I went to get a pedicure done and their equipment was not cleaned good because MY TOE NAIL FELL OFF. Basically Hot Topic Nail knew my toe nail was messed up and didnt say nothing to me that my big toe nail was messed up. When I calmly went to talk to them about it and took my shoes off to show them my nail I was looked at stupid like they had No Clue what I was talking about. So, I went off and left and thinking of calling a lawyer about Hot Topic Nail messing up my nail and Im diabetic which makes it worse.

I own 3 of these – a fluorescent pink, a neon purple, and an orange-scented orange with true gold shimmer. I would be totally unsurprised to discover that these are manufactured by the same company that makes Sinful Colors polishes, as they have the same annoying 5-6-coat opacity and crumbly texture when dry, which is especially frustrating on toes. That’s why they’re not worth paying ~US$4 for: frankly, they’re cheap nail polish sold at a higher price because it’s Hot Topic. If you’re OK with that kind of quality, check the Sinfuls first – they’re frequently BOGO @ Walgreens for US$1.99. In fact, the neon purple is actually of lower quality than Sinful’s bottle-similar Dream On – it dries a plum shade unless I use a white polish beneath, whereas Dream On is a neon on bare nails. Sinful polishes also dry in a reasonable time period, whereas I’ve had Hot Topic polishes still feel tacky on my nails after 30 minutes. The Hot Topic bottles look cute, but the brushes pick up way too much polish, and it’s difficult not to gunk up the bottlenecks…and when it starts to get gunky, the brush easily detaches from the cap when I go to open the bottle. The formula is thick and gloopy despite being so sheer, and I have to thin them practically every time I use them, including between coats. These are the only polishes in my stash I actually have to perform maintenance on.

I’m torn on these. I love, love, LOVE the black nailpolish. Really and truly, it’s the best cheap black polish on the market. Two coats and it’s dark as pitch. No top coat needed, plenty shiny on it’s own, and good formula. However, the brush often falls off, resulting in bad, BAD results. The brush detaches from the handle, and once, it even fell on my computer, on a book, even my favorite pillow.
That was BAD. The neon polishes are horrid. They chip, and dry matte, and honestly, I like SOME shine. If I wanted matte, I would fill my nails in with sharpie!
I will continue repurchasing the black polish, but I’ll stay away from anything else. It doesn’t even chip, and I don’t even put a basecoat or topcoat on. It lasts a good 3 days without chipping, and for a violin player, that’s very GOOD.

Ok, I am a nail polish addict and here is the rundown on HT nail polishes:
-Yes, they are streaky
-They are opaque in about 52 coats
-They chip after about 2 days, even with a nice top coat
BUT they are totally worth it BECAUSE….
-They come in the most awesome, vibrant colors that I have not seen anywhere else
-They are only $2.99!
-They look AMAZING with a shiny topcoat
-If you change your polish on a daily basis like me, then you don’t have to worry about chipping

I’m not a black nail polish fan but this black glitter polish is just packed with very alive, sparkly silver glitter that lights it up and takes the curse off the black.
It’s a jelly, which means the black base is kind of sheer and it takes 2 coats to cover. This isn’t a mark against the polish, it’s just the kind of polish it is. I like the extra depth the jelly finish gives it.
It wears about as well as any other polish I’ve used. Application is a bear not because of the polish formula (which is fine if not the best I’ve ever used), but because of the big moplike brush set into a round, flat bottle cap — impossible to grip steadily. The ink-bottle shape is beautiful but impractical and I decant all my hot Topic polishes into more useful bottles.

I quiet like these polishes for the most part. They are slightly thick but not horrible to work with. I recently added the Hot Topic Black to my collection and was surprised to find it cover perfectly in 1 coat. Trying time wasnt horrible, but a little longer then I would liked.
While I like the polish, I HATE the bottle. The small cap and long brush got nail polish on my nail, but all over my cuticle as well. This is easy enough to fix, but I dont always have time for that.

I BOUGHT MINT GREEN AND IT STAINED MY NAILS.

I bought a bottle of basic red nail polish in the skull bottle on a whim. Let me start by saying the brush in these suck bad. It’s stiff, too long and makes it extremely difficult to work with.
The color itself is nice, I applied one coat of it with a base and topcoat but it took a while to dry. It was also all over my hands from the brush being so terrible and dripping globs of polish at random times.. I am on day 4 of wearing it and while I do like how red-red it is, every nail is chipped and looks like I have had this polish on for a week or two. Probably won’t repurchase any more of these unless they are super cheap, but will put this one in a new bottle with a better brush.

I just bought one of these in Matte Black. I do not like it at all. It is really, really thin and runny. Tried to apply it, after 3 coats I gave up, it was still streaky and hadn’t covered completely. Will go back to my Sally Hanson black with Essie Matte About You top coat to get my matte black.

Can’t believe I paid $3 for this junk. I bought the beautiful teal blue cream…and from the outside, it’s positively gorgeous. But there are so many flaws with both the product and the packaging. First of all, the entire brush plus its stem gets all the way down into the tall bottle (the major problem with taller bottles) and the stem gets polish all over it and requires constant swiping off. Any polish-run is going to ruin it for you, and this stuff is prone to that. Second, the cheap, plastic stem wasn’t properly glued to the black screw-on lid of my particular bottle and upon opening, it fell off and onto my desk. Huge, gunky, blue mess – I was NOT happy. My brush also came with several “flyaways” that needed to be trimmed away before I could use it.
Onto the product, itself – it takes three coats of this particular color to go completely opaque – dries darker, which is fine, but that takes FOREVER! Once I thought I had it dry, maybe an hour later, it was still smudging all to easily. (Color still rendered gorgeous, which made it even more frustrating.) The polish is unreasonably thick – thinned down, it got all gunky on me, so I simple tossed this polish.
If you want a similar color, go for something else – China Glaze’s “Four Leaf Clover” from the Up & Away collection. I’m picking this up later this week because I REALLY want this color, and from what I’ve seen, they’re really very similar.
