a gel-serum. gets tacky. Delicious fragrance that is not too heavy (normally I dislike scented products on my face). Dont see any changes to my skin, though it seems to temporarily tighten things up. too expensive for repurchase, since I didnt see any changes in skin tone/wrinkles

Absurd this is discontinued… fabulous product! The three products combined turn skin into absolute perfection; no pores, no spots or redness, no fine lines. Only thing additional one needs is a good SPF in the am and nothing else.

What’s great about ‘Le Jour’ is that it is not sticky at all, and you can apply moisturizer and/or foundation or TM over it. It absorbs quickly and it smells very good.
My skin feels nice and soft after application, despite the fact that is has alcohol as a second ingredient.
After using up an entire bottle I must conclude that in the end it did not do anything for my skin. And at €75,– for 50 ml, that is a waste of money.
I suspect that the percentage of salicylic acid is not high enough to do anything for my skin.
From this range I liked ‘Le Weekend’ most, followed by ‘La Nuit’. But I did not like either of them enough to buy them again.

I started using this as recommended as a serum under my moisturiser, but with me being as oily as I am, I actually find this just enough alone throughout the day. The results are absolutely fantastic, nothing makes my skin look as good as the whole regime. Will definitely repurchase.

I got a sample set two weeks ago and use it as advised. I really fell in love with the way my skin looks and feels after using Le jour de Chanel. The pores in my T-zone look so much smaller and I noticed that I’ve been needing less make-up to cover up my imperfections. Also the radiance I see in the morning after using the daily night cream is really noticeable. Yesterday some strange lady complimented me on my skin. My mum thought my skin tone looked brighter en more even, even though I had not told her about my new skin routine. Yesterday I bought the full size set and am really excited and curious to find out if the result I saw over the past few days will get even better! About the packaging…I’ve read a few negative reviews on the plastic bottles…but I couldn’t be happier with it, considering the price of the contend and me being kind of clumsy sometimes. 🙂

I tried this product because I got a sample of it and I was quite excited to see the amazing results Chanel promised. My honest opinion: it’s not worth the money and I’m thankful I didn’t pay for it. The packaging of the full product (not the sample) is not that good (very cheap looking and plastic), it’s expensive and it fails to keep my skin hydrated for the day (and my skin isn’t even dry). It’s not horrible and it won’t cause your skin to break or anything, but you just get 0 results with it. Therefore, you can find better products of the same kind for less money for sure. I won’t be buying it.

I really wanted to love this like really really but my skin got red with bumps on the apples of my cheeks. So sad. I’m returning the three bottle mini set for $98 at the bay

i wrote a separate review of the entire chanel resynchronizing skincare line, which you can read if you click on my name and see my other reviews. i am copy pasting my initial review below, but first id like to add a few things. i updated my other review twice because when the temperature started to cool down, i could feel that this serum would not be enough to keep my face moisturized throughout a cold (let alone freezing) day.
i went to see my chanel SA today, and she told me that jour de chanel should be used as a serum and it should be applied underneath a regular moisturizer. this makes A LOT more sense to me. i always put hydra beauty serum on first, but it was still not enough to keep hydrated.
when i first started using this serum in early august of this year and the weather was hot/humid/sweltering, it was definitely enough to keep me moisturized. my skin felt light and perfect, so i think its fine as a hot or mild weather moisturizer. for winter though, layer it with something else.
my new routine (as of today, lol) is to apply hydra beauty serum and eye gel first, as always, then the jour de chanel serum, and top it off with hydra beauty creme. my skin feels great with these three products together, perfect to keep my skin soft and hydrated through winter.
here’s my original review of jour de chanel, taken from my review of the resynchronizing skincare set:
the day cream: “le jour de chanel”. this one is a pearly, liquidy moisturizer that looks and feels more like a serum. it comes in a white bottle, it is salicylic acid based, and it contains “grasse jasmine extract” which means absolutely nothing to me, but whatever. the day cream is my favorite out of this whole set. it really minimizes my pores, and my skin feels tight (in a good way) and smooth as silk throughout the day. the only negative i can think of is that sometimes i use stridex pads in the morning, and when i combine it with this day cream, its salicylic overload and i get a bit of stinging and redness around my cheeks for 15 minutes or so. it is definitely the least moisturizing out of the resynchronizing set, so if dryness is a serious problem for you, i wouldnt really recommend this one.

This is a review of the Chanel Resynchronizing Skincare set, including le Jour, le Nuit, and le Weekend.
I received a sample set when it first launched in Nordstrom, and hadn’t used it until a month and a half ago. At first I was skeptical about the Day-Night-Weekend “synchronizing” concept and thought it was just another hot air in the skincare market, but I was WRONG!
At the time I began to use the samples, my skin looked dull and dehydrated since I always lack sleep and never drink enough water; also my cheek showed signs of allergy (dry, red, itching, and flaky) but I couldn’t tell what the allergen was. I had been using La Mer the Brightening Infusion Intense back then for about one and a half months and hoped it could make my skin brighter – but it didn’t. I found this sample set deep inside my drawer and started using it as instructed, but I didn’t expect anything since I didn’t believe in this concept at all.
I used le Jour in the weekday mornings followed by La Mer infusion, and le Nuit in the weekday evenings after La Mer infusion. At weekends I used le Weekend in the morning and evening without using any other skincare products. I didn’t change my life – I still work overnight on my research and papers, often forget to drink or eat, and I am always under stress. After about two weeks I was asked by friends what I had been using since my skin looked great (and they all know about crazy living style). I still don’t understand why the Resynchronizing set works, but I decided to keep it in my skincare routine and introduced it to everyone I know. I bought two sets in Nordstrom, one for myself and one for my mom, and I decided to buy another set as a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law.
This set is pricey as $285 plus tax for all three, and it’s packaged in plastic bottles (these bottles look chic but I think they should use glass instead). However, it worth every cent! Also I expect the whole set to last for more than three months since the sample set lasted me for more than two weeks.

“Morning Reactivating Face Care
Energizes skin so it can adapt to its environment throughout the day. Grasse Jasmine Extract invigorates the skin, while Salicylic Acid gently and gradually exfoliates to visibly minimize pores. Your complexion appears smooth and radiant, and ready to face the day.”

I have combo/oily, easily dehydrated, aging skin that breaks out from every other new thing that I try on it. Skin care or color cosmetics. Hair care or toothpaste. If it gets on my skin, it’s fairly likely to break me out.
I have become much more cautious about trying new skin care, but the SA at Nordstrom was very encouraging about me trying the Le Jour De Chanel.
There are 3 products in this line. Le Jour ($85.00), Le Nuit ($85.00) & Le Weekend ($115.00).
Even though this is the “day” serum, I used it the first night & woke up to skin that looked & felt so smooth & soft. It works very well under my makeup, for daytime.
I cleanse with Shiseido The Skincare Gentle Cleansing Cream, use Chanel Lotion Douceur Gentle Hydrating Toner & then Le Jour De Chanel.
I’ve been using it day & night for 2 weeks, because I love the way my skin looks & feels.
I felt that my skin care needed something added to it & I am so glad that I tried this.
It’s wonderful
