I had good, normal skin before using Nivea Soft which break me out badly.I had to use Clindamycin 1% solution and a face wash with Salicylic Acid in it to cure the pimples which were all over my face(my forhead,my cheeks,my chin),but even though I used them just twice my skin turned to a superdry, super sensitive, red, stingy, itchy, flakey mess
Then I decided to cure my skin with a home made mask.I mixed honey, cinnamon, turmeric, rice flour and yogurt and put it on my face for half an hour, then rinsed my face.I had read that it’s good to remove acne and prevent acne scars but it didn’t have any effect on my pimples, just made my skin even more itchy and red.I knew that I desperately need a good moisturizer but I was afraid that my regular moisturizers may worsen my acne so I decided to buy Bioderma Sebium Hydra
It’s written on it’s package: ultra moisturizing comprnsating care for acne prone skin ultra dry due to treatment,it claims to nourish, comfort and repair skin, soothe and reduce redness and keep skin moisturized for 24 hours without blocking pores
I’m happy with it’s moisturizing power.I was afraid that it may have a fluid or gel like texture like most products for skins with acne and I don’t like that.fortunately it has a creamy texture not very rich and tacky but not watery either.I usually use organic rose water as a toner or spray Caudalie Grape Water first, then immediately apply a bit of this cream, then wait for it to absorb and again apply it,this time in a thick layer.this way my skin feels hydrated and softened for almost 12 hours but after that my skin is superdry again and I have to reapply it.so I don’t agree with it’s 24 hour moisturizing effect but I believe that 8 to 12 hours of moisturizing and nourishment is decent.my skin isn’t dry and there’s no stretch, tightness feeling in this period
Another plus is that it didn’t break me out or worsen my acne.but about relieving itchyness and redness it has zero effect
It’s a good makeup base, most foundations blend on it smoothly but it makes my forehead look oily faster than usual.People with oily skin won’t like it IMO as it looks shiney on skin and doesn’t have any mattifying effect but if you have dry, acne prone skin it’s good to try it
I won’t repurchase as I prefer trying to find someone that can soothe my itchy, red skin in addition to helping me with my dryness but if I didn’t have this problem I may repurchase it as it’s a good nourishing cream for very dry, acne prone skins and it’s worth the 9$ I paid for it.it really makes my skin less dry in case I use it at least two times a day (a very thick layer). I’d give it 5 stars if it only claimed to moisturize and nourish dry, acne prone skins for 12 hours

This moisturiser is pretty much perfect if you have skin that is acne prone but also dry and flaky in parts. This was recommended to me by my dermatologist when I had cystic hormonal acne and honestly it was a godsend. I like the thickness of it; it felt rich and soothing on the dryness, healing it without worsening my acne, and leaving my skin feeling soft and hydrated. It’s fine to wear under makeup so long as you give it enough time to absorb fully before applying (about 15 mins for me, if I apply a thin layer), so not ideal if you need to leave the house in a hurry, but a worthwhile trade for all the benefits.
Now that my acne is completely gone and my skin is just generally dry I’m looking to switch to something a bit richer, as I find that it doesn’t really provide enough hydration to the dryest parts of my face during the winter months. I repurchased it multiple times whilst going through my acne journey though – it’s perfect for its intended purpose and that’s why it gets 5 stars.

This moisturiser ended up breaking me out, I have acne prone skin, and usually Bioderma products tend to be non-clogging, it worked fine in the beginning for me but slowly started congesting my pores, it works well for people with non-sensitive skin and occasional breakouts but if you are prone to acne or have severe acne avoid this.

I’ve received a sample, I wanted to try it out before purchasing it… and I’ve changed my mind. It’s a very hard-feeling, oily and very dense cream for my face. It made my face even oilier, no words about mattifying. I even had some breakouts on my forehead.
Very awful and expensive product.

I have very mixed feelings about this product.
My sister who suffered from acne and eventually dehydratation due to various cosmetics suggested this to me when I whined about my skin being dry and flaky. She pointed it out that it works more like a night cream and it’s true – it gets very shiny and putting makeup on it wouldn’t work. Small amounts of this easily spreadible product go a long way and it does hydrate the skin but it also clogges my pores (my friend who used this also remarked that it clogged her pores). I repurchased it once but I don’t think I would do that again, because of it’s price and the fact that I use the one I have so rarely because of the pore-clogging.

I have very reactive skin and this is the only moisturiser I can say won’t give me spots or clogged pores.
The reason I gave it a 4 is because it’s not as moisturising as I would like. Its good for the summer months. Also, I think for such simple ingredients it is overpriced but I will buy it because it works.

I got a sample of this at the drugstore beauty counter. Used it several times as a mattifying moisturizer/primer under makeup when doing a full face. I liked the feel of it, didn’t need much to cover my whole face. I did find the cream separated in the small tube, whether it be because it was expired or close to expiry I don’t know. I did like the way it felt under makeup and it didn’t accentuate my dry patches at all, and it controlled oil really well. There was no lingering or memorable fragrance to it, it did smell fresh but wasn’t overpowering or chemical.
Unfortunately, I seriously believe this broke me out. When I used it under makeup, even if I cleansed properly at the end of the day, I would wake up the next day with small breakouts in areas I don’t normally get them (forehead, front of cheeks, nose, etc). I stopped using it and and stopped breaking out when using just my makeup with no primer/my regular moisturizer underneath.
I might give this another go if I can get another sample and do some more patch testing, but I won’t put money into a full tube knowing I can’t return it.

I have combination skin with normal-to-dry cheeks area, and oilyish tzone. The texture of this moisturizer is not too runny and there is no alcohol in the ingredients. Usually creams with alcohol gets absorbed by the skin faster. So be careful to not apply too much.
The product moisturized my skin but did not do the best job compare to some other moisturizers I have tried in the past. My oilyish tzone did not get oilier, but remember you need to use a little amount. The product is advertised as “for acne-prone skin” but it has (mild) fragrance in it, I think a product for acne-prone skin shouldn’t have any fragrance.
I won’t be buying again because as I said some other moisturizers I have tried were better for my skin but I would actually still recommend you to get a sample to try it out and see the result for yourself if you have dry combination or normal skin types. Some Bioderma products including this one have some not-wildly-popular ingredients in their products. Like this cream has some “sugar” ingredients like rhamnose and fructooligosaccharide. These ingredients only started to being used in big brands’ skin care products in the last couple of years. While there seems to be not enough research on their positive or negative effects for skin, for those who want to try some new ingredients this might be nice.

Decent Product, But Not For Me
I’ve got an oily acne-prone skin and I’ve also suffered Seborrheic Dermatitis for the last 5 years. I wash my face regularly twice a day and after that I should apply a mattifier cream on my skin. As you know face wash products are somewhat harsh (even without SLS/SLES or Cocamidopropyl Betaine) and they tend to make my skin feel a little bit dried out! So I thought that this was the optimal product for me. Sebium Hydra, Sebium means for oily skin and Hydra means a intensive moisturizer, it was true theoretically but in action … It wasn’t. I knew that this product was for skins weakened and dried out by acne treatments. But I didn’t know the difference between the dryness caused by special treatments and the one caused by a cleanser! The second one is absolutely temporary! So it’s no surprise that after a few days of use, it managed to block my pores and my acne got worse. The main ingredients of this product are Glycerine, Mineral Oil and Ethylhexyl Palmitate (fatty acid), after Water! So it’s apparent that this cream is quite an oily one. When you apply it on your skin it takes quite a significant amount of time to get absorbed and after that the rest of it blends into the natural oil of skin! But as I said earlier this is a decent product if used by the right people! Not me!
PROS:
+ Ethylhexyl Palmitate, an essential fatty acid for weakened skins
+ Allantoin, a soothing ingredient again for weakened skins
+ No Alcohol
+ Cetrimide Bromide, to prevent acne
+ Consistent texture
+ Economically effective, you don’t need to apply a huge amount on your skin
+ Mild fragrance
+ Can be used as an aftershave healer! Why not? Allantoin, Non-Alcoholic, Mild fragrance!
+ Good packaging
CONS:
– Too oily for cleansed oily skins! Don’t use for temporary dryness!
– Expensive for a 40 ml tube
– Clinical fragrance! It smells like it’s a medicine. No big deal anyway.
