I tried the hemp ultra moisturizing protectant when the original hemp body butter was unavailable. I was very disappointed. Hard to spread/rub in and didn’t have the deep moisturizing and relieving qualities that the hemp butter had. It’s a decent moisturizer but not worth the trouble if you’re looking for a replacement of the original formula. I’m now searching for other companies that will have a similar hemp body butter formula. Anyone that was concerned about the earthy smell of the original should know that the scent becomes addictive after awhile and is not offensive at all. My grade school son used it for years and now the kids at school have been wondering why he’s not using his neat lotion anymore, they started to really like the smell too! We all really miss the body butter, it was so amazing from face to feet and nothing else comes close.

This stuff is so lovely. I recently started getting really drawn to Rose scented products and decided to try this. My husband loves their body butters so when I saw this I had to get it.
Don’t let the rose scent turn you off if you are not a rose fan. It is very soft. Its a light powdery rose that is wonderful. I’m a huge fan of this now. Absorbs into skin very quickly, so no greasy feeling. Leaves skin super soft and hydrated. I actually love the little sheen it leaves on skin. Wonderful on tan legs. I want to try more in the Rose line from The Body Shop.

Bought this on a buy two get one sale at Ulta. The scent is mostly okay, but has a strange chemical smell underneath it. it seems to go away as the product warms. I bought it for the scent, though, because I wanted something soft and delicate for evenings or when I was planning to wear other, stronger scents.
It’s an OK moisturizer. It doesn’t absorb not moisturize as well as other favorites. I was willing to tolerate that.
The problem is it has a weird, waxy, almost sticky residue that lasts and lasts. I could feel it a full day later on my skin. I suppose this is supposed to be the “glow” they threaten, and, though I don’t see it, I do see a bit of oily shininess, which dries down to this less-than-moisturizing, unpleasant feeling, not-really-rosey scented body butter.
Absolutely terrible, and I am unable to finish it or even to find any use for it at all.

This body butter is very similar in texture to some of the other Body Shop Body butters. It is quite a thick and creamy texture which melts into the skin and leaves it feeling soft, hydrated and delicately scented. It absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy. It doesn’t seem to make me ‘glow’ as it claims too, it leaves the skin looking like it looks after using any other of the Body Shop’s Body butters. This doesn’t have glitter or shimmer in it, unlike some other products which promise glow. The scent is lovely and delicate and rosy – very British indeed! It is reminiscent of a rose garden and doesn’t smell synthetic or chemically. It does however have a powdery note to it which I am not a big fan of. I believe this scent would be more suited to a more mature woman. It is definitely a gentle, refined and classy scent. I like the scent enough to finish my tub but I would not repurchase and am glad I only picked up the small size.

This is a thick, creamy butter that absorbs quickly and moisturizes well, but the smell is FOUL. Sharp, soapy, chemically, musty. . .it’s like a study in all of the ways rose can go horribly, horribly wrong. I tried giving it some time to dry down and mellow a little, but after an hour it still stank and I had to shower it away. So gross. Nasty. Yuck. Avoid.
