I’m a die hard Badger lip balm user, but it is sometimes hard to find in the store. I saw Mongo Kiss at the drug store, so I bought it with the hopes of having a Badger alternative if I ever get caught short. Mongo Kiss did not disappoint–it comes in a beefy twist up tube, larger than Chap Stick, but still small enough to fit in a pocket or purse. The texture is extremely smooth–it applies easily without tugging, and it nourishes and moisturizes the lips quite well. It helps heal chapped lips when applied several times a day for a day or two, and it helps prevent chapped lips from occurring if used regularly. This product does not contain sunscreen, and does not have the heavy waxy quality of Chap Stick (which incidentally is a good protectant in extreme weather). Mongo Kiss is more of an everyday “indoor” balm to keep the lips healthy and supple. The flavor I bought was vanilla honey…if there was anything I wasn’t crazy about, it was that. I would prefer a non-flavored or perhaps mint. However, I got used to it, and probably wouldn’t be averse to getting vanilla honey again. Thumbs up!

Bought this on a whim and am really glad that I did. Typically I use Carmex and blistex with random chapsticks dispersed throughout. If I lose them, no biggie, no panic. Just buy a new one at the next checkout line.
I’m a fan of lip masks, and typically wear them like they’re lip balms. My fave for actually moisturizing are the Laniege sleeping mask and the C.O. Bigelow mentha lip glosses. BUT THIS HERE CHAPSTICK IS ACTUALLY LIKE THE TONED DOWN VERSION OF BOTH WITH A LIGHTER FEEL ON THE LIPS. I have the “Vanilla Honey” version, but I don’t get either notes at all. And when I smell it, it just smells like “sweetness.” No stick. Has slip, but isn’t greasy. And actually moisturizes. I can put this on when my lips are legit cracking, and I feel actually feel relief that last quite a long time. Thought I lost this and went to buy another and when I couldn’t find it I tore my car apart. Seriously a great buy for the $1-$2z

I found this at Walmart for $1 or so, and decided to buy it because of the quantity and it being cruelty-free.
I LOVE this lip balm, it does its job and is ideal for prepping your lips for any intense lip color. I thought I had lost it and HAD to buy more.
The tube is very large for a lip balm, but it’s not novelty size so it still is portable and practical. The packaging reminds me of a jungle themed Lipsmackers or something of the sort. I got the peppermint flavor, and the scent isn’t too strong for me but the menthol effect is definitely there, which I think is good because it mildly exfoliates my lips.
It’s ideal for priming lips because the oils do not linger and actually absorb into your lips. Your lips stay moisturized after the product has set in, so the oils will not interfere with the pigment of your lipstick/stain.
Would definitely recommend anyone try out!

This isn’t quite a HG product for me, but it might be a new staple until I find something better. I got this a few weeks ago (Vanilla Honey scent) because I really needed a new lip balm and it was the only product I found that I hadn’t already tried. I honestly didn’t expect much, but I’m pleasantly surprised so far.
I don’t like the taste (I think it’s the beeswax), the smell is weird (not really bad, but I don’t love it), and the feel is definitely a bit oily (probably because it has several oils in it).
But, it seems to actually work, which is more than I can say for 99% of the lip balms I’ve tried over the last few years. I haven’t tested it when my lips are in really rough shape, because that usually happens in the winter, but it’s been fine for summer. It doesn’t work miracles, making my lips significantly softer, but it does seem to help smooth things out when they get a little rough, and keeps them from getting worse.
If I don’t find something else soon, I’ll probably repurchase this and see how it does during the colder and dryer time of year.
The size of this is also a selling point, at least for me. This was a pretty cheap lip balm, but it’s almost twice as much product as something like Burt’s Bees. I think it’s about the same amount of product as EOS, but in more convenient (IMO) packaging. My only complaint about the packaging is the way it twists up. The ring you twist is just below the cap, which is fine, but it twists up super easily so I’ve found it twisted all the way up to the end of the cap on more than one occasion, when I’ve had it in my purse or pocket. Maybe that’s just mine, though.
All in all, I like this stuff and I might buy it again, but I’m not sure it’s actually up for the challenge of keeping my lips comfortable during the winter, so I’m definitely still on the lookout for something better. But if I can’t find anything else, I’ll buy another tube of this stuff.

My lips often get dry at work and, after running out of my Zum Kiss lip balm, I went in search of a cheaper, easier to find alternative. I ran across Mongo Kiss lip balms at Wal-Mart for under $3 a piece. I bought both the Vanilla Honey and the Peppermint flavors. The ingredients are comparable to Zum Kiss, only Zum uses Shea Butter while Mongo uses Cocoa Butter.
I am hoping that Mongo is similar in the sense that it doesn’t leave the dreaded white line around my mouth. So far, I really like this stuff. It’s very moisturizing and the flavors you get to choose from are lovely.

Mongo Kiss in Peppermint has become something I have to keep with me everywhere. I have one on my night stand, one in my purse and one in my desk at work. This lipbalm is the perfect primer for lipstick. I like to layer mine underneath Burt’s Bee’s lipstick in Blush Basin. It absorbs into your lips, is very moisturizing, is slightly tingly and it’s like a breath freshener as well as a balm. I have bought lip balms from Sephora and I would say this one could blend right in with those easily in terms of quality and use. This winter, Mongo Kiss was my best friend. I’d layer some on before leaving for work and it would stay put for a few hours.
Will buy many times over. 10/10

I have tried both the pomegranate and unflavored one and I much prefer the latter. The scent of the pomegranate one is quite strong at first though, but you get used to it! Goes in really smooth and is hydrating. It leaves a glossy or oily look when you apply too much but I really don’t mind.

I have been using MUA to find healthy natural brands that actually work and this is one of them! No petroleum by products or harmful chemicals, and it works as good if not better than other lip balms! New HG.

My favourite lip balm by far, I have very dry lips and often work 12 hour shifts with maybe 1 drink if I’m lucky, I put this on before my shift and by the end I’ll don’t end up with dry, cracked, peeling lips by the end. We can’t get them in the uk so bought in bulk through iherb. My HG without a doubt.

I really like these balms for spring and summer. In the winter I fully rely on Lansinoh and other such heavy-hitters for my atrociously dry lips, but once they get better I turn to my other faves for some g-d variety lol. I can’t add much to the great review below, but I’ve found Mongo Kiss balms to be affordable ($2.50 for a fat tube at Whole Foods) and effective. There’s a slightly oily, slippery texture that reminds me of Hurraw! balms (amazing flavors, not great moisturization) but it does sink in and leave your lips in great condition. Once it sinks in, it’s perfect for under lipstick. I’m also happy with the actually nourishing ingredients and the company. Recommend!

For reference, I have extremely dry lips that are prone to chapping, cracking, and bleeding. Lanolin is the best lip treatment for me since it’s the only thing I can depend on to heal my lips overnight. However, it’s not the most portable or convenient option so I still regularly use lip balms in tubes. And Eco Lips’ Mongo Kiss lip balms come the closest to the performance of lanolin without sacrificing convenience.
I always thought that waxier lip balms, as opposed to softer and slicker ones, were the only ones I could use. The waxy ones felt like they were sealing in the little moisture I had, whereas most slicker ones left my lips in worse shape (SoftLips) or were only able to maintain my lips when they were already in good shape (Smith’s Rosebud Salve). However, these Mongo Kiss lip balms have completely changed how I feel about slicker lip balms. The formula is more oily than waxy, but very moisturizing and long lasting.
They’re a great price at $2.49 especially considering they come in oversized tubes (similar to a glue stick) with .25 oz of product instead of the standard .15 oz with most lip balms. It’s convenient enough for me to pick them up at Whole Foods, but they are also available online. I can’t think of any cheaper options for lip balm save for ones that come in tins but you sacrifice convenience with those.
I regularly use 3 of the 4 options they have available, with the exception being peppermint. The scent of peppermint is a bit strong for me but I gave a tube of it to my dad and he likes it well enough. I do smell it on him occasionally and I think any peppermint fans would be pleased with the scent. Here’s a breakdown of my experiences with the other options:
– Unflavored: I’m an incredibly boring lip balm wearer and this is my favorite. Pure unadulterated lip balm. I can smell it if I’m putting it right up to my nose (a really faint nutty smell which I expect is from the mongongo oil)
– Vanilla Honey: I’m not crazy about this scent. It is a very medicinal smelling honey.
– Pomegranate: This is a bit sweeter scented than I think of with pomegranate and pretty strong. For a friend of mine though, this is her favorite!
Overall, for the convenience of a lip balm in a tube and for its moisturizing properties Mongo Kiss lip balms are absolutely astounding. Considering the price and the amount of product is in each (supersized) tube, I would really recommend anyone interested to give them a shot.
