Great product. As a person with very dry skin, this product is great for stage 2 after cleanser.
The smell itself is not strong which is a plus to this product and it is perfect for sensitive skin.

Love this. Used to avoid toner for so long because it makes my skin tight, but not this one. Smells lovely, feels lovely. And it even makes my skintone more even. On a lazy day, I went out to the mall one night without any makeup and not even moisturizer, just clean face and this toner. And my skin looked so good and even.

I was given a sample of this toner and thought it would be perfect for my very sensitive skin. I love Clarins products and have had little or no adverse reaction to any of the products I’ve tried. At first the toner seemed all right, but a little oily, then I noticed that a pale pink rash was developing around my mouth and chin and reaching onto my cheeks. Good grief! I didn’t connect the rash with the toner at first, but after a few days I ran out of the toner and used a sample of the Clarins One Step Comfort Water with Peach in its place. The rash disappeared fairly quickly and my skin was back to normal – but softer. I tried the experiment one more time with the same result. I’m keeping the peach water and tossing the toning lotion. No, I would not buy this again.

I bought this as an accompaniment to the Clarins Extra Comfort Cleansing Cream and whilst I probably won’t be parting with said Cleansing Cream anytime soon, I have been known to completely forget that I have this toner in my skincare arsenal. My skin doesn’t crave it and neither will I.
Technical details: this is a supposedly alcohol-free toner (heads up: there IS alcohol somewhere in the ingredients list) for dry/sensitised skin. It has a slippery feel, probably due to the oil content. It doesn’t leave a greasy film on my skin but I can’t help but feel that there is something leftover – and probably not in a good way.
Does it feel comfortable on the skin? To an extent, yes. But I’m not a fan of the residue, although the good news is it didn’t make me break out. I’m pretty sure there are better toners out there in the Clarins range.

Great toner. It feels moisturising, smells wonderful and really seems to make a difference before I moisturise. It has a much thicker, almost gel like consistency but it’s non sticky. I don’t think this is an absolutely necessary product, but I tend to say that about most toners. The price is also steep, but clarins give generous 50ml travel sizes of this plus samples if you buy a couple of things so check the website out for offers.

Don’t be discouraged by negative reviews; if you have dry skin, get a sample first and see how feel about this toner. I have seen this toner calm my red and irritated skin so many times, I always always keep a bottle at hand for use after sun exposure and exfoliating treatments. Love it and highly recommend it!

Why does everyone say it has no alhocol? It says it right there on the ingredients list: “benzyl alcohol” and “anise alcohol”…

Stung my face upon application, left a tacky film that took long to dry, so it delayed me when getting ready for work. Had to limit usage to evenings and weekends. I would not recommend this to ANY skin type, what, with all manner of parabens in the composition. Major fail for Clarins. Their green one (iris?) for combination skin fares better. For effective yet gentle toning, I suggest you try Elemis soothing apricot toner or Dr Hauschka (if you don’t mind alcohol).

I have ultra sensitive skin that is highly reactive and intolerant to most products available. I started using extra comfort toner (sample size) and found it very soothing and later purchased this product (full size). It seemed that the formulation have changed because I found the full size product to be highly fragrant which irritated my skin and caused flareup; Immediately after application, I noticed the strong scent, burning sensation, severe tightness and redness. In spite of moisturizing, my face felt so uncomfortable and tight that it seemed like it was going to break.
I persisted with this toner and had changed moisturizers several times with no success since my flare up continued. It was until there was severe facial peeling / flakiness that caused panic since it seemed like my face was coming off that I seeked advice from many beauty advisors (London Drugs, Shoppers Drug Mart, Department stores, etc.)
As advised, at first I tried Cetaphil moisturizer which was hydrating and healing but the facial peeling / flakiness problem continued. Then I stopped using Clarins extra comfort toner and used Jouviance EcoPurifying milk cleanser which seemed to control the facial peeling / flakiness problem. I am still evaluating these products and its effectiveness in healing my skin problem and will post update later.
