Essie site lists this as a ‘sheer’ white but it’s surely not! More of an opaque, even with one coat. Returning it….and hate when a company mis-represents their own shade!

How about chicken wrap, which is even thinner? While not as shiny as some of the other uniforms, it is quite sturdy and much more versatile than the Guard. As we start at the puffy nose, moving the rib cage back to other extremities allows the PVC sleeves to quickly open and well away from both feet.
Despite being like two lengths of ribbon, the Kevlar is designed to grip tightly against the seams, and with no direct locking by the corset itself makes sure it doesn’t flex at the other side.
Shocking, right?
It is still a bit of an outsider’s dream for this uniform to be currently being presented at the Arena, considering that it is the result of extensive research for the Comanche Army. The design was originally inspired by imagery of the submarine battle itself, one of the best propaganda games in history. Given the results of it’s research, there is a clear preference for the woeful uniform.

This makes an amazing pedicure. It looks jelly-white, with an ever-so-slight pink undertone. It doesn’t look like you’re trying too hard with this, just very clean and natural. I was also able to go without another pedicure for over a month. It still looks great, and doesn’t look worn out even after a month. I just hope Essie never discontinues or changes the formula. I think I may have found a holy grail polish for my toes.

Finally, because this is the first time I’ve used the Essie Liquid Panels Cleanser on a frozen stick, I have a feeling it’s gonna be long before I go back to use them. Initially I just wanted to use the liquid gloss pencil and then the base coat one at a time. However, it turns out to be great when combined with the Essence A-line or the Essence N-5 Dip Cream Brush (there was no difference for me) and it dries into an all-day doll.
I’ve also noticed this formula dries pretty fast for me on my hands with my fingers, palms, and face, which is incredible. It’s not going to be the last time I’ll use Essie and always make sure to check out out their amazing pre-sized screens above.
All in all, great product! I hope this review helps someone who is new to the approach of some or all of these and isn’t entirely sold on all of them.

I’m on my second bottle and I agree that the formula has changed colors slightly. It doesn’t have the undertone of yellow like the old Marshmallow did. It’s more a jelly formula white. I love a white mani. I think they look so clean, professional, pretty, bridal etc.. But my hands don’t tan at all, not even in this Alabama 110 degree dog days of summer. My hands are still pale. So this is the perfect polish for me to get that white mani look without using a stark opaque white like Essie’s Blanc, or OPI Alpine Snow. Bc it’s a jelly formula it streaks very easily.. admittedly I am a cosmetologist that focuses on skin and nail care. So I don’t think it’s that hard to work around it just takes a little practice. I do 2 thin coats to begin with then 2 thicker coats. It leaves my nails almost gel manicure looking. Bc if the thickness. I like that look so I use Sally’s hansen miracle gel 2x topcoat and have great results. Essie is known for their sheets and they definitely deliver!

This is meant to be a soft milky white for French tips, however it looks awesome applied to the entire nail plate. It is finicky and can be streaky. How I avoid the streaky mess or the need to apply tons of layers is to use a matte top coat sandwiched between the 1st and then 2nd layer of marshmallow. Doing that hack makes this perfect opaque with 2 thin coats. Love this as a summer manicure.

I love the color and pictures of it where folks can get it to apply well. Sadly I can not get it to apply well. It’s streaky and a mess even with a self-leveling top coat. 1, 2 or 3 coats, it doesn’t look any better.
Save yourself the time, money and effort of fighting this polish (because you will fight it) and get one that goes on beautifully (Wet n Wild 2% Milk, color is not white but a semi-sheer, milky tan-pink that is lovely and goes on wonderfully, see my review of it for tips on applying it).
I wish I could make it work but I just can’t get this to look good on me at all. I applaud those (and am jealous *smile*) who can make this look nice, because the color itself is pretty.

I bought this in 2015 and had a COMPLETELY different experience- so streaky/patchy I had to return it. Goopy, impossible to work with. It was also more yellowy than the current one.
In 2017, this applied like a dream, better than the formula for ballet slippers. Beautiful in two coats, no real issues with it not leveling/patchiness.
So either there are some bad batches out there or they changed the formula!

I’m not sure why I expected this polish to be any different than other Essie polishes I’ve owned. It is streaky and rather unforgiving. The brush is difficult to spread across the nail. It stays wet and tacky for a long time but it sets just enough upon application that it’s like dragging Elmer’s glue over any spot you might want to fix. I feel like I should be able to expect more from an $8+ polish, but clearly not. It is a pretty pale, milky semi-translucent white. The color is nice, but I always remember why I seldom reach for it upon application.

I usually love Essie polishes. I own a fair number of them in a variety of finishes (sheer, opaque, etc.) and I’ve always been happy with the application, colour and lack of chipping. This, however, is awful. After one coat, a lot of polishes are a bit streaky; that’s fine. After two coats of this stuff, I started to worry. I very carefully applied three coats of Marshmallow and it still looked streaky and awful. This was over the Essie ridge-filling base coat, which I really like and has always played well with other polishes. I used my usual Sally Hansen Insta-Dry top coat over it.
I’m giving it two lippies instead of one because after five days (I haven’t had the chance to remove it so I’ve been stuck with this awful manicure fail over the long weekend) it still hasn’t chipped, not even along the tips of my nails. So it’s ugly, but at least it’s not getting any uglier.

Marshmallow is not a true opaque, neither is it a true sheer.
It’s smack in the middle between Essie Blanc and Essie Waltz.
It is difficult to apply due to its thick, jelly formula, but the end result is lovely and doesn’t make your nails look like they were painted on with white out. I’ve tried opaque whites such as OPI Alpine Snow and OPI Angel With A Leadfoot, but I realized true opaques were too harsh against my fair skin.
Marshmallow provides me with obvious white nails but without that harshness. Either wear it a little sheer with one coat or go for soft, jelly white nails with two or more coats.
