My HG eye shadow. And remember Stila’s original cardboard packaging? The little sayings inside? It’s such a unique color. Dry it’s a muted neutral pink plum, Wet it’s a reddish brown with berry. It really works with my med yellow skin tone whether I am paler in the winter or tan in the summer. Long lasting. I have had mine since forever! I a down the bare bit and like all the other “Urchinistas” here [that was a good one!] this color is irreplaceable. I can not come close to finding a good match. MAC included. But…..I just landed one on ebay. I am hoping it’s true to color and hasn’t aged too much since the baby has been our of circulation for a long time. I can’t believe the new owners scrapped this color. Why Stila? Why?

RIP Stila pans. What a great system, long dead now. I finally let this shadow go because it was so old but I LOVED the shadow, which is why I’m posting this here, in hopes someone will post some dupes! I have searched high and low… the hunt continues.

Well, I said I would buy this again– and I WOULD– if Stila would start making it again! How could they discontinue my BEST crease color ever??? I’ve had this e/s for many years, and I have never found another from any line exactly like it. It’s the perfect, pink-neutral-plum eyeshadow for my skintone (MAC NW20) and eyecolor (hazel-green). I like to pair this with a light pink on the lids (any light to midtone pink) and Urchin in the crease. It is gorgeous for daytime– or anytime! When my pan is gone, I don’t know what I’m gonna do without my beloved Urchin…. {sniff} :,-(

Urchanistas UNITE! Some of us became hooked on this unique brown-with-subtle-reddish-plum cast to it. Oh I know it was discontinued years ago but we loyalists fight the good fight – buying antique Urchin pans on eBay to keep the tradition alive! I have mighty odd coloring in my face and it took a long time for me to notice that THIS color is neutral on me. I am fair (MAC 15) with cool yellow skin (probably blue undertones but who knows). Urchin looks like a brown that makes my blue greenish-yellowish-greyish eyes ignite and glow. I use it in the crease. I have fortified my train case with reserves – I and other Urchanistas will fight to the last pan, we will never give up.

The color looks very boring in person but I find myself reaching for it often. It’s a matte brown shade with a hint of plum. It works wonderfully with a ton of different color combinations. I especially think it makes the most beautiful, natural crease shade if you’re going for an understated, natural eye. Love!

I miss this product, cannot believe its dicontinued. Its like no other shade I’ve ever come across, not at a MAC or anywhere!
I’ve tried to find a replacement to no avail!
Its the most wonderful matte brown/plum…it was my staple for a number of years worn under Stila Cloud! It would add great depth and was sutible for everyday wear. I normally hate purples, but this only toes the line of purple because its also a brown.
I miss this shade!

Stila don’t do many matte shadows, and I find some of their shades can be a little shimmery for daytime use. I thought Urchin would be a great staple as it’s matte and is a neutral shade but with a bit more interest to it than boring old browns. In saying that, I think this shade almost needs a touch of shimmer to it to give it a bit more ‘oomph’.

Urchin is a matte, dusty rose shade that works well as a base color. It looks good with dark eyeliner, but I found that when used solo it’s pretty boring. I’ve barely used mine because it’s not very versatile.

This is a wonderful daily shade – a medium warm brick brown with a shot of plum. This shade may look downright berry on a pale or cool skintone, but on my medium/olive tone, this is a true brown. I love the finish of matte shadows but most matte shades have formulas which make them difficult to blend. Stila’s matte formula is smooth and blendable, which is a wonderful change. I love wearing this as a no-nonsense eyeliner without any additional shadow, or as a base color over the entire lid. This is a very nice basic shadow which should have a place in the arsenal of warm-toned brown eyeshadow lovers.

Very pretty plummy-brown shade, like others have mentioned. Goes on nice and smooth and is nicely pigmented. A very wearable, everyday shade. Would probably repurchase.
