I used to LOVE this stuff when I was relaxed but it does nothing but dry out my natural hair. My twist outs are not defined with it, and it feels like it just sits on my hair without adding anything to it. It has cones in it, so that’s probably why, as I avoid them like the plague now.

I’m reading a lot of good reviews of this product, but this did nothing for my hair. I used this as a leave in and shampooed it out and followed up with a really light conditioner. After I rinsed and dried my hair, I scrunched in some gel and blow-dried with a diffuser. It was definitely bouncy but kind of greasy and not any more shiny than usual. Also the bottom layers were more straight than usual (I have really curly hair) and felt weighed down. I have fine hair so maybe this is better for medium/coarse hair.
I can see how this would be good for someone with really dry hair, but I think I’ll stick with my Moroccan Oil.

This was recommended to me by a friend, and I’ve come to realize it’s a miracle product. It’s now a major part of my routine- The night before washing my hair, I apply to my entire head, sleep, wash it out (twice, because this stuff is THICK), do a deep conditioner, towel dry my my hair, apply a leave-in and the slightest amount of this (my hair is fine and a little on the thin side, so a little goes a LONG way), and when it dries it feels very manageable and looks SHINY. The tub lasts forever if you use the product sparingly, and the smell isn’t bad but does recall extra-virgin olive oil. For a drugstore price this is a wonderful formula, so happy I was introduced to it..

This makes my hair shiny and moisturized. the smell isnt that great and you really have to work it into your hair but its worth it. I dont need a detangling spray before I use this and I usually do) because this is so moisturizing. The SHINE that this gives you is really the best part though. Doesnt leave buildup, because there are no cones!

As the girl below me said this product used to work. After it while it stopped working. It did used to moisturize and then i found it was making my hair dry. And it does make your hair smell kinda funny after a while… definitely not going repurchase again

This used to work great for me. The only drawback was that if you didn;t wash your hair after about 5 days it would make your hair and scalp smell unwashed. It moisturized really good then one day I bought it and it completely stopped working. I tried few other stores but they all stopped working even though I clarified my hair so that was that, I guessed they had probably done the same thing as Creme of Natre shampoo and changed the formula thinking no one would notice. Now i make my own hair mix from butters and oils and it works much better (and smells better too)

Oh my god! I guess I am just shocked about how well this product worked out the first time I used it. I am Asian and has had my long hair straightened chemically several times, and now my hair is coarse, dry, extremely poofy and frizzy. I am sooo tired of dealing with it after getting out of the shower. It’s just a big mess! So then I read some reviews here and decided to go buy this creme. It was easy to find at CVS and costed 8-9 bucks or something like that. I also picked up Tresemme’s schampoo and conditioner for damaged hair. I went home and used the schampoo, and the conditioner. When I got out of the shower, I toweldried my hair and put a good amount of olive cream in it. I used it as you would with a deep conditioner, put a plastic cap on my head and rinsed it out about 1 hour later. After that I blowdried my hair as I usually would and my hair felt silky, smooth, the puffiness was ALL GONE and there was no frizz at all. I just couldn’t believe the result!!! I am going to continue to use this product, and I’m sure as I keep using it, it’s gonna improve the texture of my hair more and more. I didn’t even have to use a straightener to tame my hair. It looked great afterwards!
UPDATE: It’s now 2012 and I still use this product! Couldn’t live without it. The only thing I have to add here is that a little goes a long way, especially if you don’t rinse the product out before blowdrying. I usually apply/work the cream into my damp hair, and then style/blowdry. If I take too much the hair can get a little greasy so moderation is key! Sometimes I mix this cream with another olive oil lotion that has a lighter consistency (Africa’s best organics). As with any styling product, find out what works best for your hair.

I love this stuff. I use it as a leave in conditioner. It’s wonderful. Leaves my hair really soft and controls my thick, curly hair (which I have a lot of). I am on my second jar of this stuff. The smell is not too bad but it’s different. Not sure what I’d compare it to. I buy mine at Sally’s Beauty supply but I’ve seen it at Target, Ulta, and drug stores like CVS and Walgreens. Definitely recommend this one.

I love this! My mom has been using it for years and I first used it after a relaxer and it helped my hair a ton! I used this along with Aussie 3 minute moisture after an Aphogee treatment and my hair went from hopelessly cotton candy and impossible to soft, shiny and manageable. Wonderful treatment and I’ll be a user as long as it’s around.

I would never have purchased this product except for MUA reviews, and it’s earned its reputation. Dirt cheap at $1.29 for a generous packet at CVS, and found in the African American hair section, this creamsicle smelling potion worked well as a conditioner. It literally sunk into my fine, colored, blonde, highlighted hair, and made comb-out easy. Did not weigh hair down. But the best feature was the volume and bounce it created while blow-drying. Amazing. I used this the way I would a regular conditioner, in the shower on wet hair for a couple of minutes. The directions recommmend leaving it on for 45 minutes with a cap. Imagine how silky my hair would have been had I done that. Will def. repurchase.
