I think this shade of red is very flattering for most skin tones and undertones. It’s neutral enough that it doesn’t pull ‘plummy’ on my yellow-to-olive undertones, like most reds. It’s dark enough that it’s vampy, but the glitter finish adds some lightness to it that makes me feel perfectly appropriate wearing it as a daytime shade!
I’ve had glittery lipsticks before and this one is the best I’ve tried. It is soft, creamy, and there is no grit to it whatsoever. It doesn’t look quite as glittery as the promo swatches – it’s a little more metallic or pearlescent on, but I do see glitter in it when it catches the light.
It smells lovely! It’s a little sweet and tropical, but not overwhelming at all. It reminds me of walking past someone with suntan lotion on haha.
Overall, I really love this shade and knew I’d end up with it as soon as I saw the promo swatches. It did not disappoint and I’m really enjoying it!
My only hesitations about this lipstick are 1. transfer and 2. quantity for the price.
This lipstick is very soft and creamy, which means it transfers easily, leaving a glittery trail behind me on cups, and around my mouth if I’m not careful. It’s not unexpected with a lipstick like this and if you’re used to cream formulas, it’s not any worse than any other lipstick. However, I do find it transfers a lot more than my other, harder glitter lipsticks.
2. If you screw this lipstick up all the way, it looks TINY. For $20, I expected it to be a little larger, but what you see in the promo shot is the lipstick screwed up all the way. It’s just a nub!

Huda Beauty have just released their first bullet lipsticks with a metallic finish for the holiday season; NYE is a vampy currant red shade, with a hard-to-describe formula that’s a “revolutionary mix of multi-reflective glitter, kaleidoscopic pearl pigments and iridescent shimmer creates an incredible high-impact 3D finish like you’ve never experienced before”. I’ve found the formula softer and smoother than my previous experience with metallic lipsticks, so I’d say it’s like a creamy glitter formula, minus the grit and mess usually associated with glitter infused formulas. I happily wear the other two lipsticks in this range during the day without feeling overdone as the shades are more fun, but NYE is stronger and more of a power shade that I find a bit too much for ‘everyday’ things. It is stunning for special occasions though – I don’t usually care for darker shades as my mouth is fairly small and my upper lip is thin, so they can end up looking like slashes on my face, but something about this just works.
The formula has Brazilian nut oil and sweet almond oil in it, so it feels soft and creamy and glides on easily. Being so creamy means that it will need touching up every several hours, although it does stain lips a bit, so some colour does cling – I like this so don’t count it as a negative, but if you don’t like staining lip products, then this lippie isn’t for you. The rectangular tube is nice, as you can leave it on your dresser etc without it rolling away The only thing about this lippie that I don’t like is the shape of the bullet as it doesn’t suit my lip shape, so is not the smoothest application – but after a few uses it becomes more rounded, so it is not a dealbreaker for me since that issue soon disappears.
