While I think this is a wonderful gluten-free and natural product, I just think it is a touch overpriced.
One little pot is going to last you a very long time though, so I save mine for travels. The sugar beads here are much smaller compared to LUSH Lip Scrub, so if that is something that you might like – give it a shot. This product has a natural cherry scent and flavour and I must say that it is good to have a high-end lip scrub option that is safe to use.
Alternatively, I would also highly recommend LUSH Lip Scrubs. They are around 8 USD and last a long time too. You can read a detailed review on this and many other green skincare bestsellers here ( Hope it helps!

This is for the Agave Sugar Lip Scrub.
The picture used on MUA is actually of another one of Bite’s lib scrubs, this one is amber brown and goopy with some coarse bits of sugar sunk at the bottom. This is also advertised to be foaming(why?) when mixed with water as you scrub and to be used as a night-time treatment.
Main ingredients are sugar and emollients like glycerin and oils with some botanicals added in for flavour and skin conditioning. Of note is the bromelain(if you have pineapple allergy beware) which is supposed to be a chemical exfoliant and the oils which are supposed to soak in and continue to moisturize your lips.
The first time trying this I was disappointed as soon as I scooped some out. All the sugar that’s supposed to do the scrubbing is stuck at the bottom of the jar. You end up digging out more goop than you need trying to get to the sugar which is is strangely lacking for a scrub, especially since sugar is so cheap. Because of how goopy it was I didn’t feel like I did much scrubbing, and at the same time I felt like the product would drip off my lips. I ended up putting this aside for a long time because I don’t have time to be messing with something so underwhelming to do such a simple job.
The next time I used it I thought I would try leaving it on longer like a mask before scrubbing off to let the bromelain do something, but I couldn’t stand the overpowering sweet vanilla aroma and it gradually seeping into my mouth(it’s supposed to be food-grade though) and had to get it off soon after. It turns milky(the oils emulsify) when mixed with water but I wouldn’t say it foams, though that did have the effect of making my dead skin stand out. I was able to rub off some patches of dead skin but I attribute that more to the oils having softened the skin than the pitiful amount of sugar. It was supposed to leave a layer of oils to soak into your lips but I didn’t find much stayed after rinsing it away.
For a lip scrub, the price of $20 CAD for the full size is outrageous and it’s even worse that this isn’t even good as a scrub because of how little sugar is in it. It did soften lip skin so that the dead skin could be rubbed off, but you can basically use water to do this too. A sample of this is included in the Bite Beauty Sephora birthday gift, but I first got this in a trial kit of the agave series and felt like it was a rip off to get some sugar in a pot that I could make myself for 100x cheaper. Definitely do not recommend.

Too much goop, not enough grit. I’m sure this is very moisturizing but I just hate lip products that are overly messy to apply. Glad I only got this as a sample — I’ll take Lush’s scrubs over this one any day.

Clearly I am in the minority on this product. I got it it the birthday gift set from Sephora last winter in CANADA! Cured my extremely chapped, peeling and sore lips in a couple days. Definitely buying again.

I received free sample from Sephora. I like the idea of lip scrub, but would not purchase this item. It smells good and it chunky enough to scrub dead skin cells off lips, but it didn’t. I was disappointed. Use a Korean scrub pad with a little soap works better. Or create your own sugar scrub from your kitchen.

Got a sample blister pack of this with the Sephora birthday gift. It didn’t do anything for my lips that some sugar and coconut oil couldn’t do better. Though it smelled nice, the most off-putting attribute (besides the price for a full size) is the disgusting bitter taste it leaves if you get any residue in your mouth. I mean, I’m not going to purposely eat it, but come on- it’s made with sugar and meant to be rubbed all over lips. Some flavor will be imparted- unfortunately, it’s a gross one.

In one word… disappointing. Seriously disappointing. There is very little scrub to balm ratio, like the sugar crystals must dissolve in the oil because there are so few it’s ridiculous. You can make a DIY and get better results or pay a few bucks for the e.l.f. lip scrub which will remove any and all dry skin from your lips leaving them ultra soft and smooth. Ok, that one might be a little too aggressive on the lips but you will get a plumped effect temporarily from the exfoliation. In any case, do not waste your money on this scrub from Bite, it’s just not worth it. I got mine (Agave Sugar lip scrub) in the kit with the mask and the balm which are both good products, the scrub is a fail though.

As many others have already mentioned, this is a terrible product. I’ve really enjoyed all the other bite products I’ve tried (their lipsticks, lip glosses, lip masks, lip pencils, etc.) but this is the ONLY product I’ve ever purchased from them that I actually ended up throwing out. I didn’t purchase this individually as I think I got it in one of their lovely sets that they come out with. I was so excited to try it because, up until then, I had never been disappointed. But this? This was terrible.
For one, it did absolutely nothing for my lips. I read on a blog that you have to scrape below the first layer to get to the exfoliating beads, but I tried this and it still did nothing. It felt extremely waxy and did not sink into my lips at all. It was like scrubbing your lips with chap stick or something to that effect, except on my lips, it was not nearly as moisturizing as that would have been.
I still adore the brand and will continue to purchase items because of how well thought out their products and messages are (I.e. food grade, cruelty free, made in Canada, etc.). Even the micro beads in this product are all natural made out of jojoba nut beads so they don’t pollute our oceans and waterways. But I would not recommend this product to anyone, let alone for the full price. I’ve used the lush lip scrub (and the pot has lasted me forever! From what I remember it was around $12 CAD) and it’s very effective. Not as moisturizing as I would like though so onwards and upwards to find me new HG lip scrub.

Holy Mother of baby Jesus in the manger does this product blow! And by blow, I don’t mean out of the water due to impressiveness…
I don’t know if I got a bad batch or what, but this product does not work AT ALL – and it tastes horrible! It scrubs absolutely nothing away and didn’t leave my lips smoother at all. OK wait – it does leave an oil residue behind which perhaps may be adding some moisture? However, I thought I was buying a scrub not a balm. The worst part about this scrub though is the “flavor”, which I think is supposed to be honey like, yet is actually bitter as heck to the point I was having flashbacks of that aftertaste you get when the dentist shoots your gums up with Novocain. Ya’ll think I’m joking, right? I’m not. It’s that gross.
Do NOT – I repeat – do NOT get duped into purchasing this! For the $18 price tag, there are plenty of others which are top notch at a much better price point. This doesn’t hold a candle to Tarte’s lip scrub, which is a few bux cheaper.

My lips chap and peel on the regular, so I need to scrub my lips daily. I love Bite Beauty and swear by their products, so I got this. It’ll be perfect, right?
WRONG.
This smells amazing and feels very moisturizing, but it does not scrub ANYTHING. There are little grains in it, but they’re very soft and don’t scrub at all – I’ve heard they’re wax, which explains it.
I loooove Bite, they make my favorite lipsticks, but this scrub is an absolute fail. I’m going to finish the jar and throw it out. Definitely will NEVER repurchase.
