I’m reviewing the 5 eye shadow neon palette. Got it for 2 bucks at a Family Dollar store and wow I’m impressed. On top of a white shadow base these shadows pop! You can do so much with them. I could have wanted the bigger 12 pan neon palette but those big palettes are harder for me to find. Regardless I like this 5 pan one because I’d probably never use up a bigger palette. This one is enough to satisfy those days when I want a bright look.

OK, so the 5-lippie rating is for the LARGE palette in the metal packaging (specifically the Berries palette), NOT the small plastic ones, which suck.
The Berries palette is fantastic. Great pigmentation, great range of colours and finishes. There are three groups of colours (oranges, reds and purples) each with a few shades and finishes, that compliment each other, but can be use separately. So if you want to go for a full sunset eye going from gold through red to purple, you can… or you can just do a basic gold eye (for example).
Not much fallout, good staying power, and CHEAP.
In contrast, the small plastic palettes are gritty and weak-coloured, awful to blend, and make my eyes itch like it’s hayfever season.

I tired out the bys nude palette in the Gloss store and I am amazed the fine buttery texture and pigmentation of the shadows!! Immediately purchase one at 19.95. For this price with this quality is out of my expectation , the packaging is clean and nice . The brush in the case …well ….better use your own eyemake up brush. I tried a few of their palettes in the shop and I find out the nude palette texture are the only one have the buttery texture and good pigmentation , the others are just so so ,some I even couldn’t get any color from the shadows. I would only recommend the nude palettes if u wanna try out this brand.

As a makeup lover, the move from the US to Australia was really tough for me since everything suddenly cost 1.5 to 2X more. So it was rather nice to discover this nifty little brand of shadows in the dollar store or at Gloss. They are extremely cheap and actually pretty good quality. Like I would say these are better than Maybelline or Cover Girl eyeshadows for cheaper than that. Certainly they aren’t the same quality as BB or Lorac, but that shouldn’t be expected. I do get pretty great colour payoff with these, they are pretty pigmented and smooth to apply, although they do kick up a lot of product with each use cos they aren’t well pressed. I have a couple of quints – a purple one and one with beige and blue and black, and I have found some really pretty colours in here. They are a little fragile, and I’ve had shadows shatter on me, but they are cheap enough that this doesn’t bother me too much. The purple quint I have actually does a fabulous smoky eye and has rather subtle colours. Really not bad for $5! Of course, you do have to use a primer with these but I find my higher end shadows don’t necessarily stay on that much longer without a primer anyway.

I have a few of their 8 palette’s and honestly, they’re not bad for the price. I will discuss them individually.
BYS Colour Conga palette – cute compact, upon opening smells STRONGLY of talc so if you are sensitive to smell, avoid. The pigmentation is decent, a few shades are chalky. Also I think it’s important to note that the shimmer is only on the top – after a few uses theres no more shimmer. Weird. This is very powdery so theres a lot of fall out but the lasting power is decent with a primer.
BYS Metallics Browns palette – LOVE this palette, the shades are absolutely gorgeous and they last 12 hours with a primer. It doesn’t smell as strongly as the first palette but it’s still noticeable. They are VERY pigmented (seriously, on par with high end brands) but are still powdery/soft so again, fall out is an issue. I own the UD Naked palette but I reach for this cheapie more! Definitely pick this up if you’re a neutrals fan.
BYS Metallic Darks palette – contains smokey shades, an electric blue and green. I don’t really do the smokey eye look but I love the blue shade – I wear it to costume parties and get loads of compliments. The smell is really annoying but the colours are nice.

Great eyeshadows, not as pigmented as could be really shimmery colours great for young people starting out. Would recommend this product to anybody who’s starting out and doesn’t wanna spend all there penny’s on Mac or high brands. I have created many looks with the compacts but unfortunately didn’t stay on long all in all okay for a beginner in make up would recommend it!!!

I bought the palette in Natural Delight on some kind of blind impulse only to remind myself why I don’t buy cheap products any more. The consistency is bad – or, to be honest, without any real consistency – the brush/applicator collects so much of the stuff from the pan and it will get everywhere), the pigmentation is bad (it’s so bad the colours all look the same eventually), the packaging is bad. Cheap but waste of money.

more pigmented than others. Most too glittery for my liking so would not buy again

I bought the #5 Black steel palette for something like $3 AU. For a $3 palette, I’d say it’s quite worth it – especially being a makeup cheapo like me. The texture is a bit powdery, and the colour payoff slightly on the sheer side but unless you’re sweating buckets it doesn’t fade too fast. I managed a few parties with this palette and it has lasted a few hours at a time. Not bad, in my opinion.
