   I got into CT blushes for a while, because they apply smoothly and leave a very flattering glow. I wish I could rave on and on about them but I cannot because two of mine broke out of the blue. Not just a small crack, but major separation into puzzle pieces turning it into a big mess. The blushes were never dropped or banged, only stored in a padded makeup bag. I’ve never had a powder product do this so I’m shocked to have this happen twice. I transferred the broken up powder to different packaging in order to continue to use them – which detracts from one of the selling points of the blush, which is to create dimension by using two separate colors. CT representatives never responded to my complaint, so if this happens to you, which I hope it doesn’t, there’s no recourse. Very disappointing.

   I have several Cheek to Chic blushes including Ecstasy (peach with bronze), Love Glow (natural neutral pink), Sex on Fire (dusky rose), and most recently, Love is the Drug (bright cool pink). Each Cheek to Chic blush has an outer ring, a “swish” shade, and an inner circle called the “pop” shade. The idea is to apply the outer color in soft circles to the cheek and pop the center shade onto the apples. You can choose to use only the outer ring or only the center. But I think most people just blend the two tone-on-tone colors together. The powders blend easily and are virtually foolproof, so they look beautiful on the skin using any of these methods.

   I already had Love Glow, but I’m so glad I bought Love is the Drug because I really prefer it. The pink is much brighter and fresher, yet still a natural-looking shade. It’s very pigmented and I’m fair-skinned, so I use a light hand when I apply, but I feel like I’m getting a lot of bang for my buck. I’ve been using the Wayne Goss Brush #14 which is great for strongly pigmented blushes – the head is long, loose, a bit floppy, and domed, so it applies color with a whisper rather than a roar. If I want more intensity, I use my beloved Goss Brush #2. This brush grabs more color from the pan yet still blends smoothly.

   Love is the Drug stays true on my cheeks all day without fading or shifting. I bought this shade partly because I already had the Perfect Vamp Kiss kit. This is the blush color designed to accompany Night Crimson lipstick, Savage Rose lip liner, and Unleash Me gloss. This cool pink is my ideal blush to wear with any red lip, berry shades, plums, pinks, roses, and pinky nude lipsticks. As another reviewer observed, it’s the sort of shade that makes it look as though you’ve just come back from skiing.

   These blushes have a hint of shimmer but they are not as obviously glittery as as something like NARS Orgasm or a highlight powder.

   I love this color. This blush will last a long time, but it’s such a lovely, basic go-to shade that I’d replace it immediately if something happened to this one.

   Each Cheek to Chic is $40 for 8 grams of product in an attractive oxblood mirrored compact.

   This is one of my favourite blushes – pretty close to Tom Ford blushes. I have these blushes in Love Glow (very natural neutral flush of colour with a beautiful bronze-y sheen (on me)), Ecstacy (a peachy pink that pairs well with warm colours), and Love Is The Drug (bright pink cooler toned that look like I just got in from the cold). I love all of them because they all impart a gorgeous glow on my cheeks. The staying power is fabulous and doesn’t oxidize or change colour nor does it look fake. If you want a natural looking flush for any occasion these are great! My new favorites!

   This blush is very deeply pigmented and applies to your skin effortlessly. You need so little product to do your entire face. The pop of color in the centre of the compact is a completely genius design and instantly gives you amazing cheek bones. The compact is a bit sticky to open, but the packaging is beautiful. This has now trumped dior as one of my favorite blushes.

   I’m conflicted about this blush and maybe I just didn’t get the right shade for me. It is super pigmented and has great staying power but is too shimmery for me. It reminds me of a muted Nars Orgasm. Everyone I know loves Nars Orgasm but it’s way too blingy for (I’m in my mid 40’s). Also I have dry skin and usually wear liquid or cream blush but I wanted to try this since it looked so beautiful on the swatches I saw online. I don’t know…I may keep it to lightly brush over my liquid blush for more staying power or give to my younger sister.
