in my custom oil blend in the morning.
It’s meant for normal to mixed skin. Mine is dry, but serums intended for my skin type always have ingredients that either dry me out and irritate, or break me out (or both, lucky bugger!). Thus I didn’t expect it to give formidable moisture, but enough to be a helpful step in my routine.
The packaging has a small opening on top so you can get individual drops out, but the bottle is a hard plastic one that you can’t squeeze lightly to dispense serum, so you end up vigorously shaking the upsidedown bottle to get a few drops on your hand.
Unfortunately for me, this isn’t really like a serum, it’s a runny gel. I hate gel formulas with a passion and this product demonstrates why quite clearly.
Upon application it actually feels okay. Very refreshing! Very light scent. Easy to massage in. Doesn’t feel very hydrating. it absorbs quickly (or so you think. It actually just dries super fast), and starts to feel a little drying and pulls your skin tight a bit. But at this point you believe it’ll “work within” and set about locking in your precious hyaluron with the next layer.
Then. Then, ohhhhh, The #uckening. As you apply your layer of whatever, the gel peels off in those ugly glue like little rolls, taking precious layers of your other products down with it. Yeah, you have to cleanse and start all over again and ain’t nobody got time for that.
Who makes serum that can’t be layered? Why would people buy it other than to put it over or under something?? The majority don’t have a one step one product routine…
It’s not hydrating really except maybe on an oily adolescent, and only those could probably wear it alone as a refreshing product, if they can live with a layer of gelly gunk that dried rather than absorbed.
What a fail. About five euros I think, but that’s five euros too many.
