This is probably in my top five cleansing oils. I love the fresh scent of this. The oil is lightweight so it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. I massage it into dry skin for a few minutes and then add water. It then turns to a frothy milky texture and rises clean. My skin is left so smooth and soft. This does a great job of cleaning without drying out my skin. I can even go without moisturizer if I want to at night after using this.

This irritates my sensitive winterskin like hell. After using this, my face shows red bumps and is very painful. Moreover, it does not clean properly (and I am not a heavy make-up user) so I have to use another cleanser on top.
Not impressed at all.

I LOVEEEEE This Oil cleanser! Its my holy grail ! It worked amazing in my skin care routine . Its so light compared to other oils that i have tried that actually have left my face feeling greasy. I have combination skin with oily cheeks , dry forehead and dry chin and after using this my skin felt sooo soft and it really does its job with getting rid of my makeup. It gets rid of almost all of my makeup even my water proof makeup. I always use this and follow up with a foaming cleanser as its part of my skincare routine. I would def recommend this to a friend and I am planning to buy again. The pricing is good for what you get .

THIS IS AMAZING! Good for the price to double cleanse when you wash your make up off. Super convenient to have it in a pump that you can twist to lock it for travel.

I have combo skin that can be really dehydrated, tight, and uncomfortable. While not prone to breakouts, I’m constantly battling clogged pores. I wear a physical tinted sunscreen and need an oil to take it off completely. I used avocado oil for years and was very happy with it, but got a sample of this and the Immortelle version with my last L’Occitane order…enough for about 10 uses. I tried the Immortelle version first since I’m a forever user of their Divine Creme, and liked it enough, but not enough to switch from avocado. Then I used this version and was an immediate convert after just one use. The scent alone is so soft and soothing. Using it to clean my face before bedtime is so relaxing. Its a medium thickness (compared to refined avocado which is pretty thin) with a super silky feel. One pump into my palm, rub palms together, breathe in the scent, then spread over face and neck and massage in. I use a washcloth in warm water to remove it all, then a toner to make sure its all off. It always is. Before with avocado oil, a toner was necessary as it left some remnants of mu behind, but with this a toner really isn’t necessary. I just enjoy using one. It leaves my dehydrated skin feeling clean but not tight and drawn and I’ve actually had less clogs since using this and zero breakouts. The packaging (pump bottle) is ok for dispensing, but a pain for travel. You can push down, rotate, and lock the nozzle, but its a 6.7oz so no carry on so I have to transfer to another bottle. It would be great if they made travel sized bottles. Its pretty expensive ($24) compared to avocado oil (about $5 for 6 ounces), but I think it works better for my skin and its so relaxing using it I’ll continue to buy until something better comes along.

I have used it for 1 month now, so far so good. Firstly, it uses shea butter oil, rather than mineral oils that may cause breakouts on my sensitive skin. Easy to be applied on when your face is dry, efficiently remove my makeups, and my face is not greasy after rinsing it with water.
For the packaging, some previous reviews said there was no safety mechanism. The one I brought recently, you can just simply twist dispenser cap to lock it. If you are not sure how to, ask BA to show you, I think they are willing to help you out. : )

Good product with a reasonable price tag. I use this cleansing oil to remove my makeup (everything but eye makeup, although you can use it for removing that too). The bottle has a pump dispenser, and one pump is perfectly enough to remove all my makeup. I’ve been using the product for almost three months and I have approximately used only 1/5 of the bottle, so it’s very sufficient.
I have used Kanebo’s Sensai cleansing balm and oil before, which are very similar products to L’occitane, and they have left my skin a little bit more moisturized and softer. After using L’occitane, I feel like I need to wipe may face with a moisturizing toner. Otherwise, my skin feels a little bit tight. I have combination skin, so this might be just my skin. However, the bottle costs $32.00, so it’s much cheaper than Kanebos products (around 50 dollars).
The pump dispenser is actually the reason why I probably wouldn’t buy this product again. It’s very handy at home, but there is no safety mechanism. I bought the bottle when I was on vacation and had to duct tape it before I could put it in my suitcase. If L’occitane changed packaging, I could reconsider buying it.

I think this is fabulous. It removes all my makeup including my most stubborn waterproof mascara. Leaves my face soft and feeling clean. It smells nice too. I can’t speak of the price, it was a gift. It’s a pump bottle. I really like it, but it’s the first cleansing oil I’ve used so I can’t compare. I would buy this stuff though. Works great. Doesn’t bother my sensitive watery eyes.

As a teenager I had quite problematic skin. Now I’m 26 and I still have the occasional breakout and black heads. But since I struggled with it in the past, I really want to keep my skin as clean as possible. When I entered the l’Occitane store I really wanted to use this and bought it immediately. My hopes were high! On an everyday basis I use quite a bit of makeup. First I take of my makeup with a makeup remover wipe, then I used the cleanser, my toner and moisturiser. Everything was fine, and it really removed my makeup well, but it broke me out like hell… And not just a small pimple, they were deep, sore and red. Had to stop using it! Now I’m using the body shop cleanser (not the straight up oil, but the butter kind) that one did not break me out!

I have mixed feelings about this cleanser. Prior to using this cleanser, I’d been using the Cerave face cleanser for oily skin, which is just your classic foaming face wash. I read some very positive reviews for this cleanser online and had a Sephora gift card, so I figured I’d give it a try. It worked very well for my oily/possibly combination skin and I think I was able to tell a positive difference in the texture of my skin. My skin felt soft, clean, and healthy. All of this was when I was living in Southern California. However, I recently moved up to Northern California for work and this cleanser just no longer works for me. I think the water quality here must be the culprit. Apparently the water where I live now is much softer than the water in SoCal.
Whenever I’ve tried to use this cleanser, it feels as if I can never get all of the cleanser off my face–it feels oily and I can feel the cleanser literally just sitting on top of my skin. I’m doing the exact same thing that I did back in Southern California–applying the cleanser to my dry face with slightly wet fingertips, and it simply does not work anymore. Stupid water! This used to be a great cleanser for me and now all it does is break me out because I can’t completely rinse it off my face. I’m back to the Cerave for now.
Also: a lot of the reviews I’d read prior to purchasing this product had raved about how good it was at taking off makeup. It does quite a good job, but I honestly think the Cerave does a better job.
I don’t know if this is just my skin being weird and accustomed to harder water, or if other people have had this problem…but just thought I’d share!
