The darkest lipstick I own. I guess I thought I need a very dark lipstick for vampy days…? I regret buying it since I didn’t wear it at all since I purchased it from the Urban Decay counter.
Color is great but I remember that it’s not transfer proof and, with all dark lipsticks, comes the hard reality, that the precise application can be a nightmare, especially when it bleeds.
Overall, I give this 4/5, because of the cons I just listed, not because I don’t like the color.

This is described as “deep berry wine” which I don’t think is a very good description. I’d call this “blackberry.” If you look at a blackberry, it’s that exact color. It’s as close a purple-plum can get to black without being a true black, but at first glance it looks black-brown in the tube. On my (very pink) lips, there is a purple tone that I didn’t expect, but I bought it online, so I was taking a gamble. I was looking for a super-dark wine color. In hindsight, I might’ve been better off with Disturbed. Still, I wore this for Halloween (I was the Wicked Witch of the West, green skin and everything). Against the green skin, the purple tones worked well, I think something redder might have looked to “Christmassy.” I bought this as a “duo” with the matching liner. The Blackmail liner is lighter and slightly redder; I wish the lipstick had been the same. This could work for those who want a black lip look, but black is too harsh against their skin. I don’t see myself running out of this lip color anytime soon, but it is a fun color. If I lost it, I’d buy it again, but I’d wait until I knew I had a reason to wear it. UPDATE: I had to update. This applies much better with a lip brush than straight out of the stick for me. The color is still perfection, but for some reason when I apply straight from the tube or don’t use a brush to correct, I can get this patchiness even when using a primer. If I didn’t love the color so much, I would consider returning because it is annoying. BUT, I swatched this next to every comparable shade MAC, Revlon, or Wet n Wild I could find and nothing was quite right. Everything else had more red or more purple in it. So I will have the patience to work with this.
Original: Blackmial is a deep plummy shade. It has more of a purple tone to it than Disturbed which had more of a berry burgundy tone to it. When I saw Blackmail on Temptalia, I thought it would look that dark and blackish on me. I think she is nc25 – nc30. I am nw20, deep winter, almost black hair and brown eyes. I have much less warmth in my skin than her. But when I tried on Blackmail it ended up looking stunning, rich and could easily be worn casually on me. Immediately after application, I thought, a bit vampy, but it works. I walked away for a minute and came back and it wasn’t even feeling that vampy to me anymore. It was a rich, deep fall type shade. My husband actually preferred this over MAC Diva on me. If UD Disturbed is the color of a red delicious apple, then Blackmail is the color of those black purple plums. I am actually liking Blackmail more than Disturbed. But they are both fabulous, deep and impactful.
