Not a good value price wise ever since Adept Cosmetics came onto the scene. I used to love this palette but now I realize that the magnet is weak and the palette itself is so small.

I needed an empty palette for the many eyeshadow pans I have. This had really good reviews, so I decided to try it. It looks nice from the outside and has a good magnetized surface – most of my pans stick well, except MAC, but that is absolutely normal – they need to have metal pans glued to the underside.
While the outer surface looks and feels nice, the mirror is great, the magnets are nice and this palette looks nice when it comes with an insert and shadow pans… I’m a person who really likes eyeshadow pans to fit in a palette with no empty space in-between, in some kind of regular order. That doesn’t work with this. It fits at most 10 pans (although I’ve heard someone managed to fit in 11), and it looks kinda awkward (see picture). It also has a little… edge at the bottom that sticks out to accomodate the clasp that closes the palette, which makes it Impossible to place the bottom middle shadow in line with the other shadows…
I really wish it would be possible to purchase an insert with this. Without that, I won’t manage to like it as much as my other empty palettes. Before it was discontinued I liked the OLD version of the Unii palette the best. Right now, I prefer the Coastal Scents Empty palettes. There is also the Z-palette, Colourpop palettes and many others, but one of the important things for me is that the palettes have a mirror, which many empty palettes lack.
If you’re not annoyed by some empty space or awkwardly placed pans… or are just planning to place square pans in this, I think it’s an OK choice. Not quite the right thing for me though.
